This job included removing a drop ceiling, installing a new drywall ceiling, installing a new ceiling light fixture, prepping and painting the entire kitchen, and repairing the alignment of a large cabinet. In general, I would hire Peter again (and again) for any work in the future. Peter came over to discuss what we wanted and within a day he provided a quote in writing. He estimated the project would take three days. Prior to the start date, our sink faucet required repair which I added to the project. This was outside the original scope. What I like about working with Peter: * Peter is a good listener and asked good questions about what we wanted prior to providing his quote * He is very personable and easy to talk with about something I know nothing about - rehabbing and construction work * He arrived on time every day * He gave us updates on how the work was progressing * Peter brought a helper (Julio) who was as professional, neat and careful as he was * He decided to do a second coat of paint at no charge because the walls needed it * Although the project took an extra day, the work quality was excellent * I felt compelled to remind him of the cabinet and faucet repair - NO NEED! He had both repairs done before I brought them up - no charge for the broken faucet My kitchen is transformed!

We had extensive water damage to our living room ceiling and walls from a leaking roof last year. After having the roof replaced we started looking for painting contractors to give us estimates this spring. What a headache! My cement stoop in front of the house was sinking down. Not only that, but it seemed hollowed out…read moreunderneath and at one point a skunk family of 8 decided to live underneath the stoop. Enter JPG Construction. My sidewalk wasn't that great either, with low spots that collected water or dirt runoff. I decided it was time to replace the sidewalk and stoop. I called a number of contractors for quotes. Some never called back. Others came out and were way off on the price than what I was expecting. John from JPG came by and of all the people, he made the most sense with his approach to replacing the concrete. And he was also $900 lower than the "trusted contractor" in our parish bulletin. And I didn't even want to talk further to some other guy who offered to suspend the railing from ropes overhead as they would pour concrete around it. Don't need to be a cement guy to know he was talking nonsense. John from JPG pretty much kept me updated on the timing of the project, not leaving me in limbo about the project status. When I called him about my building permit being approved, he gave me a pretty good idea of when it would begin. Timing was everything. They broke up the cement the first day, leveled the ground underneath the next. After an inspector from town came to review the work, a cement truck appeared shortly after 7 AM on the 3rd day and poured the cement promptly. By the next morning, the cement was hardened and everything looked great. Sloped sidewalks eliminated a stoop that was too tall to meet local code, plus drained rain water away from the house. In the end, they left no mess or loose chunks of cement lingering behind to remind us of our old sidewalk. The job was done start to finish in a timely manner. It's reassuring to see since some companies tear up the cement then come back a few weeks later to finish it while they simultaneously start other unrelated jobs elsewhere. I heard all sorts of horror stories before doing this cement work and JPG proved to be reputable in all respects. No down payment till work begins, final payment due at the completion of the project. When I'm ready to redo my driveway in a couple years from now, JPG will be at the top of my list for doing that job.
