Called to get a consultation for 3 tattoos total, two for me and one for my friend. My friends turned out great the girl was so nice & perfect work. However mine were not so great. My artist (not sure his name) went too deep into my skin causing me intense pain, shading was awful and ink started to spread within the layers of my skin (see pic) I thought maybe it was just me and the area I picked but thennn I decided to get a second tattoo while I was already there & just the same. Hurting me and went too deep. Not only did he cause me intensive pain and scaring this man had me lay down to do a butt tattoo and now it is misshaped and I can not get it fixed. This was such an awesome experience!! Walked in with a vision. Kika helped me make that into a really cool piece of art. Was in and out in like 45 minutes, and that's no comment on the talent! He was so skilled, struck up an awesome conversation, and gave me a great piece. I'm still blown away about his eye for detail with my reference piece. I watched him as he drew up the stencil and added details on the spot. I'll be sure to add more pictures once I'm healed up a bit. Me and my girlfriend came in for a couple crane tattoos last night, granted a little late into the evening but Kika agreed to do them even though it was a little late. However, Kika underdelivered slightly on the shading and line work of my girlfriend's tattoo, he vastly underwhelmed me with my shading and coloring on mine. There are lines missing and disconnected and the shading of the shadow and color is very disappointing. I couldn't tell how it looked in the shop because I bled, but when I got home and took the Saran Wrap off, it dawned on me. I sweated shirtless a lot by the time he was finished and when it was my girlfriend's turn in the chair, he didn't wipe it down at all. Lastly Kika and his other two tattoo artists made it clear with their banter to each other that they weren't happy about staying a little later and forced him to do both of our tattoo. If you didn't have time to do it the way you (and more importantly, the way we wanted) you shouldn't have just told us to come back tomorrow instead of rushing and missing the mark. read more

Went in for a small dainty finger tattoo. Was met with unprofessionalism. No consent forms or stenciling was performed. The artist just drew whatever HE wanted on MY body. This included tell me to "hold my breath" and digging a randomly line into my leg as he laughed. I literally said "no" before he did this and he still did! He randomly added colors and stars/hearts that I also did not ask for without making sure it was okay with me. When I asked for a refund i was called "retarded". I don't feel comfortable going back for him to fix it because another shop honor saw the piece and knew exactly who did it and says he often covers up this artists work! Very unprofessional. Paid $400 for this crap and he constantly made sexual comments towards me like calling my legs sexy. I got uncomfortable and laughed it off and then he complained that I didn't speak up. Not everyone is confrontational. Now I'm out $400 and have to pay $900 for a cover up. Keep in mind this was a TRIBUTE tattoo that was really sentimental to me and he just did whatever he wanted. Please do not bother going here. My boyfriend and I were so excited to get our pieces only to be devastated with the results. None of the equipment was sanitized, the tattoos were rushed, and I don't even think I really have to explain what is wrong with the tattoo but it's literally UNFINISHED and the details don't even make sense??? This was done by the head tattoo artist and after looking at other reviews, theres no doubt that he willingly/knowingly gave me a bad tattoo. I know he could've done better but instead he decided to give me the great value version of what I asked for. I went to a different tattoo shop to see what they could do to help me fix it and they were at a loss of words. Still in the process of trying to figure out how to fix it. I got a tattoo right before I headed into rehab. It was awful, ineligible and a constant reminder of shame. (It said "Ask me Another?) I dreaded seeing it in the mirror everyday. Today after 4 1/2 years, an amazing artist named Kika covered the tears of pain and made me cry tears of joy with a beautiful piece of art of a butterfly, flowers and my self healing back. I could have never dreamed of it being so beautiful. He then even covered a small one on my back with a beautiful palm tree. Crazy thing is, I gave him free will for that one. He had listened to my stories of my children and how my oldest just got a palm tree so he gave me one too. It may be a tattoo too some but it was a whole new healing aneurysm for me. If I could give no stars I would. I went in and got an outline of a heart, the artist (the owner) I had was going to freehand the tattoo, I asked him to please have a blueprint and he grabbed a marker and drew a heart behind my ear,,, free hand, It took a lot of convincing to get him to print one out then he tattooed me and as soon as the tattoo healed it was easy to see the terrible broken line work. For a tattoo this small and not even filled in, I expected to pay around $50-$60 but It costed me $100 for a not even 1x1 inch tattoo. Do not go here. read more

