I don't remember how we found Top Styles but when we first moved in the area I needed to find a…read morebarber for my son. Either the shop was recommended or we just walked in; regardless my son is happy with his barber. The shop is located right off IL 159 and Ashland in the shopping center (same side as the car wash). They have 5-7 barbers and a few beauticians. This review is mainly about the barbers, I've never used their beautician services. I normally don't seat and wait for my son to get his hair cut but when I do it's not a bad experience. It can be a long wait depending on the day and time. I try not to go on a weekend day (Friday-Saturday). Between the television and/or the barber shop conversation, it makes the time go by. They do accept appointments ($5 extra) but most of their clientele are walk ins. Unlike other barber shops; they're open on Sunday's. Best to go in and find the right barber for you and your needs. Everyone has a different technic. At the end of the day... As long as we're staying in the area, we will definitely go back.

In the end, zero blending/fading happened, random long hairs on all sides, and a huge divot in the right side of his head. Extremely noticeable. An hour later, my son was scratching his ears--behind them was not washed at all--covered in hairs as if he just got them cut 2 min ago. Absolutely poor.

On June 11, 2026, I was in urgent need of a trim since I had plans the following day. While searching online, I came across this barbershop. I had only ever trusted two barbers in the past, so trying somewhere new was a bit outside my comfort zone. However, both of my usual barbers were unavailable at the time, and it was already around 7 PM, so I decided to give this place a chance. I'm extremely glad I did. The experience exceeded my expectations, and the results were exactly what I had been looking for. My hair went from flat and thick to a well-textured, styled cut that looks great and is much easier to manage. A special thank you to Marlana for the excellent work--I truly appreciate it. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning in the future.
