Found this gem of a place while researching things to do while exploring the Puglia region. We did not know it at the time, but masserias (or farms) are a big attraction for visiting the region. No wonder why all the food we had here was fresh and delicious.
This masseria boasted some of the oldest olive trees in the world, including one that is over 3000 years old and still producing fruit! Amazing!
The tour of the grounds and the old presses was fun and informative. And the best part is that you do get to taste the olive oil from the masseria, and it was delicious. There was one olive oil that was infused with lemon that is great on salads. We wish we had bought more! read more