I provided a description of a tattoo that I wanted much like the first picture shown. The quick sketch that was drawn up I don't have a picture of, however, it was fairly similar minus the crescent moon where I wanted it. The stencil was made and applied to my arm and I didn't love it but I just said to myself trust the process this is a tattoo artist they know what they're doing. When the tattoo was finished I thought I liked it and left, it's really hard telling before it heals. As the tattoo was healing I noticed that I had crater like effects where the artist had gone too deep and it caused a lot of pain. As each day went on I noticed more and more things that I did not like about this tattoo- the broom bristles are not pointed or shaggy it literally looks like a whip or the end of a makeup brush does not look like a witches broom, there are spots where the lines are missing, the braid effect is not at all what I wanted I wanted a stick effect, there are spots on the tattoo where the ink is outside of the lines, I wanted a grim reaper scythe and instead I got a farmer's scythe. I did look at all portfolios before deciding on a shop because as a walk-in you can end up with any artist so I wanted to make sure I get a good one no matter what. I know that good artists can do bad tattoos. I feel as if the artist was just not into my tattoo design idea and that's why it turned out the way that it did. And if that's the case the artist should have turned down business and I could have gone elsewhere to an artist who was as excited as I was about the design and saw my vision as I did. I was charged $300 for this tattoo that I absolutely despise. It took approximately an hour to complete. I don't feel as though the work applied was worth the cost. I really don't see a possible way to get this fixed and may have to consider laser removal and trying again with someone who can bring my vision to life. I do want to point out that the atmosphere of the shop was amazing and the artist had an incredible personality. I do not want to discredit their work as a whole as I think they're a phenomenal artist, I just feel as though my piece just wasn't "it". read more

This place is a joke. The owner who happened to do my tattoo is a clown. I went in to get a small tattoo on my hand I was charged the shop minimum fee. Cool. 2 weeks pass the tattoo is hardly visible. So I go by the shop and talk to kilka about it. His exact words were "well tattoos fade" smh. Sure I guess if you did it with a sharpie then it would fade in 2 weeks. Then says he would have to charge me to do it again. Yea right, pay twice for one trash tattoo. i understand that this is a walk in shop and is not going to be the highest quality as someone who takes appointments only and can plan and prepare but i feel like the price should reflect the quality, which my tattoo does not. i showed the artist what i wanted and where i wanted it and he did not seem to have an issue with the design or placement whatsoever. this was a pretty painful placement so i didn't watch him most if the time. it was only at the end did i see what it looked like. i was so disappointed. he also added shading when i did not say i wanted it there and white highlights when i also did not say i wanted them. the tattoo ended up being $240 with tip. the filling is patchy and the black is obviously thinned out and is basically gray. he outlined it with a darker black than he filled it in with and u can tell. it also seems as though the white highlight was used to cover up a place he accidentally colored on? the shadows that he added are an inconsistent style or something but theyre very obviously different. i am just really upset and feel taken advantage of. the guy was nice but this was very sloppy. read more

I use to like this place but I'm never coming here again. I got a piercing under my tongue 5 days later it came out while I was eating. It happened around 12pm. They don't open until 2 unless it's Friday. I work 8-5. I can't just leave work to come here. Within that time I'm moving around clearly. I thought I had my ring & lost it. I wasted $80. I went to Master Minds about a couple weeks ago for a nose piercing & Ian was phenomenal! It was my first "legit" piercing besides my ears that my aunt did when I was a baby lol & he made me feel so comfortable! He even made sure to wipe away my tears (not actual crying tears I swear lol) The piercing came out perfect and it is healing great, no pain at all. 10/10 would not recommend this shop. I scheduled an appointment with the owner for an artist at the shop and after driving an hour to the shop the artist had no idea why I was there and wasn't even wanting to do my tattoo. I had already driven an hour so I settled for getting a small tattoo I had been wanting and I was way over charged for a pretty easy tattoo. The owner made several snide remarks about the tattoo I was getting and in general it was not a well run shop. They also never asked for an id or had me fill out any sort of paperwork. I got my first ink this afternoon and both Kika and Gil made my experience super easy and comfortable. They asked me a lot of questions, drew a design, tweaked the picture a bit, resized and moved the location of the tattoo until I was happy. Only come to this establishment if you want poor customer service and neglect. My tattoo artist was kind enough, but I arrived with a group of people, 3 of whom also got tattoos. A female artist refused to tattoo my partner when she found out that my partner wanted a tattoo on her hip. Instead of explaining why, she just said "No," and handed my partner's design to the woman who worked at the front counter. She also tried to kick 3 paying customers out of the space because it was "too crowded" although she later admitted that the store wasn't crowded at all compared to the day before. None of my friends who got tattoos received any after care instructions. None of the artists bandaged our tattoos or applied any ointment. This was my third tattoo and my worst experience. So, if you like getting treated horribly and sent off without any regard for your healing, come to Master Minds. I wish I could leave a zero star review. read more
