Worst experience ever! If you're looking to unwind and relax, do NOT come here. Not only did they ruin my experience, but they also ruined my entire day. I booked an 11 AM massage and a 12 PM microderm facial. The moment I laid down for my massage, I noticed the headrest was dirty--it looked like someone with a full face of makeup had been there before me. I told the masseuse, and she replaced it, but the fact that it was dirty in the first place was unacceptable, especially since my bare face was supposed to go there. On top of that, my massage ended 10 minutes early. I figured that since it ended early, my facial would start on time at 12 PM--wrong. I waited until 12:15 before finally losing patience. I got dressed, went to ask what was going on, and only then did they tell me: 1. The esthetician was still with her last client, cutting into my time. 2. The microderm machine was broken, and I could only get a regular facial or a chemical peel. So why did no one tell me this at check-in? Why didn't they tell me after my massage instead of letting me sit there for 30 minutes with no communication? I asked what they were going to do to make up for the inconvenience, and Rochelle (assistant manager & esthetician) told me she could remove the facial from my bill. Well... duh? You had to remove it anyway because I never got the service. When I pointed that out, she then offered an upgrade on my next visit. Ma'am, there will be no next visit. What can you do for me today? At that point, I was over it. On top of everything else, she kept blaming everyone else--even pulled me aside to blame the receptionist, when they had already admitted they only found out about the machine issue minutes before. Fine. Whatever. Let me just pay and leave, right? Wrong. Now the tap-to-pay machine was down, and that was my only form of payment. I told them people should be warned about things like this beforehand. Rochelle said the receptionist was supposed to put a card on file when I booked, but she didn't--so how exactly was I supposed to pay? Rochelle told me I could call in my card info later when I got access to it, which was fine with me. Even though I hated my experience, I assured them I'd still call and pay. But not even 20 minutes after I left, they started blowing up my phone for payment. Essentially harassing me. Y'all didn't even give me time to leave Eastchase, let alone get home. In less than an hour, I got multiple calls. And then, the part that really got me... They threatened to call the police on me. Yes, the police. All this, not even an hour after I left. So not only did they ruin my experience, but they went out of their way to ruin the rest of my day too. I'm still wondering was was expected of me. Was I suppose to neglect everything else I had to do? Was I supposed to teleport home? Completely unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place to my dog read more

Finally made my way over today as I had heard Yvette at this location was top notch massuez & I left impressed relaxed. Brandy, the manager there, was extremely helpful on the phone. I'd recommend arriving if you're new there about 5-8 minutes before to ensure you can fill out the quick paperwork. Don't be fooled by the older reviews before Brandy took over. From what I understand she has given this location a breathe of fresh air the last year. Went with the Deep tissue massage for 1 hour. Yvette found knots I didn't even know were there with 10 years of experience & a people first energy. read more

