This is a large station with large overhanging covers on both sides of the platforms, which is pretty excellent because a lot of the stations in South Wales don't have anything like that. It's right between two level crossings, and lots of cars are driving across the tracks on both sides of the station, which you would think would be a little bit treacherous, but it hasn't been too bad so far because it's quite well run. It hasn't changed much since the 70s, and looks almost identical except for some of the colouring on some of the overhangs. There were some riots here in 1911. Some people have been shot dead by the British military right at this spot, and the riots are a dark stain on the history of the UK, which hasn't really changed - they've just gotten better at controlling people.
