I came in the afternoon to speak to Carlos (after having been referred by Mario at Fresno tire pros - another 5 star review for them as well) at Mastertech who took great care of me! I was on a long road trip up from San Diego (having come in from a camping event) and it was found there was an oil leakage. Carlos fit me in immediately the next day and it turned out the leak was much less extensive than originally thought. He told me it was a matter of a really minor part that needed to be fixed, and I was on my way! He was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and really on top of things. My dad went here because he was recommended this place. He took his truck in and was quoted 175 and hour for three hours. The diagnostic alone was 800+ dollars. He was then quoted about 4,000 dollars to get this problem fixed, which was definitely out of the budget. Reluctantly, he paid the diagnostic fee and left the shop, and minutes later was contacted by an employee who introduced himself as Renato Aceves. He explains to my dad how he personally worked on his truck for the diagnostic and how he could do the same job for a lot cheaper at his own house. He reassured that he had the same equipment and how he was a "professional". My dad, agreed and that same day we went over to his house to leave a $ 600 deposit(total job $2,300) and my dad was also requested a receipt of the job. At this point, he's explaining what needs to be fixed, needs to be changed, and what parts need to be ordered. At home, my dad does his own research about the problem that was discussed and realizes that unnecessary parts are being "changed." When we finally got the truck back, my dad checks the truck and realizes that he was being charged for parts that were going to be changed that were never even touched. He refuses to give money back. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone . It's cheaper to go to the dealership. There work is not professionally done right. We paid upfront with which was really ignorant on our part . cause they used all the money for ?? lets just say 3 hrs to change spark plugs hmm , the labor alone was big time $$$$ . they did not finish the job . Thinking we had $ left in the est. we took it back to get the job done right well 11,00$ for a brake job!!!! later . We paid our bill and learned our lesson. next time we will check for references next time . I just wanted to share our experiences with anyone who has mechanical problems.Be careful who you choose. I had an Audi A4 that Michael's serviced while it was under warranty, but it never ran like I thought it should. The turbo stalled out a lot, but after bringing it up 4 separate times when I took it in, they always said there was nothing wrong with it. I got introduced to Phil and had him do an oil change and checkup on it. He called me and asked how long the turbo had been acting up and when the last time I had the air filter changed. When I told him Michael's had been taking care of it, he said it looked like they never touched it, which had been over 2 years. Needless to say, he cleaned it all up, got the turbo dialed in, and it ran as good as the day I bought it when I picked it up. He now takes care of all of my cars and every family member in town goes to him, too. I took my 2002 Saturn vue v6 3.0 to get the ac clutch and condenser replaced for new ones calls me back about a week later say he they flush the system and there was no luck That if I replaced everthing it would be better then phill told me the running car would need to be there another week for all this work to be done I understand there's more there one car but I also know there more then one mechanic over there.. I said screw that and when to get my car to pay a bill of 1300 for a fuse box witch was only three bolts and plug and play... and a fan blower motor switch... won't not recommend..... still hard to find honest work... as a kid you like it but as he learned there's also bills read more
