While I have been extremely skeptical about many dentists, including two general dentists, who…read morewould extract the tooth or teeth based on 1 X-ray alone, resulting in losing almost all the teeth in the upper jaw. In 2004, one of the less diligent and/or competent dentist (not dishonest however) referred me to see Dr. Duell, who was a prosthodontist (which requires post dental license study and examination and certification) and full professor at UCLA. He constructed an extremely expensive lower mouth partial, together with custom crowns all made in stainless steel, making provisions to add teeth if I should lose more back in July 2004. After 14 years, the partial and the crowns sustained all the wear and tear. About 1.5 year ago, it need to be re-cemented by one very well trained technician, under the instruction of my regular dentist. After my foolishly following the ill advice of one unethical dentist referred by my neighbor, who is a retired dentist and sold his practice to this dishonest dentist, I lost nearly all the teeth on the upper jaw. I reported this dishonest dentist on Yelp.com 5 -10 years after the mishap; he pretended that he did not remember me. I went back to see Dr. Duell last year, he constructed a custom made partial with 2 implants with reasonable price so that I would not be subject to wear full mouth denture and lose chewing power the enjoyment of food at age of 73. He accepted my preference, i.e. Instead of removing all the remaining 2 teeth, waiting for the gums to heal, wearing temporary full mouth denture and then install implants after the gums heal, then connect a custom partial to the implant (or the more risky full mouth implant, which may be problematic because of prior periodontal problems), there was no need to for the extraction and no time loss in wearing temporary full denture or waiting for gum healing. Yes, implant surgery is painful for a person who is extremely susceptible to PAIN, like me. But it worked out well. Dr. Duell will be retiring by the end of 2016. To be fair, I must make this post to let fellow patients to know that he has NEVER been or never will be the crook, whom we must all try to avoid.

Due to my anxiety about dentistry and trust in medical professionals, I was taken advantage of for years at this office. This dentist will scrutinize your insurance and then convince you to have unnecessary procedures so that he can secure as much of your insurance money as possible. For example-he convinced us to redo an already existing crown that had no issues simply because it was old. I questioned him about it, and he admitted that it was not medically necessary. That was the last time my husband and I ever had anything to do with this office. Additionally, his skills are outdated and his equipment is antiquated. His skill level was discovered by my new dentist that was mortified at the quality of his work that she saw when she examined both my husband and my teeth. We have since found a competent dentist, and are astonished at the difference an actual modern, smart, kind dentist is actually like. It is entirely my fault that this happened to me and my husband. I should have been more diligent, less trusting, and more questioning. I'm glad I finally got wind of what was going on and urge anyone contemplating getting work done here to please seek other dentists. There are many choices and you only have so many teeth. It is clear that this dentist does not care about his patients and their dental health. He cares about how to use each patient as a commodity which I feel is unethical and fraudulent.

Dr Roberts is very patient and my son always got to pick out a toy from the treasure chest after each visit when he was little. My grandmother on the other hand hates dentists but would still go to Dr. Roberts. She was NOT an easy patient but Dr. Roberts treated her with kindness and respect. His staff would spend extra time getting her teeth cleaned just right since she would forget to brush and floss regularly. We would recommend Dr. Roberts and his staff to anyone.

So sad that these days one can't find a dentist that has a professional staff/office to take care of of the office in general. We found this place and it definitely worked for us. The dentist is a sweet older woman, very heavily accented, but she definitely knows what she's doing. In between her and her assistant, you'll get great service at great rates (we were able to pay for all our fillings out of pocket). Nothing fancy about the location, its a small office sporting little more than the necessary machinery. I imagine a lot of people pass this place up because there's no fountain in the reception room or any ivory statues of Herculean men with heroic jaws to inspire confidence in the institution, but if you know what you want you can get it here. It'll be done well and it'll be done much cheaper than most places, and she wont try to scare you into buying services you don't need (something i've seen a lot of dentists do). Definitely worth your business.

For $50 you get quality teeth cleaning... not like the ones I've been to in the past who just brushes your teeth with fancy dentist equipment and charges you $100+!!! Although she has heavy accent and quite difficult to understand, it didn't really matter because as a dentist, all she needed to do was help you, and help maintain your teeth... She's not into marketing services either, if you don't need it, she will tell you... This is not a fancy dental clinic, so don't get your expectations up... There are no LCD TV's or fancy waterfalls in the waiting area... Perhaps, this is how she keeps her fee low... She is also understaff compared to other clinics... Had to have a root canal almost 10 years ago. I was young and dumb to think a "professional" who says something is normal and sometimes takes multiple tries is actually good at their job. She broke her dental tool off into the root of my canal. The broken instrument had to be removed by the vibration of another tool. I sat in her chair for two hours on my second visit and had to come back for the third visit to remove the broken instrument. Finally, on the fourth visit the root canal was completed. I was in so much pain and she would only prescribed 500MG of Ibuprofen. This experience has totally traumatized me and have avoided a root canal with a tooth extraction. One of her first statements to me was "I really wanted to go to med school but was not accepted". I should have run out of her office. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST!!!!!!!!!

He was able to tell Jeff what to do and was able to get him in the next day to look over the tooth. A free cleaning then became $500 Doctor is an inconsiderate oaf. Shouted over patients and announced "I have a hot one over here" which was innapropriate and embassasing.