I'm no stranger to this Massage Envy and I have visited on and off for years. However, today...My Birthday of ALL days, I had the absolute WORST experience ever. I had a 9am appt. and the store did NOT open until 9:40 am. YES, you heard that right, 9:40 am. However, my scheduled therapist (Kierra) was there and early (8:30 am), but, she didn't have a key to the building. So we waited outside for a while! The front desk male agent finally arrived. I went inside and was taken to the waiting area only to find out from Kierra that she had an appt for 10am. It is 9:50 am. Now, I can't get my massage. She suggested I go to the front desk and have him call the manager because obviously something NEEDED to be done on my behalf. So, I go to the front desk. He apologizes and lets me know that it was not his fault that he arrived at 9:40am because he was not the original person scheduled to open and it was a last minute call to him. He said it was actually the manager Brandy that was suppose to open. He then calls her and makes her aware that I've been waiting since 9am, that I'm unable to get my massage because of the schedule conflict, and that I wanted to speak with her. Instead of speaking to me, she cowardly tells him the only thing she can do is not charge for today (how could you anyway when I didn't even get serviced), get me rebooked (I'd still have to pay) and they would throw in a free ($15) enhancement. I was floored. I've wasted all this time just to NOT get a massage and that's the best you can do!?? I told him that was absolutely unacceptable and that he needed to call her back. He does. He expressed my displeasure with that "offer" and again let Brandy know that I wanted to speak to her. This time, she does speak with me. She doubled down on her offering, stating that it was policy for the franchise owner to not offer any comps, even if THEY ARE IN THE WRONG. Wow!!!! I informed her that since it was her that was originally scheduled to open, that she as a manager should have at least offered to pay for the rebooked massage out of pocket to show professionalism and potentially keep business. She stops me and tells me she was not the one opening today and that it was suppose to be the front desk male. I then call them out saying how strange it was that they are both saying that other person was suppose to open. She basically stated that calling corporate wouldn't do much since it was an independent franchise. She said she would call regional to "see" if more could be done on my behalf, but she doubted it because it's an absolute policy that there are no comps even if they are at fault. Disclaimer: Brandy was not belligerent or overtly disrespectful in anyway. However her care and concern left something more to be desired as a manager. It was almost as if her tone was was an "oh well, take it or leave it attitude". Even with her mediocre apology. Verbatim- "Sorry we had a late opening". 9:15 am would have been a late opening, but this was beyond that...9:40 am. Then, I stated to her that she didn't even have another massage therapist available that I could go to today to still get a birthday massage and she said, "They're all off today". I am thoroughly appalled at the practices here. The unprofessionalism. The lack of care and concern to make things right when the BUSINESS IS WRONG. That's Business 101. In essence I wouldn't recommend this place just based on the mere fact that Brandy basically implied that owner doesn't even care to make anything right. I usually prefer the renaissance spa for my massages, but I chose this place because it's closer to other things I had scheduled. BIG MISTAKE! I intend to post everywhere and still call corporate. DO NOT sign up for a membership with Massage Envy Eastchase. The first contract you sign will be unbreakable for an entire year. During that year, you will experience cancellations for your appointments and not being able to schedule services that you've paid for because this location is chronically understaffed. You will get annoyed with this and want to stop the membership, but won't be able to that first year. When you're finally able to end the membership, make sure you take a photo of the cancellation form you are signing because if you don't, they will keep charging you. They try not to give you a copy of the cancellation form. I cancelled this membership in January 2023. I am still being charged for it in March 2024. I have reached out to the newest manager (Brandy) and still got charged for March after I asked her to cancel the membership immediately back in February. One email from her on 3/1/24 saying that she would take care of things on 3/4/24 still has not yielded any results. I have reached out to Massage Envy corporate, no response. I have reached out to the franchise owner, no response. I'm going to have to pay my bank $30 to put a stop payment, file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office for my refund (they owe me $845.00), and have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are stealing my money when I revoked their access a year ago. read more

My wife has had five different appointments with this location over the past year. Four for a massage and for a facial. She was canceled on for three of the massages and the facial. Not a reliable place to plan on going. Her one massage was good however was not able to get back in due to various reasons from the location. Someone probably needs to figure out how to get this place staffed properly with reliable staff. I'm personally surprised that this location is still open. I had a massage from this location months ago and unfortunately for me I ended up with a male and the massage was not enjoyable, it felt awkward and was not done systematically. I've had at a minimum a lot of massages over the years (from all various places around the world and United States specifically) and this was one of the least relaxing if not the least relaxing massage. Went for 60 min total body stretch. I have this done only one other time by someone else at a real massage business, but I could tell that this facility, maybe even the whole company, doesn't hire/train their employees correctly. All of the stretches were very basic and if one stretch wasn't doing anything for the target area, there was no effort made to find an alternative. There was also no communication by the employee as to weather a stretch was too much or too little. I could tell the employee was just taught basic stretches and told to hold them for a certain amount of time. They also don't work your back, hands or feet. I was asked to lay on some spiked balls and roll my feet over them which were pointless. The appointment was also 50 minutes although I paid for 60. I didn't mind though, I just wanted to get out of there. Waste of time. read more

