After my first day at work, I decided to take a walk over to downtown Karlskrona and be a tourist…read more My original thought was to visit Hemkop, which is a grocery store. I like supermarkets to begin with and I learn a ton about a city when I am in one.
This supermarket was a nine-minute walk from my hotel. It looked clean and inviting when I first walked in.
The produce was fresh and displayed in an enclosed case. I loved looking at the desserts and candy.
The supermarket has donuts, which were not enclosed. I would be careful getting them, as flies can easily access them.
The salami snacks caught my attention. I bought a pack of mini garlic salami sticks. They were delicious!
I was also pleased that they had lactose-free, sugar-free milkshakes. I tried the strawberry one and it was delightful.
I didn't get any beer, but enjoyed looking at the selection.
I had no problems cashing out. Even though I don't understand Swedish, I provided the proper amount of money in Swedish Krona. It helps that the register clearly displays how much you owe.
There is a recycling area. I love how organized this supermarket is. I felt at home there.
