This place is a 12 pack of ass... 1 out of the 8 masseuse are good, they call to cancel and reschedule all the time and we bought a 12 month membership Dec2021-Dec2022... They charged us through March!? If you can't make an appointment and don't give them 24hr notice they charge you anyways. And to transfer massage credits to another current member, it's $10 an hour for a transfer. They do whatever they can to pull more money from you. read more

Bad experience with Berta today. I paid $130 for a 1 hour full body massage. She started late, came to for me at 11:05, barked orders for me to undress, came back at 1110am and asked what pressure to use and where to focus on and I told her I'd tell her if the pressure was too much.I told her to focus on neck and shoulders. She needed multiple reminders to increase pressure from "medium" to between medium and deep tissue. At one point I told her I was going to get up and leave if she was unable to give me the massage I paid for, then she paid more attention to my request for more pressure. She stopped at 1155am. No attention at all to feet, scalp,face which in my 50 years of getting massages is fairly routine. Feet have never been skipped before on a massage. I usually tip well but today I couldn't find a reason to tip for service. I won't be seeing Berta again when I go back. Bad attitude, bad service. read more

I will never return to massage envy. First, they advertise a $70 hour massage, but of course, fine print is the key here- $120 is what you really pay for "non member" price. Secondly, I filled out forms and told them I only wanted deep tissue- I received "deep tissue" pressure of which could only be compared to my two month old daughter walking on back. Significant amount of time was spent on my face, legs, and feet. Not the back, neck, and shoulders I had requested and filled out in their ultra fancy iPad program. Finally, Once you're done, you have to discuss the membership rates and get slammed with your bill PLUS signs, posters, and questions on tip amount. All of which are awkwardly asked to you while people are in the waiting room hearing you answer how much tip you would like to leave. Go somewhere else, believe me. read more

Very sad..Today is Valentine's..and my husbands birthday..I arrived for a scheduled 6:30pm couples massage Appt that was scheduled over a month ago and confirmed via phone yesterday by the manager Robert. To my complete SHOCK, the appointment was NOT in the system and completely cancelled.. Not by me ...but by a front desk mix up Robert incated was done by Tiffany! I was appalled at such lack of regard ..and after all..birthday and Valentine's ONLY comes once a year.. Totally ruined what was scheduled WAY in advance to be a relaxing evening with my husband ended in me being sad, frustrated, and angry ...MEMBERSHIP will BE CANCELLED..tomorrow and although I dont resort to social media for things such as this..I hope the francise owner..reads this and is aware of such mismanagement of a formerly loyal member..You no longer have my business!! read more

I went in the day before Christmas to buy a last minute stocking stuffer and had a delightful little experience. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She thoroughly explained the various packages they offered for purchase and led me to the best package deal. Couldn't have asked for a better experience with the front desk. read more

My husband and I bought a friends unused massages since she has a membership and wouldn't be able to use them that month. No issues with the transfer. Outstanding massages for us both, but they sure ruin it afterwards... They go over the top to make you sign up and practically block you from leaving until you agree, or until you get angry like us and tell them about their horrible front desk services. They had 3 people trying to scam us into the packages. We would have been more apt to buy a package had they used less pressure... They sure messed up because my husband and I are all about a good massage regularly. Less is more. Don't ruin a great massage with an "in your face" sales pitch. We won't go back. read more

Just had a terrible experience with the receptionist after I had a wonderful massage. The receptionist, calling herself Fela, did not honor my monthly membership payment because it would not be deducted till the next day, so she charged my card an extra amt for the massage. I was to pay only for the extra stretch session but she charged the massage as well without my permission. So I proceed to ask for a refund since the massage will be automatically deducted the next day but the she says she can't give refunds and cannot reach the manager. For a business that is supposed to provide you with a stress free environment you get the total opposite! Try to cancel and you will jump through so many hoops it's ridiculous!! Customer svc girls up front are a joke. I went in for a massage to relieve stress and right after the girl up front says I need to leave my card info and that the deal the mgr had arranged w me is not on the notes. Giving you stress instead of helping with it like they're supposed to. Because they can't pick up the phone to call ahead before you go in for a massage. Worst experience at this place. I bought my wife a gift certificate for an hour massage the massage was great but they harrassed her the whole time because she did not want to enter a long term contract. Was working in the area and randomly decided to get a massage. I've been in near constant pain in my back for months now. Scheduled an appointment with Pete for a deep tissue massage. He was amazing, one of the best massages I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable, and professional. The pain in my back has greatly diminished. Very poor customer service, very poor communication skills. Caused two long time members from out of state to cancel our memberships. However, even after my wife cancelled hers, they have still continued to charge her account. We cancelled in August, and still got charged for November and December! Manager won't return calls, and the idiot receptionist will only hang up if we call. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

When I began my membership, right away I had trouble with my charges, I needed one of my $49 charges reversed and it actually took me continuing to call and my charge was finally reversed after about 2 1/2 months. I have extremely chronic neck pain and it wasn't till my 9 month of my membership that i finally found a therapist that knew how to ease some of my discomfort. Needless to say I did cancel my membership after my year was over, and now again I am pending 2 charges that have still yet to be credited back to my account. I have been contacting the manager at Mcallen office several times and she assured me that charges would be reversed, Well I am now told that there was a computer glitch and that is why it's taking so long. I have been reversed one charge and yet again charged again, so I am back to square one, pending 2 charges of $49 that need to be credited to my account. UGHHHHH!! I really don't have time for this, and I wonder how many people this has happened to and have they realized of Massage Envy's mistake. Just be careful and keep on top of your accounts so that this does not happen to you. For all the grief this place has caused me, I would NOT do it again. read more

I have been a member of this particular massage envy since the day they opened doors in McAllen TX. I am very upset that i was called Friday and due to a miscommunication was told my massage was on Sunday at 10:00 AM. I found out there was a death in the family (grandmother) at 10:30 PM. Friday night. I called and got voicemail so thought being my appointment. was for Sun. i would call on Sat and cancel and explain why i had to do so. When i called now to tell them they told me that because my massage was actually for Sat. not Sun. i would be charged for the hour and the girl actually even questioned me on whether or not there was even a death in my family! that is very rude and hurtful when I have been a faithful member going in a couple times every month for the past few years. I have never once not called in advance to cancel and now am being accused of making up a death!!! Horrible service at the front counter. I did ask for the manager El vi to call me back and hopefully she will correct this error done to me. I will update with final result. I find it terrible that i would be falsely accused of making up a death and that with being a member for years and never having not canceled prior they would offend me with such a outrageous remark. Death in ones family is not a joke and would not be used for a measly $39 price tag... Get Real, i can only hope this situation will be resolved and i will not have to further my attempt to right this service wrong. read more
