It's not worth the frustration. In the past 6 months I've had 3 cancellations due to "sick" therapists. Just today I received a call that a therapist can't do my massage because "she doesn't do 90 minute massages" - mind you, it's been scheduled for a month. Also, if you're looking for a last minute massage (by last minute I mean anything within two weeks) forget it. They are woefully understaffed, I have more than a dozen points that I can't use because they keep cancelling appointments or are unable to find an opening. Run the other way. read more

To be honest most of the lower star reviews are fairly accurate. The membership IS NOT worth it purely due to the fact that there are never any appointments available. Most of the employees are okay, some of them are a little immature and not very professional but overall the staff quality is mediocre. I had a membership for well over a year and decided to cancel after an incident I had with massage envy (see below). I set up an appointment, well in advance (several weeks), before the actual date. On the day of the massage, I arrived early as I'm told to do, only to be informed that my masseuse had quit and my appointment was cancelled. Ideally this wouldn't be an issue IF 1) I was called beforehand and told so I didn't have to drive 20 minutes to the nearest massage envy 2) If I was compensated with an additional credit to make of for THEIR error 3) If massage envy upheld their own damn policy that require you to call at least 2 hours in advance before cancelling an appointment. I'm more frustrated over that fact that I'm a paying customer and was treated poorly on top of the fact that they can't even follow their own damn rules. For the price of a massage and the type of service you're likely to receive (if you ever get booked), you're better off going elsewhere in town. Massage envy has been a terrible experience. Cindy owns the franchise and I visited with her today. My husband bought me a $200 gift card for Christmas, and I have attempted to use it on 12 different occasions. They oversold gift cards during the holidays and are unable to accommodate the demand, especially for working people during nights and weekends. Cindy refused to refund my gift card nor did she try and find a way to help. She made excuses, cited training issues, and refused to share her corporate office phone number. I am disappointed in her ability to provide customer service or resolutions- instead she hides behind unwritten "policies" so she can keep your money. She should expect that I will file a small claims case as a matter of principle. Do not waste your time or money- many better massage experiences in Waco. read more

This Massage Envy is awful. My husband and I had a year long membership and were treated horribly even as members. The people who run it are clearly in it for the money and could care less about customer service. One time We waited 5 hours for a massage and they were not going give us any sort of compensation or refund. We were willing to go eat and do some shopping until they could get us in. One of our massage therapists was stuck in traffic. The next time we went we were a few minutes late and they made a big deal about our massage would be 20 minutes less since we were late. Christina is the absolute best!! She helped me recover from bicep tendinitis, which prevented me from playing sports and conducting daily activities for almost half a year. With that said, It saddens me to say that this location has become more and more of a pain aside from her. This involves trying to call and make an appointment and they are constantly completely booked out over a month in advance??? I've never experienced this at any massage envy. I'd love to use my points based on my membership but I am not able to book appointments months in advance due to work. I was so excited to have a Massage Envy in Waco, but after a year-long membership where I've now accumulated 10-12 "credits" I would have to warn anyone who wants to join to seriously reconsider. First, the local office seems to have very limited availability--you really have to book 3-4 weeks out. (And note, that one time I DID book that far in advance only to find out the day before my appointment that a mistake had been made and they couldn't fulfill my appointment due to staffing problems.) Second, if you DO accumulate a large pool of credits, you can only "gift" one per month and then only one per six months per person. (So, for example, you can't share accumulated credits with your spouse or best friend.) Basically, once you get behind it is difficult to "catch up." If you are good about planning your "me time" in advance, then this might work for you, but I am disappointed with the membership option. read more

They have no idea what they are doing and will steal your money. After paying for multiple credits for my girl fiends birthday, they only let her come on their schedule and also continue to charge HER card after my card was already charged $400 for the package.. I called to get this resolved spoken to multiple people including two managers. They're all lost and have no idea what they are doing. They told me they would no longer charge her card and would take it off file. After they charged her card again today (even tho we have 3 credits left) --(and even tho there is a note in their system saying not to charge her card) I called them again and the worker then lied to me saying that my girl friend told them to continue charging her card. Place is an absolute joke and the management should be fired or better trained. Absolute joke, charge over $700 for 3 massages. Don't go to this place unless you're paying for 1 massage at a time. I recently became a member because Jenny is the best at deep tissue massages. She literally is the only one that can get me feeling better and I've been to prob 50 therapists. I gave 4 stars because the microdermabrasion I received , I couldn't tell any difference. It def wasn't anything wrong with the person doing it , she was great . My services are piling up because I can never get an appointment. If you cancel your membership you lose all of your built up services, but They just keep drafting your account. So if I can ever catch up, l will cancel my membership. Unfortunately my schedule does not allow me to schedule appointments 3 to 4 weeks out. That does not work for me. I wish I could give four stars for the massage and one for the business in general. Massage was fine; the rest of the experience was a crass money grab and stressed me out as much as the massage was supposed to relax me. They make you sit in a room while you wait for your massage (which turns out to be shorter than you were told; there's a thing called "hands-on time") and watch a huge screen advertising all the ways you can pay for more extra products and services, or sign up for a membership. Then the therapist inevitably "recommends" that you need to come in every month for the rest of your life, and they won't let you pay and get out of there until they've sat you down and run through this awesome lifetime membership, adding family members, etc. STOP DOING THIS, Massage Envy! Tonight I had my first massasge in 8 years. The front desk staff was accommodating and knowledgable of their services. However the best part of the experience was my masseur David! Very engaging, knowledgeable of muscles group, patient and listens to your concerns. He applies just the right amount of pressure and focuses on areas that need more work. His technique goes between classic and a move I had never heard of, but it felt amazing. Because of his professionalism and skill, I committed to a years membership. I recently had a facial at ME and found the facility to be clean and peaceful in the back. The front on the other hand was kind of loud and a little chaotic. It felt like I suppose they can be busy but their initial consultations are done in the front with other people around you. Nothing private or peaceful about that. I then had another consultation w my specialist in the room. The facial itself was nice. I did have a little reaction but I have sensitive skin so it was expected and cleared quickly. After my peaceful relaxing facial I had to go through a sales pitch again back at the chaotic and noisy front. It felt like I was being sold a timeshare after receiving my gift. If I didn't have a gift card I wouldn't go back. I understand they sell products too but I didn't go to be pressured into buying products. In the positive side the girls were nice.
