Legitimately one of the worst massages I've ever had. Can say with a good amount of certainty that the woman who gave me my 'massage' did not go to a legitimate massage school, if any. Did anyone check her credentials before hiring her? The whole experience felt like an amalgamation of stuff she might've picked up from watching other people give massages. Example: starting with a weird pinching motion up and down my back (odd as hell) then moving to hands & arms. Most massage therapists don't get to hands/arms until much later. Nary a single knot was kneaded. It was like she didn't notice them or even know what to do. She was pleasant enough but it was a waste of money. When the young lady at the front desk asked the obligatory 'how was your massage' and I said 'unusual', there was nothing but a blank look on her face followed by a monotone 'that's weird, she one of our most popular therapists'. You can't be serious. Pair that with the fact that the ladies room was both dirty and out of every paper product possible and I can honestly say that this was an awful first time experience here and there wont be a second. Was checked in and taken to the waiting area, waited for about 20 minutes after my appointment time and the masseur never came. Had to walk back out and all I was told was "yeah we'd have to reschedule". Not sure what the issue was nor was I given an explanation, but at the point I just left. I tried to book an appointment over the phone and no one picked up so I went to the place the very next day as soon as they opened up and I noticed that there were clients already standing outside along with other employees and had been waiting 20 minutes outside in the hot heat because one of the receptionists had been running late. Today I went in for an hour Swedish massage. I arrived a bit early and i used the HydroMassage for 30mins until my appt time. I scheduled for 12pm and I did not get called back until about 12:05/12:08ish. There was a midday rush out of nowhere. Once taken to my room and on the table we noticed my bed did not have a warmer on it and the room was extremely cold. On top of no bed warmer, the oil was cold as well... every massage I've ever received the oil is a lil warm or at least room temp so that did not help me relax on top of the light being on 40mins into the massage I also mentioned the fitness was a bit too firm and she continued to kneed into my back with her elbows. I went for a full body massage. They did not do my thighs. Went from an inch above my knee to my arms. When I asked the masseuse she literately told me it was illegal to do thighs . Nonsense. She continued to argue with me. I got up and left. At the front desk they told me they do to the mid thigh. This masseuse didn't touch my thighs. Then they want to charge me for a full body massage. I finally tried this place and I'm luke warm with my opinion. I read the other reviews but was hopeful that this might become my regular place as it is very close to my house. I get massages regularly, however I will not go here again. The good: scheduling is easy with a convenient online system. Everything was clean & quiet. Staff were pleasant. The bad: As others stated, my massage/in-room time was NOT 1-hour. I arrived more than 10 minutes early & quickly completed my paperwork while I sat. My masseuse came to get me at about 9:07. I was getting dressed at 9:52. I can only guess that this is their grift or scam. They do not build in cushion between appointments to flip the room. Advertising a one-hour massage should mean you are being serviced for an hour. My masseuse seemed inexperienced. Her name was Doris, I think. I got a standard Swedish massage. Things started good with firm pressure (as requested) and she checked in with me. By the time I flipped, it just felt like she was rubbing lotion on me. I've also never had a massage where they don't try to do some kind of alignment check to determine where your areas of tension are. It was basic at best. I would not go back, even in a pinch. Sure wish I could give negative stars! I am a longtime member of MassageLuxe and I have stayed with them because their service at salons other than this one were a cut above. But my experience at this salon is definitely below standard. A recent massage at this Palm Beach Gardens salon was the worst I have ever had so I guess good help and good management are both hard to find these days. The Receptionist's attitude was disengaged, indifferent, and clearly said that she would rather be watching paint dry than provide good customer service. The masseuse was definitely less than: poor technique, inexperienced, stopped before he had provided a full body massage, and used the worst massage lotion/oil I have ever smelled. The horrid scent is still in my car more than 12 hours later! I drove 30 miles one way to get to this (closest) salon and now see that I will need to drive an additional 38 miles one way to get to a salon that I know upholds the MassageLuxe standard. This will either become a full day's trip for me or I cancel my membership. I realize that each salon is independently owned and operated, but I always thought that MassageLuxe had a certain standard that had to be maintained at ALL salons. But I guess not.... I've been having bi-weekly massages and hot stones here for the past few months now with Susan, and it has been wonderful. She is really attentive in ensuring I am comfortable and regularly checks in to see if the pressure level is ok or if the hot stones she uses are not too hot to be painful or uncomfortable. She has been a great help in reducing the muscle aches that I get from sitting from long periods of time at my job or from stresses I have been going through lately. I always look forward to my appointment with her, because I know that she will help loosen up any knots I pick up between visits. read more