Eh... the experience was awkward. I ended up with a male massage therapist. I figured ok well he should have perhaps some more strength to him. Not really. There was no set rhyme or reason with the massage. He kind of just worked all over the place and used some odd techniques like light pinching, especially around my bottom and legs, which was weird. He did not really massage anything, it was more like a light touch throughout the ordeal; no real muscle interaction even though I explained beforehand that I worked out and had some specific areas that needed attention. He was nice and courteous, just seemed a bit inexperienced. I left not feeling different, just with less money and kind of oily. I am not going back. It was $65 for what I'll call "the tired boyfriend massage" since that is the level of experience I received. Sorry, but it's an honest review. I have a membership that I wanted to transfer to my daughter. they charged me $10 for each transfer in addition to the $60 a month I pay for the membership. I called and was told to cancel my next year membership that I would have to come in person. I checked the times that they are open and it said Saturday 9am to 8. well I am here and it is 9:43 a.m. The door is locked. However, when I call, I get the message they are with clients and someone will call. i am very annoyed and hate the day I ever signed that contract with them. the worst customer service ever. my contract ends July 2023. never again read more

If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. This was the worst phone call I've had. Never even made it inside. That's how bad it was. I called and asked the manager about transfers. She tried to say she couldn't find me in the system until the other employee corrected her. Apparently transfers are too difficult for her. Mind you, I've been a member for over five years paying, tipping, queening. I've been to several other facilities in other states and it's always been a great experience, over the phone and in person. To say she works in a field that prioritizes relaxation, health and wellness, this clearly isn't for her and instead of taking it out on customers, just leave it to those who have emotional intelligence. She's lucky I have too much to lose, because I should pull up and see if she has the same energy in person. Mama talking big shit over the phone but I'm sure if I pull up it'll be very different. She should get a massage or facial herself and calm down before she gets what she's asking for. Business must not be doing too well because she passed up money and additional memberships. Poor thing didn't learn this in school. In order for you to offer these services, you should be someone who understands the type of attitude needed, the customer service needed, the business sense needed. I have over 20 available hours and will continue paying my monthly membership, but won't frequent this location. She actually said I had a problem paying the transfer fee. Huh, how so? Let's use our critical thinking skills here. The audacity. Ma'am, look at my account, I've been paying my membership faithfully for the last three years without one visit, the fees aren't the problem, your nasty attitude is. She went from being impudent to outright assholish and ended up hanging up the phone. Real mature, I'll be taking these funds somewhere else, no problem. She was ready for an argument as soon as she got on the phone, I heard it in her tone. When I stated, "you sound like you've had a rough day, can I speak with someone else" she repeats it like a petulant child as if I didn't call her and ask for assistance. For those of you who get treatments, God bless you. Because I wouldn't let this woman massage homemade play dough, let alone my face. Probably aging like a banana, built like a Honda Civic, and relationships in shambles. She was big mad at the transfer question. I usually have positive experiences here, but my facial yesterday did not go well. I told the Anesthetician that my cheek areas are sensitive and it was stinging and burning. She fanned me until the feeling wasn't as bad, but still didn't wipe the solutions off my face. Now i have two noticeable burn marks on my face. I'm very upset. She said it might be because they are using a different brand of products now. I've gotten facials here before, but I don't think I'll get a peel here again. I'm going to call them. read more

Let's start with the good, then with the not as good. I love getting massages, get them as often as I can. Would get them everyday if I was wealthy enough. And today's massage was a gift, but I'd wanted to try Massage Envy for a long time, so I went in excited. 90 minute massages are great. I gave it a 3 stars because where my therapist, Kimberly, chose to work on, she did a good job. I liked how she did my neck especially. Other things were average, but a bad free massage is better than no massage, right? Now the reason they lost 2 stars. First when I get a 90 minute massage, I want a 90 minute massage. They tell you up front, 5 minutes to undress then 80 minutes of massage followed with 5 minutes to redress. My entire time only lasted 82 minutes (I know because I timed it) meaning she cut my massage down to 72 minutes. Also they ask you where you want worked on and where you don't. Kimberly chose to not follow that. She spent 30 seconds on each glute and a minute on each hamstring (both focus areas) and then spent 10 minutes on my feet (an area I said to avoid). I guess if they're going to do whatever they want, I'd just prefer they didn't ask me. Finally, today's massage was booked 5 weeks ago, my birthday, because that's the current wait time I would never be a member here. BUT AT LEAST I got to interact with their manager who was very nice and didn't charge me the extra for a 90 minute (that they didn't tell me would happen when I booked FIVE WEEKS AGO ‍). read more

