We closed on our new construction home with John and team last month and could not imagine being any happier (or feeling more fortunate than we do). First, the craftsmanship. John and team are fanatical about quality and all of the little details. And we're not just talking about installing things like top-of-the-line windows and appliances (yes, they do that too). It's the thought they put into what goes behind the walls, the flow of the home, the woodwork, structural elements, and the practical way the home will be used (so many things we wouldn't have thought about but they did). And it's all done to the very best quality (forget "builder grade" and think Four Seasons!). John also surrounds himself with a team of professionals that is unparalleled in our opinion. His designer, Faye, brought so much style, as well as tasteful finishes, to the home. Gina and Brandon are constantly there to help address needs and keep everything running smoothly. Also, it says so much when you visit the construction site and all of John's subcontractors (eg, plumbers, electrical, etc.) are singing his praises and referring to him as the best builder on the island. Second, John and team really care about building relationships and making sure they exceed your expectations. Buying a shore home was almost certainly the largest expenditure we will ever make. And buying one that is under construction - with so many potential unknowns and decisions to be made - could have easily made this an unbearably stressful situation. But John and team did everything possible to remove the stress for us. They personally showed us other homes they've completed to help us visualize and see options. John was also very patient with us when we were trying to make stone selections. In addition to showing us other properties, he showed us samples, provided ideas, and made himself available any time we wanted to discuss. Because of John's experience, he always has ideas and everything feels possible. But he also made sure our happiness came first. Also, the relationship with JS Pro doesn't stop on the closing date. It's an ongoing relationship where you feel supported and confident knowing that there's a caring team of professionals behind you. I hired Supreme Home Improvements in July 2024 to build a covered deck, Sunporch, redo my aging roof and upgrade and extend the eves on my home in Forked River. The Crew started out strong showing up when they said with plenty of communication. Plans were given to the owner for review before work started and so he could file for town permits. Contracts were signed and once permits were completed piles were driven by another contractor. "SHI" (supreme home improvements) came out shortly after and set the main beams, it was shorty after this that workmanship and quality went down hill, apparently the boss doesn't know how to read plans cuz they used the wrong wood (regular pine) instead of pressure treated for half of the substructure which was rewarded with a Failed Inspection from the town.... After that repair there was countless mistakes and poor workmanship throughout the process. Bad cuts, missed nails just rough work by a slowly dwindling crew, everyone was leaving or fired ‍ I allowed them to continue as the owner said the proper repairs would be made, they were not. Since this project included a new roof over the sunporch and new roof over the covered deck. They were also hired to replace the existing roof, which has two skylights in it. Two new skylights were acquired prior to the start of the job. the boss was informed that the skylights were on hand before the crew came out to do the new roof. The day of the new roof the skylights were given to the roof crew that knew nothing about putting the skylights in the boss said the skylights would be patched in after the new roof was put on. I'm just a layman, but wouldn't you put on the new skylights before covering it with the final roof product to assure no leaking.... The new roof was installed in September 2024 in the spring of 2025 since the project is still not completed the skylights leaked. And I'm having to file an insurance claim with my homeowners insurance so they can go after SHI's insurance. Which expired in March 2025. As did the New Jersey business license. The owner clearly underestimated the job underbid it and now I'm paying the consequences. Three doors were not installed as per the contract. The eaves and PVC facia were never installed. The deck was never finished. In fact there is not one aspect of the entire job that they was hired to do that is actually completed. Beware of who you hire. Make sure to use a quality reputable company. Unfortunately, I have to cut my review short because every time I think about this project and where it's currently standing, I get frustrated Make sure they are licensed insured and bonded Otherwise you're gonna have to pay somebody else to fix their mistakes. (NOT in the report from the building inspector! TY George from Pillar to Post!) So, I needed to replace the water heater, which had probably never been drained/flushed since it was installed. Did not know anything about these except what they should cost and that BLP&B were recommended installers in the Rinnai heaters we had researched. Because of the supply chain issues, we were also apprehensive that it might take a long time to achieve. But not only did they come right over, they got the exact model we wanted and installed it within a couple of days. They also took care of the required township permits and explained everything perfectly, and adjusted my faucets so the showers would not stop partially towards "hot", which matters when you are short... as water cools as it falls! And having hot, not tepid water cured the dishwasher's "issues" too! We will use them again.
