I'm so amazed at how she's able to handle curriculum for different levels and know all the kids by their 1st names. She also noticed that my 2nd son was advanced for his age and, along with a few other 4 year olds, she made advanced lessons just for them. My son loved it cuz he felt more challenged and up till now (he's in 4th grade already) still remembers those lessons he learned from Kany and says those were harder than 2nd grade in public school, but it was more fun! I brought my 3rd child there who just graduated pre school this past spring as well and he loved Kany and all his teachers. Anyways, I only have good things to say about Basic Steps and Kany and I wish her all the best!

The proof is in their success-my kids scored in the high 80 and 90 percentiles on their ISEEs, were accepted to their private schools of choice, and earned 5s on AP Physics and Calculus exams. My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. This review for GRCC is on booking a meeting room for an outside business. Booking the room was…read moreeasy via a phone call and filling out a form. I got the time slot we wanted for an all-day meeting. I worked with Pam Dally, and she was great. When we arrived to the room, the guest login and password along with the phone extension were written on the whiteboard for us for the desktop we were using for the presentation. I had asked for an easel which wasn't there, but after asking at the front desk, one was brought up right away. The room was clean. GRCC doesn't set up the tables and chairs for you, but it was easy for us to do that ourselves for the small group we had. When we came back from lunch, I asked security to unlock the door for us, and he was happy to do so. He was a friendly guy who chatted me on the way there. The place was deserted on a Friday. I don't know if that is because there was a break in the semester or what. It was very quiet, which was perfect for us. We had one student bang on the door in the middle of our meeting asking to use the pencil sharpener, which wasn't a big deal. The only other disturbance all day was someone's car with the bass cranked up so loud it was shaking the wall on the third story for about two minutes. There is a big parking lot on the west side of Kent Station, next to GRCC which makes parking easier if the garage is full. There isn't a cafe or any vending machines anywhere that we could find so bring food or go out to eat. The bathrooms were well kept.

Though majority of my professors here are knowledgeable, kind and active in helping out students compared to the very very few who are not capable of communicating well... this wasn't really my main issue for the low rating. I understand certain teachers teach differently just as some students learn differently. The only reason I give it a 3 star is bc they tend to get political and push negativity about certain political parties! It's pretty awkward and uncomfortable when they get upset at a student for their political beliefs. Should only be focused on the study at hand, not education based on which party is best and hinting otherwise pushing you towards their personal beliefs... unless of course your taking political science and such.
