Dr. Michael Castillo
Steve V.

I am a new patient to this dentist office after recently moving to Sacramento, CA. The office is very modern, clean, and bright with all the latest equipment including digital x-rays and images. The dentist and owner Dr. Michael Castillo was very professional and reviewed the x-rays and images with me. I saw my former dentist frequently, so there were no real surprises. He made some suggestions but did not excessively push anything. Their insurance coordinator, Jennifer, called my insurance and verified what services I was ready for and what was covered and not covered. When I stated that I did not want some optional services that were not covered by my insurance, they did not argue or try and convince me otherwise. Two days later, I went back to visit Bochi, their dental hygienist. She was very professional, very gentle, and explained what she was doing. Between the numbing gel she used and her gentle technique I felt very little pain for my deep cleaning and I have very sensitive teeth. She also spent significant time after the ultrasonic scaling using manual scaling tools and in my experience with other hygienists, they don't like to do this because it is time consuming, but it hurts a lot less than the ultrasonic scaler. In summary, this was a very pleasant experience. I could go back for cleaning every week!

I was excited when I found out Mather Modern Dentistry was opening next to Sprouts because it's literally walking distance from me. Making an appointment was seamless. You can call them directly to schedule one or use their online system, which is super user friendly. Before your appointment, you complete some new patient paperwork online, which saves you time when you get to your appointment. Their online system, Smile Generation My Chart, is also pretty cool. You can see your your upcoming appointments, schedule an appointment, send a message, view billing information, and more. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist and very soon after, taken to a room for X-rays. Then, I waited briefly in another room for my cleaning. Dr. Castillo walked into the room, introduced himself, and greeted me warmly. He was very friendly and put me at ease. Dental offices give me a little anxiety but his bright smile immediately calmed my nerves. He did the cleaning himself and his dental hygienist assisted him. He uses a laser to clean your teeth. The cleaning was quick (no longer than 10-15 minutes) but very effective. My teeth were squeaky clean and visibly white afterwards. They also give some pretty neat toothbrush kits as you're leaving. The receptionist told me to take two. The toothbrush they gave me is honestly the best toothbrush I've used. The bristles are sturdy but also soft and get in between all the crevices of your teeth. I highly recommend this dental office and am so happy they're in my neighborhood. Welcome to Stone Creek Village!

i got scam by dr.Michael Castillo for $3800 for a denture, its been 10months now since he charge me and still no denture has been produce,i ask for a refund and he said no...i ask multiple times for a refund but he just ignore me....

What should have been a simple cavity filling turned into a frustrating series of visits. During…read morethe first appointment, Dr. Tapang did not use the standard blue bite-check paper and was unusually rough throughout the procedure. He also accidentally got filling material on a neighboring tooth, which caused them to stick together--this was corrected with a great deal of pressure and discomfort. When I expressed that the tooth still felt rough, my concern was brushed off. At the second visit, he finally used the bite-check paper but seemed rushed and dismissive. The tooth continued to hurt afterward. It wasn't until the third visit that he took an X-ray, adjusted the filling properly, and explained things more clearly. Still, instead of acknowledging the earlier issues, he implied that I might be overly sensitive. To make matters worse, the office rescheduled my routine cleaning five times--and my mother's appointments three times--with little apology or consideration for our time. I'm sharing this as a heads-up for others, especially those who are soft spoken or trusting, to advocate for themselves and seek care where they feel respected and heard.

My experience is he is very careless, negligent or/and just plain incompetent. In addition, I have worked with his other dental assistants and one in particular do not recall her name was VERY INCOMPETENT. She did not test my tooth for balance or made any adjustments. I complained immediately and her response "...just give it some time to get used to..." PROS: Best dental hygienists I ever had experienced. As a…read morefirst time patient coming from dentists who are typically more traditional (with regards to their tech or care styles), Dr Kaur took this to the next level. Her office is very clean and modern. Her approach is very methodical & thoughtful! She goes into detail of your treatment plan, and how to approach your future appointments and at home care. She genuinely sounds like she cares about the livelihood of her patients and encourages them to do better about their cleanings instead of fear mongering them like other offices can do. Thank you for the care!

