My daughters have been taking karate lessons from Master Pattillo for 1.5 years. They are currently senior blue belts, and are excited at the prospect of progressing to their black belts in the future. We have seen them grow in both skill and in confidence. With each class, they become more self-aware, learn to persist even when a skill is difficult to master, and they just have fun! His emphasis on developing physical skills is nicely complemented by the "words of the week", where he discusses concepts such as humility, respect, self-control, and diligence. I normally don't write many reviews, but this exceptional martial arts school is well deserving of a good one. My son had asked to take karate for awhile and then we got the chance to try some classes here. My son immediately loved it, and one year later that has not changed. Master Pattillo is an excellent instructor who cares about his students and strives to teach them as best as possible. The patience he has for all the kids is amazing. My son will grow up under his tutelage, and that makes my husband and I very happy as he is a good man and worth emulating. I started attending this school in 2006 at the age of 12. I am 21 years old and have just earned my black belt 2nd Dan. I still enjoy attending class all these years later. The instructor is friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable on the history of his technique. I have made lots of friends here, including the instructor, and I even met my fiancé here when we were 12. Since I first began training with Master Pattillo, I have gained better self confidence, I am more patient, and I have valuable self defense skills.
