They even noticed some small details on their way out, and fixed it before they left. Also a shout out to Nicole who we believe is the office manager. we hired Matthew Lin the owner and operator of the finish guy LLC for a basement renovation. We had…read morea contract signed by both parties outlining the details with a payment schedule. Matt requested a $25,000 deposit which was given to him.. by day number four of the job, he was already requesting another $20,000 . That was the first red flag and we said absolutely not. It was at that time. We also noticed things that we were promised in our contract we weren't getting what we were supposed to get. The Framing was supposed to be metal but yet they were putting wood up. We were supposed to get green board because it was a basement and a bathroom, but he had white board delivered He was trying to use cheaper materials then what we were promised in our contract !! Matt was never on our job. He never checked up on his men. He came the first day and he came on day number four when he tried to request more money from us. We would confronted him about all these inconsistencies with material and he always said oh it was a mistake. It was a misunderstanding. on week number two of them being on the job I get a phone call from Berkeley Township construction department. They noticed that the signature on the permits didn't match homeowners information. I went down to the township office and find out that Matt forged our signature on the plumbing , fire and electrical permits giving all his information lying and trying to say that the homeowner was doing all their own work. At this point We had enough!!! Our permits had to all be redone . Our plumbing & electrical had to be ripped out and Redone because he had unlicensed workers in our home. We choose not to more forward with Matt . At this point Matt owed ua 50% of our money back . We shouldn't have to pay for the unlicensed workers work that had to be ripped out and redone. We ultimately took Matt to court we won. He did not honor the court's arraignment to pay us back . So we then had to get a judgement against him . We also put a lean against! Him ! No homeowner should have to go through what we went through!! This is why I'm sharing my story
