I truly had the worst experience at Mathnasium. I was reluctant to write this review, because I was…read moreembarrassed about what happened to my daughter/family. I truly am hoping this is just something that happened to us, but either way, I think it is important for me to honestly share my experience. I enrolled my daughter in Mathnasium in June because my daughter was struggling in math in 4th grade spring semester and I wanted to get her help. They shared that she wasn't too far behind and stated that they could help. They mentioned that there were 10 areas they would focus on first. My daughter attended at least 37 sessions from my records. In November and December she did not attend a few weeks because we were traveling for the holidays but the months before then she attended twice per week fairly regularly. For some reason I had not received any updates as stated in the very beginning; in fact, I received ZERO progress reports. I stopped in to inquire and the staff was confused on why I had not receive one progress report. They tell me that they will have an update when I pick my daughter up. When I return the director sits and tells me that the reason my daughter never received any progress reports after several months...ZERO, is because she made ZERO, NO progress. Then she proceeds to blame us, saying we attended irregularly. Ma'am, we still attended over 30 sessions for over 6 months. Then she goes on to blame my daughter saying she works too slow when she was not too far away. Here is my issue, why on earth was I never contacted and informed that this was not working. They sat there and collected almost $2000 from me and said nothing. She then stated that she would refund me for the last month. Ma'am you all should be giving me a full refund at this point. Your guaranteed results didn't happen. I cried for several days after this because it made me feel really sad and hopeless regarding my daughter's learning. Despite their blame game, the blame for us wasting our time is fully on them. They are a franchise, so unfortunately there is no corporate office I could reach easily. I will keep trying to give feedback to someone higher up and will likely file other complaints. Look, it's not about the money, it's about the accountability. I hope this never happens to another kid or family.

We enrolled our son in the spring semester of 4th grade. He was struggling with math and we knew that he needed extra help. Our son kept falling further and further behind in math. It was heartbreaking. We found Mathnasium and we feel so lucky to live down the road from the Barker Cypress location. We met with Cathy and her team got our son on the right track very quickly. He finished 4th grade math with higher grades and a new found confidence! Our son fell in love with math! He continued going to Mathnasium through junior high. He loved his teachers and always looked forward to meeting with them. The team at Mathnasium also tutored him, as needed, when my son took Algebra II and Pre-Calculus. He also met with Mathnasium to prep for the SAT and they were a huge help! My son is about to graduate from high school and has only the best things to say about his time with the Mathnasium team. And math continues to be his favorite subject! We will always be grateful for the team at Mathnasium.
