I really liked how easy it was to make an appointment here online, and there were plenty of staff available during the time slot I was looking for. I felt welcomed when I arrived and I was quickly taken back to the welcome area. My masseuse was Dallas, he was very friendly and made sure to ask all of the right questions beforehand. LOVED the heated beds, I almost fell asleep before the massage started. Beware of their contract!!! Their practices seem very predatory and deceptive. My mother was convinced to sign a contract for a "wellness package" that she didn't understand and didn't know they would keep charging her. They had no problem charging her for over 2 years without any activity on the account without even a single call or contact attempt to remind her she has massages she can use. When we tried to fix it and asked for details about how these "credits" could be used and how it could be cancelled, they only gave us half the information, causing her to be charged more. Apparently they want you to come in sick as well because when she was sick and called to cancel, she was not only charged the full price, she was charged a "premium" on top of that. It was so handy that they kept her credit card on hand so they could automatically apply these charges too! DO NOT go by anything told to you verbally. We were told to cancel by XYZ date to avoid another month. When she tried cancelling a full week prior to that, she was told she missed the 10 day window prior so she would be charged for 1 more month. Our experience was horrible and I do not recommend ANYONE sign a contract with them. read more

I had received a gift card to there several years ago. The day I used it, I was all massage drunk and signed up for a membership. I remember that it took months after the 6 months to get it cancelled. I had to cancel as they never had appointments available outside of my work schedule. This year I was again given a gift card to there and I was gifted a massage from someone with a membership. The first massage went great, but this time they jacked up the price because I wouldn't sign up for a membership. I walked out there spending over $136 on top of the $100 gift card for my massage (not including tip). I did a search when I got home to compare prices and they far exceed the prices shown on websites for any other place in the area. If you are silly enough to buy someone a gift card for their, don't let the holiday deal trick you. Those extra amounts you get for spending $100 or $150 expire fast (I had that from my gift card, but didn't know it expired so they wouldn't honor it). Maybe some people study the fine print on the gifts they get, but I'll add that as a lesson learned as well. If I ever get a gift card to them again, I will try to get it cashed in and go somewhere that isn't trying to force people into a membership. read more

I have had good massages and some where the therapists talk the whole time about their life and the traumas they've endured as children. That was on more than one occasion. I'm there to relieve stress not be a therapist. I prefer morning appointments and have not been able to get one morning appointment in the year I've been a member. I also feel it has become more about a membership than clientele oriented. If you want to cancel your membership this is not for you. There is no way to get out of your membership. You can call the St. Cloud, MN location all you want to try and explain that you are close to homelessness and are having a tough time financially due to health and circumstances beyond your control but they still go after that monthly payment. I would not consider this company, it's become more about numbers than clients. Stick to the smaller business that focus more on the client. read more

I have been calling for months to cancel what was supposed to be a 6 month membership that I have been charged now for 15 months. Every time I call I am told I need to speak to a manager but one is not in at this time. They state they will leave a massage for manager to call back. No one ever calls back. Today again I called, I did talk to a manager but was told that she is disbelief that I have ever previously called. She said she would email me the forms to cancel. Still waiting on that... I have been a massage envy member at the St. Cloud location for about a year now. I have two therapists I really like-- Madison and Elliott. The staff are friendly. Sometimes I get annoyed that I am constantly asked at the front desk if I want to add on services/spend more money on things I don't need. But I know they are a business. The massages I've gotten here are great. The therapists I've seen are attentive and can also hit any trouble spots -- great for after hard workouts or races and I'm feeling sore! I will continue to be a member as long as the prices do not increase. Currently I'm paying about $65/month for a once per month massage. The nice thing is if you can't use it during that month, it just rolls over and you can use it whenever. read more

Unethical sales practice. After making it clear that I did not currently want any massage contract, the saleswoman let me know that it could be beneficial to sign up just in case I changed my mind, and that I could simply place the account on hold and then if I ever changed my mind I could simply "unfreeze" it to get the same benefits. That made sense, so I filled out the paperwork...just in case. Fast forward 6 months and without my consent they call me to tell me my account has been unfrozen and my "massage therapy" will now resume. Even after explaining multiple times to multiple people how I was mislead by the sales person, they refuse to do anything what-so-ever. I can't recommend this company to ANYONE. Admittedly, I wasn't sure what to expect from a chain Massage-Spa... But I am SO glad my husband gifted me a massage at Massage Envy! Their staff is incredibly pleasant and personable and instantly put me at ease. Both the lady who checked me in as well as the massage therapist were so thorough. The level of communication is fantastic and so it's very easy to immediately relax at your appointment. It's also very clean inside and decorated well! Sarah did an excellent job with the massage and the add-on foot exfoliation (definitely splurge for this and go soon because they won't have the pink-grapefruit option much longer and it smells amazing)! Also, although they offer (and run on) a membership program, I definitely didn't feel pressured to purchase it. My only gripe with the whole place is that the rooms feel a bit small and the drop ceiling does kind of distract from the experience, but not so much so that I wouldn't return for more massages. read more

I've been a going here since I moved to the area in July 2013 and all the staff is super friendly and the massage therapists are great! I've had a different person for each of my massages and all of them took the time to listen to what I wanted before each massage began and made sure throughout the massage that I was comfortable. I scheduled a surprise 1 hr couples massage for myself and my spouse in advance at Massage Envy 10/12/14.This was my present to my spouse and a total surprise I was so looking forward to all week. The morning of the massage, I got a call that someone called in sick and they had to cancel my appointment! My surprise was wrecked and now I had no gift for my spouse. They did offer a 1/2 hour free for another visit. Funny thing is that if I had cancelled without a 24 hr notice, they charge you 50% on your credit card (they take this info at the time of your apt). I would have been charge for an hour. I'm so disappointed! Very unprofessional. Needless to say, this is one place I will never visit. read more

When I signed up for a membership I was told that if I signed up my husband and 2 kids we could "share" the massages back and forth (we live a couple of hours away from St. Cloud and I get to St. Cloud much more often then my husband so my intentions were that I would use the ones he wasn't getting used ~ I made that clear to them). When the end of the contract was getting closer I was told that he could only "Gift" 1 to me every 6 months! AND he could only gift 1 a month! We wasted 6 1/2 hours because he couldn't get there to use them and they refused to let me use ANY of them or Gift any of them. I went to massage envy for my first time a few weeks ago. I was paired with a masseuse that was known as being medium to deep pressure. I thought this would be great for me considering I had a bad pain in my upper back. I had to asked her several times to lighten up on the pressure because it was just too rough, but she continued to use the same amount of pressure the entire hour. She also talked the whole time I was getting my massage done, which made it very hard to relax. After I was done with my massage the sales women kept pressuring me to purchase a package that was 50 dollars a month every month and with that you get a "free massage". After explaining to her I was still in college and didn't have the funds to do that, she still pressured me. I would not recommend Massage Envy. If you do chose to go there get a recommendation on a masseuse. read more