And if on Groupon said 1 hour massage that it has to be 1 hour massage, otherwise let people know that it's 50 min massage and 10 min consultation on the Groupon highlight!!!! I had the monthly membership for the spa. Where you pay monthly for a one hour of service of either a massage or a facial. If you do not use it then the hours accumulate on your account. I had not been to the spa for months and I knew I had 3 hrs service. When I called for my appt the receptionist told me that I only had one hour. I told her that could not be possible and she stated that last time I was there it was on February where a facial for a 2 hour service was used. When she told me of the day of service I immediately knew it wasn't me. I requested to speak to the manager and the manager stated that they had a SOAP note and that they don't make those type of mistakes. She stated that she would talk to the higher ups and give me a call back. Meantime, I made my appt for the following day. I received no call backs that day. I called back the day of my appt early that morning and again they stated the same thing that it was impossible for someone else to use my account and that by the time of my appt the problem would be solved. I go to my appointment and the problem is not solved. The front desk lady goes to talk to the manager and the manager says we're gonna comp the facial this time. Like they were trying to do me a favor. A good response would have been. "We apologize for the inconvenience. Here are the two hours of service that someone used under your name back into your account". Instead, the manager never got up from her chair in her office and just spoke through the walls. I had to be the one that went to her. She was rude and unprofessional. Never apologize and let the front desk deal with the situation. By the way, there's a sign in the front desk that says that they will check for your ID upon check-in. My ID was never checked, which I'm sure is how the mistakes are happening and people are using other people's account. Needless to say, I canceled my membership and won't be coming back. read more

Unfortunately, the massage did not meet our expectations and I left the establishment at 5:19 even more tense than when I arrived, feeling extremely frustrated. To add to the frustration, I had to go back to the front desk because they charged me twice for the massage, but thankfully I saw it on my phone and went back to solve it. I left before my husband because I did not even want to stay there - that was how frustrated I was. In addition, they were going to charge my husband twice as well. I did not mention this in my initial comment, but since you are suggesting that I am not telling the truth, I wanted to provide you with more information. This is my regular spot to relieve the pain and stress of every day life! I do love the clean space and warm atmosphere. The fact that it's in the Alton shopping complex makes it a great place to spend a lot of time--food, drinks, desserts, groceries, pampering, & eventually home maintenance. But back to MassageLuxe! I have tried other membership massage places over the years, and this, by far, has been my best experience for deep tissue massages. Ruben is THE MAN! I have requested him for over a year now, and he never disappoints. For perspective, I've been to 3 other massage therapists (purely out of necessity) but always go back to Ruben. He is always a professional, he asks and listens to what your needs are prior to starting any massage, he tailors your time to where you need it most, and he makes it easy to get to know him personally. The staff is usually welcoming and helpful. The waiting room is well appointed and peaceful. I do appreciate having the cookies and tea back and hope they stay even during this virus resurgence. Speaking of which, my only concern is probably the relaxed restrictions for such an intimate service. Masks are not required or worn by the staff or other customers. Such is our new world? Still, I feel like they are doing what they can to prevent the spread. If you are a paying member, the added benefit is the unlimited access to the water massage bed! Great for when you just happen to walk by! Prices are pretty high for non-members, and as far as I'm concerned, this is a worthwhile expense. read more

