I called Richard Myles Painting to do the work. Rick showed up on time and did a truely professional job. Rick also repainted a skylight and ceiling in one of our bathrooms, but one of the things that impressed me the most, besides the quality of his work, was his knowledge of the materials he uses. I texted him weekly and his response each week was, "next week, Wednesday at the latest". This occurred every week during March and into the third week of April 2019. The last week of April 2019, my husband called Mr. Healey's phone (a cell phone number), and told him that he had not started the job, nor showed any sign or intention of starting the job, despite having our money for over eight weeks. My husband told Mr. Healey that we were not happy with being delayed week after week for two months and that we wanted our money returned. Mr. Healey said that he understood. However, he has to date (8/4/19), never returned our money and no longer responds to our attempts to communicate with him in order to resolve this situation. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and with Maura Healey, the Massachusetts State Attorney General. Consumers, beware! Richard Healey the painting contractor is not a trust-worthy business owner. We suggest that you find another painter and do not give a penny in down payment, as you very well may have the same experience. By giving him our check, we expected that the agreement would be honored. Instead, we are out $1,200.00!! And now moving on to court proceedings.

We had a small but complicated job to paint den and bathroom ceilings and the bathroom walls, after electrical work had left a number of holes and needed some ceiling reconstruction. Other painters we talked to wanted plasterers to come before them.  Charlie brings equal skill and enthusiasm to both which IMO is critically important in case something turns out to need fixing once the job starts.  He does exactly but only what's necessary, to keep the quality up and the cost down. The result was outstanding.  We intend to hire him for future work. He has my highest recommendation. If you have ever had (or tried to have) work done around your house, you've no doubt experienced frustration and downright agony. Refreshingly, Charlie demonstrated professionalism during every step.
