She is in the first steps program (1 year old classroom) and I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Jamie, her teacher. Ms. Jamie is an absolute saint. Not only is she the head wrangler of all these crazy kids, but she is always doing new projects, adding interactive learning via play and takes the cutest photos that the front office will send you! Last week, the letter was E and I got the cutest photo of my kid in an elephant costume she brought in. The front office is also amazing. Marissa and Cindy are always so sweet and Alicia, the director, is always available to chat about ANYTHING. Out on the playground, all the other teachers know my child by name too. Bridges is for your family if you value a childhood full of exploration, learning, and play in an environment that is welcoming. This close knit community is the best!

We left her prior daycare due to some concerns that came up after having been there several years so we were a little hesitant what we would find switching. I'm pretty picky about the childcare of my children and I literally cannot think of a single negative thing about Bridges. The children get plenty of variety in their day with outdoor play, gardening, art, learning etc. Getting dirty happens but I am just glad she's having fun. Things are structured but in an age appropriate way. They are also very accommodating and helpful when in potty training stages. It is taking my little one some time to adjust and they have been patient with her. I only ever hear teachers communicating with the children kindly and they handle discipline appropriately. I appreciate that they only allow healthy foods/snacks. We are so happy with Bridges that we will be moving our older son this upcoming school year for kindergarten. After comparing Bridges to our zoned elementary school it is clear that the kinder program at Bridges is a more age appropriate learning environment. Highly recommend all around.

When we got there, Daniel greeted us, and we did both the assessment and planning appointments ( he had us waiting 10 minutes past our appointment time for the planning appointment) with him. We later found out that it wasn't $300-$400 a month for 4 hours a week, but rather $360 a month for 12 months, covering 96 hours, and they run a hard credit check. This means she would be getting 6 months of tutoring for basically $360 bi-weekly, which felt misleading. I'd rather go to a tutoring place that doesn't do a hard credit check and is upfront with their prices. Additionally, Daniel was rude when I tried to discuss my daughter's needs; he would cut me off and talk about himself not even addressing or acknowledging what I just mentioned about my daughter.

I sincerely hope my kids settle in, We were told EDUPRIZE is a good school, but the way my kids talked after school left me feeling unsure if we made the correct choice. They said 28 kids are sat at a 20 kid table during lunch, which is concerning for many reasons. Spreading of germs/sickness, lice, personal bubbles. One of my kids said they couldn't find a place to sit and had to squeeze into a place they weren't comfortable. They also said older grades are not allowed on the playground and that their recess time is spent walking around doing nothing if they aren't lucky enough to get one of three balls and be invited to play. All K-6 kids need recess, play, and opportunities for positive social interactions and friendship-building. This is so important to one of my children that they want to switch schools after the first day. I told them to give it some time, that things always get better, but a parent always worries about their child.

And the way they teach math and reading is so different from the way I grew up. I think the best part about this school is the community. Maybe it's because all of the teachers come from Teach For America or ASU teaching program but they all really care about the kids and are super knowledgeable. As a vegan and science geek, I love that this public school actually teaches science and fun things like gardening. That's really hard to find nowadays. So if you're looking for a school where your kid is going to get great foundational skills and a well-rounded experience I would choose Solano. They just really care about teaching kids how to "care for others" and care about their learning. And also they have cool educational materials for kids to learn new skills, like a 3D printer.

We've truly loved every teacher he's had; they've all been so kind, caring, and supportive. I really appreciate how they not only focus on academics but also help with social situations, like when he's had little playground or line issues with friends. The growth I've seen in him has been incredible--he's already learning and doing so much more than I expected, thanks to the strong foundation he got in preschool and Pre-K.