If you have taken time off from work, be sure to give yourself plenty of cushion because they overbook and have u wait in lobby. 2 stars. **update** I was called in right about 230 by the tech who did my xray - Itzel - she is the absolute sweetest tech - very friendly and efficient. I was also impressed with the modern tools in use - they did a full jaw/skull 3-D xray, the typical tooth X-rays and also took pics of my actual teeth. I was taken to the exam room where after a short wait Dr Gaddis came in to share her assessment of my X-rays. She too was very personable and knowledgeable- felt like I was in great hands - glad I chose this dental office. Dr Gaddis informed me that the hygienist will do the cleaning and let the Dr know if there was anything that needed review. I had to wait a bit for hygenist and then they had me wait again to see if the cleaning was covered. By the time the care coordinator came back to tell me I was covered and can proceed it was 3:45 and was told the cleaning should take another 40-45 min. I'm disappointed with all the waiting - I wish there was a way they can help set expectations more appropriately and hold true to their 90 min max appt expectation. I made an appt to come back for the cleaning - I was spent from the waiting and had to get back to work. 4 stars.

I even pressed the doctor asking if he was sure I didn't need a root canal or something. Nope deep clean. My teeth feel SO much better. No pain no sensitives anymore. Doctor was correct. Place is large and on the louder side. Women came in and was very clear about what everything would cost which was great. The only downfall is the receptionist was a bit loud when asking personal questions. They could work on discretion. The reception desk is close to lobby so anyone can hear what your being asked. I'd rather not have people hear. Most dental offices I've been in are very quiet when asking same questions.

As a 28 year old who has been to the dentist for cleaning every 6 months for over 20 years, I don't know why this started. I have been very open about my dental anxiety with this office and I know it is listed on my patient profile as well. My anxiety is so intense that they usually only do the bare minimum for cleaning, because that's all I can handle. I've never been prescribed anti anxiety medication for these appointments. They are not very compassionate towards my feelings when I come in. This is the only office that has ever pushed me to remove my wisdom teeth. As I finally decided to, I was told I would be put under general anesthesia. When I got there for the procedure, I was told 5 minutes before the procedure, that I would not be completely under or asleep the whole time. As someone who already has serve anxiety, this was super scary and I had no time to prepare. I woke up multiple times throughout the wisdom teeth removal and was in intense panick mode. When I woke up after the procedure was completed the nurse who was in the room with me, excessively repeated "breath through your nose and open your eyes" in frustrated/rude tone. I was trying to breath through my nose but was struggling to stop hyperventilating at the same time. And my eyes were already open. I tried to clam down so I could leave as soon as possible. I felt that while this office may be good for the general patient, if you have any sort of elevated dental anxiety, I would NOT recommend coming here. They just don't seem to be as compassionate as I wish they would be and they almost seem annoyed that I experience this uncontrolable anxiety. I cannot speak on their services because I feel mine are done a bit differently than the average persons (due to the anxiety that I experience)

Just wanted to note that I had another great experience at Sunahara Smiles…read more Lori (hope the spelling is correct) is the best front office person ever- always a friendly face and a top notch pro. My dental assistant, Kevin (also known as Conan), is such a pleasure to be around - super professional and polite. He always makes me feel at ease. Dr Kimi is of course, a wonderful dentist. She is clearly an expert at her craft. I encourage you to patronize this office if you're looking for expert care and want to be around friendly and professional people. This is a world class operation.

Ignore their review. Moving right along... I have seen A LOT of dentists in my lifetime and it's been at least 15 years since I actually had a GOOD dentist. Everyone since that has royally messed up my teeth and done shotty work and were rough as heck. I had lost faith in dentists and began avoiding them. But my most recent crown came unsealed (thanks to my last nepo dentist) and I had no choice. So I looked around and found Beams. They had decent reviews so I thought fine. I am SO glad I chose Beams!!! Dr. Kimi is AWESOME!!!!! She is so very kind, patient, and most importantly does AMAZING work!!! She is super gentle and she always answers my annoyingly curious questions. The hygienists are also all so very kind and friendly also patient and willing to answer questions. And the staff is so very welcoming! They remembered who I was after the first visit and greeted me by name when I came in for my second visit. Everyone is so beyond warm and welcoming and it feels like the old days where the dentist felt like family. They also have state of the art technology like this contraption that scans of your mouth and creates 3D renders of your teeth and everything going on in them and the dentist can mess with the images on a touch screen. Like what?!?! I'd never ever seen anything like that! I have now been to Beams several times and I never leave disappointed. I absolutely LOVE it here. OH and I also love how you can communicate through text! I rarely have time to make or take calls these days so text is beyond convenient and the way of the modern world. Honestly, the only negative mark towards Beams is their non-mobile friendly website . PLEASE update the website! lol. Overall, Beams is top of the line as far as I'm concerned and I hope they and Dr. Kimi especially stick around for a long time!
