Matt was the perfect fit for your party. I wanted to surprise my wife with something fun, a humorous "magical" experience conducted by a thoughtful performer... Matt delivered on this wish. The tricks he had ranged from ridiculously simple (purposefully and comedically so) to legitimately impressive. He got almost everyone involved and he had everyone in stitches at one point or another during the show. Matt was great at communicating and tailored the show to the audience - mostly young adults and a few very young kids. We aren't into balloon gags or ventriloquism, and Matt gratefully obliged our request not to do either. This guy is amazing!!!!! I can't understand the bad reviews! Matt put on a show for my 7 year old son's birthday party which was goosebump themed mainly focusing on slappy the dummy. He focused his ventriloquist act on that theme which made it that much more awesome! The entire show from Start to finish was awesome! Every single guest at my party wanted his card and wanted to hire him for their own party. I've actually hired ventriloquist magicians for other parties that had previously worked with the circus and this guy was way better. His prices were also very fair. Here is the last of several emails received from this "kid friendly magician". After Matt received our deposit for our childs party, he was completely disrespectful and unprofessional during the planning process and as a result, I cancelled. He immediately became irrate and refused to refund my deposit. I disputed the charge and here is his response. " I'd like to congratulate you on being a piece of garbage with no class. Congratulations on getting very lucky. I'd call you a piece of trash to your face or your loser husband's face. Your husband is a loser because he doesn't make enough money that $50 is a big problem for you. Of 2000 clients you are one of the most childish." read more

We had Matt at our house for our son's 2 year old birthday party and asked him to please not bring the dummy or do ventriloquism - he acted out about half way through the act and brought the dummy out for way longer than anyone should endure- doing a strange bit of comedy that was adult and made little sense, We asked him three times if he would please return to the balloon sculptures or magic and he ignored us. Several families said their children were 'terrified' and some of our guests left. The worst was he put his bunny into a box and then flat rolled a fake bunny out of the box...this seemed really dark and freaked several parents and kids out. Then he pulled the ventriloquist dummy back out! It was so upsetting and we were so disappointed we asked him to just please stop and we paid him and he STILL didn't get the picture. We wrote to him and explained that he was not professional and he may need to rethink how he manages parties and clients and in return we got a very hostile, sick email in response. I do not think this man should be near children. Or he is off his meds.Seems from other reviews he has a history of acting this way. read more

Matt did an amazing job with our son's first birthday! We made it clear to him that we wanted our 5 year old daughter to be the star of his act and he even did a special trick with her. She was so happy! She couldn't stop talking about it! The children laughed so hard during the performance and my 30 year old brother laughed even harder! Matt was hired to do a show for my 6-year old daughter's birthday party. The content and the language of his mediocre show was completely innapropriate for a group of that age. I do not think kids should be subjected to observing severed hands strangling the magician, a live rabbit being dragged through and flattened out by an old fashioned clothes dryer, or female undergarments pulled out from under his shirt. When confronted and asked to stop his "performance" because the children were terrified, he felt the need to finish his act with a completely motionless face. Additionally, two weeks after his performance, i had received an email in which I was called an idiot and my nationality was attacked. I highly advise anyone considering hiring this amateur to do some more research and look elsewhere. read more

Matt Cadabra put on a great show for my son's 5th birthday party. From the start he communicated well and he was very reliable. Matt made sure to stay in contact before the event and he was very flexible and willing to accommodate my special request. The boys loved his jokes and he did a great job of dealing with the 5 year old "hecklers", LOL! The kids really enjoyed seeing the rabbit being pulled out of a hat and the ventriloquism! The balloon twisting was also a hit. Matt twisted star wars themed balloons to go along with out party theme. Matt also threw in a few funny, but appropriate jokes for the parents in the audience. I would recommend Matt or your entertainment needs. Be specific in what you are looking for so that you are on the same page. Matt and I spoke about the negative YELP reviews and after our conversation I was confident that he would do a great job. The birthday boy also felt very special because Matt included him in much of the magic show. He even gave my son a 1 million dollar bill with President Obama! I hired Matt with less than 2 weeks notice for my daughter's communion party. Having never hired a magician before I didn't know what to expect, but Matt put all my worries to rest with his professional and quick correspondence. Upon arrival he was discreet and polite and set up without any inconvenience to my guests. His performance was appropriate for the age groups in attendance and he managed to captivate and engage the whole audience for close to a full hour. Matt was patient with the youngest children, humorous enough to entertain the oldest grumpy men, and kind enough to incorporate many of the children and guests in his act. There was a live bunny, a live dove, and a ventriloquism dummy as part of the show...all were great! The guest of honor was given almost an apprentice position in the performance which made her feel very special. Matt was generous in his pricing as I am comparison shopped and he was far more affordable than others who offered less in their shows. I also found him to be gracious rather than entitled which is an admirable quality in service professionals. As a teacher I can respect and appreciate anyone who chooses to work with children as their career. I noticed how he managed to include all of them and I commend him for it. His props, costumes, balloon making skills, charm, and corny yet intelligent wit are exactly what I was hoping for and I recommend hiring him to anyone. read more
