There are a lot of reviews out there about Kumon and how effective it is, etc. but we have found…read morethat for our child it has worked really well. We started at Kumon in October 2018 to bring my daughter's math up. She has since progressed from one level behind grade to working 2 levels above grade in just 4 months. Kumon absolutely requires involved parents and I would be lying if I said my daughter loved every second of it but it has produced results. Now, from my research, there are a few big drivers of success with Kumon. Perhaps one of the most critical ones is the center itself, or rather the person running it. I have read horror stories about other centers and how utterly unforgiving they were but I have not found that to be the case at this center. They don't just drop a ton or worksheets on your kid and "expect them to figure it out totally on their own." Ms. Tara takes the time to sit with my daughter and offer strategies to solve new problems. We are going to be expanding into reading to compliment the math shortly. Thank you Ms. Tara.
