I'm learning a martial art that is both beautiful and lethal and has improved my health in terms of durability and longevity. I got t-boned 3 years ago at a high rate of speed, not survivable by some. The controlled impact from our classes prepared my body to withstand the trauma. And when I was most consistent with their training, my pulse rate got down to 47 bpm. At 65 years old now they accept my limitations while encouraging my progress. They attract awesome students too!

It's almost been two years since going to my first class at Muay Boran Hawaii and it has nothing but positive for me. I've learned so much about the art of Muay Thai and about myself. Since joining back in 2022 I've lost about 18 pounds and myself confidence has grown a lot. So far my experience has been amazing! Kru Dan and Coach Chad give each and every student in the class attention and showing all of us the right and correct technique. The best part is Kru Dan and Coach Chad are always willing to give the extra time and effort for everyone before and after class to work on technique or just talk about the art of Muay Thai.

I love working with her in person- she tunes right into my energy levels and pumps me up to get the best work out possible. Even during the pandemic when we switched to virtual training, I could still feel that motivation to perform and push harder! To be more specific, Colo has taught me basic Kali, some jeet kun do, boxing, knife safety/short distance weaponry and weightlifting. She is super informative in all these areas and has even more to share to anyone interested!

You'll be challenged but you won't be out of your depth. When I was challenged with learning something, Colo was always so encouraging! Her sessions are always fun and I'd always look forward to seeing her. I also love that she is so easy to communicate with! She responds via SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, email and IG, and we're able to set up and confirm our sessions. This communication is so important. Especially for virtual sessions. Finally, I'm also grateful to Colo because when I was injured roller skating and had to stop my training, she was very good about reaching out to me and giving me advice. I miss our sessions so much, Colo and hoping to return to training with you once I get the green light.

I visited Mad Tiger on a weekday gi class and am impressed - Prof Eric and three of his awesome students (2x blue, 1x brown belt) welcomed me with open arms. The instructions from Prof Eric were situationally based that I could easily relate and practice. Rolling followed and you can easily assess the quality of the gym and instructor by the way students roll, especially with an out of town visitor - they practiced restraint and control, instead of cranking down to execute a submission (where injuries can occur) or using unscrupulous (i.e. butthole) techniques, ensuring everyone was able to have a good grappling session. Located in a converted warehouse in a residential area, close to Wheeler Army Airbase (Wahiawa), MTA has the vibe of an old school academy with a great professor and students. I know where I'll be visiting when I travel to Hawaii.
