Big W and Woolies take up about 75 percent of the place and the remaining stores are independent stores. With the exception of Eb Games and Jeanswest, I hand't even heard of the remaining stores. Perhaps, I should go back and check them out, but the one time that I visited the place was after 5pm and not surprising the only two stores open were Big W and Woolworths. I guess it's a mall for local residents as it does have Australia Post and a medical centre in addition to local fruit market, florist and newsagent.

Maybe it is because it is one of those places where you can stroll through and I can then say that I have been there, and as such I can then write a review on it. Well, as far as shopping centres go, in particular Westfield shopping Centres, this one really isn't all that big. Still, they have everything that you would expect in a shopping centre, and a reasonable range of shops, as far as shopping centres go of course. Not surprisingly they are all big name brands as well.

The name Westfield is derived from "west" related to the West-Sydney location, and "field" due to having located on subdivided farmland. But this one in Burwood was close to follow, called Westfield Shoppingtown back then. Went back to check it out in November 2012, and it looked a little hokey and cramped. Things seem so big when you are small. Who would want to grocery shop here now? Seems a little bit like a relic, and the stores are kinda lame now. Wish I could give it more than two stars. Wikipedia says that Westfield Group currently has interests in total assets worth Aus$58 billion, owning 119 shopping malls in four countries - Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States - with over 10 million square meters of retail space. It is the world's largest retail property group. I've never heard this, but it seems to me they want to have the name Westfield synonymous with the term "mall", so they drop the word "mall" from the name of a shopping center they buy and refurbish. There are huge Westfields in Santa Ana near where I live, and Topanga Canyon in LA for example that had their name changed from "mall".

So, we have this shopping centre here, which isn't too bad, and has a good variety of shops. Then again pretty much all of the shops that you find here are basically shops that you would find is pretty much most shopping centres, so I guess variety doesn't always count.

When I came back to Bass Hill to use my voucher at Cinch? The voucher was past the 3 months validity date. Although I understand this policy, there was no consideration into other factors and the owner and salesperson refused to honour the voucher of the same amount of money by spent at the store in the first place. Actually disgusting as money value remains. No other solution or help given. According to Fair Trading, many vouchers and credit notes have an expiration of 3 years. And to add to the good collection is the pricing. They are so affordable and genuine. Every time you go to a boutique shop one is just expected to pay top dollar for the most routine things. At Cinch they believe that one can be fashion savvy yet at the same time budget conscious too. This is something that works for me and not once have I been disappointed at Cinch. I have been able to find very appropriate clothes for all occasions from party wear to just street wear. Funky clothing to classy clothing - it's all there for you. Also the staff - I should mention are so friendly. There are at least two to three everytime I have gone there. There is always someone present if you can't find your size or anything else for that matter. I think this makes all the difference - how many times you just didn't even try things or just left from the store just because you couldn't be bothered to go and find someone to help.. I have. Well try Cinch, you won't be disappointed .
