It's not too much stimulation for your little ones. The coolest feature of this place is the Narnia wardrobe for older readers. The event space is ideal for birthday parties or events. Teacher was late, told us wrong place to be (but still counted the session), and rescheduled almost EVERYTIME. He has zero communication skills, could never respond to a text after he had texted to reschedule and he always had an excuse. Kumon has been an instrumental part of her success and the joy she feels with reading now. Before it was a struggle for her to sit and read anything. Now she is excited to not only reading herself but constantly makes sure we have our reading time at night before bed. Kumon made it easy for her to learn the sounds of letters when coupled with others and to understand the phonics of reading verses the memorization of all the words with the public school system. Kumon helped simplify which words were sight words and which she could use the tools that she learned when she started Kumon to sound them out and actually understand how to read more words in the english language. My son has attended Mathnasium for the past 4 years and it has given him a lot of confidence in his…read moremath skills. When we mentioned that he now has good grades and should probably stop attending he was all upset and refused to do that because he loves getting alternatives way of doing math from the way he learns in class. Mr Vane is the heart of Mathnasium, he really makes math fun for kids with his different ways of teaching it and all his little "tricks" he teaches them. The fact that he is always present makes a very big difference on the tutors who know they can't goof off and need to do their best teaching. We approached them 3 weeks before the final test to count to focus specifically on her math section. They assigned her a tutor. Our tutor Sarah was a great listener and asked our daughter a lot of questions -- see how she learns, what we're her worries/concerns, what were her strengths and how she could teach her best. They had 5 strong 2 hour sessions together. Our daughter got her point and our confidence in Varsity Tutors is strong. This is a new relationship with VT. Whether they will tutor our son for ACT within the next year or help our daughter in college classes, it's comforting to know they have the personal touch to help our children academically where needed.
