As a foodie, I had also heard about the legendary tasting dinners. As a catering executive for 25 years, I offer this input: the portions are way too large! I felt like I was wasting so much food. A tasting ot degustation menu should be comprised of considerably smaller servings. The food was ok, but not anything exceptional. The sweet and sour cabbage dish topped with cod in almond sauce was quite bizarre and for me, not very appealing. Same with fava bean purée served with tomatoes, peppers, grapes and melon. The room accommodations were cozy and well supplied. Would have loved to sit outside and relax more, but the presence of biting flies made it too uncomfortable-- not your fault.

The Borgo is perfect in every way. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and aperitivo are abundant in choices, quality, relaxing, efficient and friendly. Cocktails are served with tasty nibbles. Breakfast is a room filled with a feast of morning delicacies. The property is massive. Walking through the property the Borgo is a village with many pools, restaurants, fitness center and a world class spa. We enjoyed massage services at the spa as well as the fitness facility. When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff. The resort looks like a historic site. To me, it looks like a place where the author F. Scott Fitzgerald might have been inspired to write about Jay Gatsby's lavish parties. What makes this place incredible is how attentive the staff truly are. I would give the hotel property 4 stars, plus 1 more star for the staff. So 5 stars total! Pros: Free Wifi, Pool, bar, breakfast, Air Conditioning, amazing friendly staff Cons: Unfortunately, they don't serve dinner. But that's ok, it's an opportunity for you to check out the local restaurants.