I just had the worst spa experience of my life at Massageluxe. Whatever you do, don't join their "sucker club". To start, I tried to cancel my membership 3 times before it was cancelled. They just continued to bill me. I went in to try to use up my credit and the therapist used the first 14 minutes of my time to talk about some stupid mumbo jumbo. Then she said she was not tall enough to reach so she had me scoot to the edge of the table so my head was uncomfortably tilted to the side for most of the massage. Then she complained several times during the massage about how hard she had worked on me. I had filled out on the form that I did not want her to touch my feet because I had cut my foot that day but of course, she felt the need to mess with my feet. The place smells like mold. Consumer Beware!! The massage was nice, but unfortunately there is a frequent turn over rate with the experienced Masseus. After canceling my membership, prior to the pandemic, I called to schedule a massage. I was told that the cost for a 60 minute massage, with hot stones, which included the hydro bed, would be $100.00. At check out, the front desk tried all kinds of sales tactics, to coerce me into purchasing another membership, and even held on to my credit card information, that I cancelled, due to their fraudulent, billing practices attempts, even after canceling membership. The cost of the 60 minute massage, was inflated to $115.00, and then tried to squeeze an additional $1.00/min for the hydro table. While we did check in at 3:53 pm and check out at 5:41 pm, I do want to clarify that my massage experience was not a full 90 minutes. Although I was scheduled to start at 4:00 pm, I was not seen by the masseuse until 4:15 pm. To add to that, the masseuse finished my massage at 5:21 pm, which does not make 90 minutes. This was disappointing as I had specifically requested a 90-minute deep tissue massage, but the massage was very soft, even after requesting more pressure multiple times. My wife was also charged twice and the same was going to happen to me if she had not seen and come back to solve it. Worst experience ever! My mom bought us Groupons for full Swedish massages. The guy who massaged me worked on my shoulders and neck and some of my back but didn't even work on the rest of my body or even had me flip over, or even touch my feed Then he said I was done and it was like 45 minutes. He also had a deep cough a couple times so that creeped me out because of Covid . At the end , I told the woman at the front what happen and she said Manager would contact me like I was lying . I've been in constant pain going on 4 days. I decided to try out MassageLuXe with their 49$ special. I am not someone who is a massage regular so I didn't have too many expectations going in. Now, I am kicking myself for not stopping the massage and leaving. I have been in constant pain since Saturday. With the amount of red flags, I almost blame myself but decided to write this review because their massage therapists could actually injure someone. From the little things (cold oil, lights on for most of massage, therapist being bare foot, no warm towel after) to actually causing me physical pain, 10/10 would not come again. My therapist was essentially rubbing my spine and claimed that "that is the source of a lot of tension" which she admitted to never being taught but rather she just knew to do it "intuitively". She had the same approach to my jaw and base of my skull. Never have I left a massage in more pain then I went in with. Will not be back. read more

But since you're going there and laying blame on my mother, let me remind you that to other employees helped her signed me up because it was a new process for her the first time she had ever signed someone up for a plan. My issue was not with the plan, it was that it took four phone calls to get your staff to understand that I did not want to keep my plan for obvious reasons. Going forward, perhapsIt would be a good idea to have some sort of system in place so that if a client cancels they don't receive additional phone calls about promos, their plan, etc. read more

I've been to plenty of spas throughout my life and I have to say Massgeluxe is the absolute WORST. Don't waste your time or money going here. They take away your monthly massage or facial if you cancel your membership. They make up excuses to try and cover their ass but they're so bad at lying that you end up paying whatever just to leave that awful spa. I received a call from one of their front desk girls, Lizzy and told me I had two packages in my account so I booked a massage and facial. Before I went into my sessions they told me I had two in my account. I was set. Ok. I come out of my sessions and I told them I wanted to cancel my membership as my esthetician is no longer there. Lizzy asked who. Which I thought was a little weird because what does it matter? I told her who and then all of a sudden my two hours were mysteriously gone. I also had a 30 minute package because I brought someone in and they said that that person didn't sign up when they did because I LIVE WITH HIM. It's so sad to see a business owner and management tell their employees to take packages away because they can't get over that their only esthetician at the time had enough of their bullshit. The owner also owns a school and the reviews about her are so spot on. It's a real shame that a brand new spa in our area is such a let down. Thank god there are far more better ones out there. I started out going due to shoulder issues that radiated down my arm. The massages did help. I signed up for the 'program' where they bill you automatically and was told if I wanted to end just let them know before the next billing. I did 4 mons, and in April after my visit, advised the person at the counter I didn't want to book a May visit and wanted to stop the auto billing. She wanted to know why and there wasn't anything negative, I just didn't want to drive out there anymore and use the money for other things and my pain issue was resolved. The lady said something about getting an email but I never got one and didn't think anything of it until I reviewed my statement and saw I was billed for May and June. Now I am told they can only refund one month back because their 'systems' won't go back any farther than that. Be careful about the auto billing! It is crazy a manager has to stop the billing and you have to fill out a form--you can't even do it AT the center! The person didn't advise the manager I wanted to stop and that is why I didn't get the email. I get to pay for a employee's mistake.