I have been a member at this location for a year now, due to the contract I signed, and I've received every service offered so I've been able to develop a well rounded opinion of this facility. I have one thing to get off of my chest first. I had a facial scheduled for today but last night I had a death in my family. This morning I called Massage Envy and spoke with a representative named Tori. I explained that I needed to reschedule my appointment due to a death in my family. Her response was that I would be charged 50% for the same day "cancellation". I explained that I was not cancelling, simply rescheduling for another day AND that I had never been charged for rescheduling a same day appointment in the year that I have been a member. Her response was, "Well we typically let the first time slide." Once again, I explained I had done this multiple times and it had never been a problem. She continued to state that, "Typically, we charge 50% for same day cancellations." I explained that having a death in my family was beyond my control and that I would not pay for and 50% charge. Then, she "allowed" me to reschedule without the extra charge but with a nasty attitude during the entire conversation. This was the most disgusting interaction I've ever had with ANY business. I always expect to be treated with respect, but when a customer reveals they have had a death in the family, at the very least please just express some small amount of sympathy. Now, on to the review of services. I take very good care of my skin at home. My dermatologist compliments me on my skin and so do friendly people on the street. I have been receiving facials at this location for a while to reduce and eliminate acne and my results have never been consistent. It's very clear that each esthetician has a different background and may or may not decide to apply the rules and techniques of their Murad facial training during the session, based on their preferences. I received a bad facial in November (it's now January) and the esthetician performed so many deep extractions that I am still recovering from scarring and hyper pigmentation. As a result, I've had to make an extra visit to the dermatologist, which defeats the purpose of the facial in the first place. The next time I went in for a facial, the esthetician was new and she only did the extractions on my nose, which are sebaceous filaments that everyone has! The rest of the pimples that were on my face, she left alone and I had to extract them myself when I got home. This is not what I paid $$ for! The rooms are cold but I have mentioned that in surveys so much that a year later, they have made a note in my file to have a space heater in my room. I haven't received a massage in a long time due to the inconsistency in techniques. So far, there is one person that gave AMAZING massages and his name is Marc! I highly recommend him. All of the Massage Envy's that I've been to have very similar decor. The front is bright and clinical, but as soon as you are signed in they take you to a waiting room which is very nice and relaxing (at Eastchase). I got lucky when I first started going here and was given Jennifer for my therapist. She is one of the best that I've ever had. It took me several months at the last Massage Envy I went to in order to find a therapist that I liked, so I feel very fortunate to have Jennifer for my therapist and I highly recommend her. Additionally, this particular store isn't so pushy on selling you products like the last location that I frequented and I appreciate that. The biggest thing I don't like about Massage Envy is that their hour massage is really only 50 minutes. If you read their policy you will see that each appointment has 10 minutes build in for you and the therapist to get ready and clean up. As far as the tipping goes, the receptionist does ask (in a normal voice) if you would like to leave a tip. I always hand my tip directly to the therapist prior to going out front and that is what I tell them when they ask about the tip. My first two appointments went well but slowly therapist quit, my appointments began to be canceled, or rescheduled. I would schedule an appointment just for it to be canceled days before. This location lacks consistency, qualified staff, and overall great customer service. The latest front desk staff could use training in professionalism and customer service. I love Massage Envy. When I first became a member, things were fine massage-wise, but scheduling was a nightmare. I was going to end my membership, but they released an app that allows you to see when your preferred therapist is going to be working and schedule it through the app. Since that time, I have renewed my membership and love going to see Amanda and Madeline on a regular basis. The atmosphere is so calming and relaxing. The rooms are always clean and prepped for my massages. This is one of the best investments I've made in my self care resolution, so far. read more

I went online and made a reservation in advance for a massage-selected my time, the person who would be doing it, and put in my credit card information. The online portal confirmed that I had made the reservation but said my card wouldn't be charged until after services were rendered. The next day I drove 25 minutes to get there, and when I arrived at my appointment time, the employee had no record of my appointment. They said that this happens often when someone books online and a reservation is manually made in the storefront at the same time. They know about this issue, and they even shared how their manager is frustrated by this issue, but corporate has set up the online reservation system so they have to leave it. The employees seemed somewhat apologetic, but didn't offer me any actual apologies or explanation besides a halfhearted attempt to book me for a massage the following day during a time I had to work. I understand that mistakes happen, but if this is something that happens on a regular basis-which I believe does because there was another couple in the location at the same time who was going through a similar issue-it should be addressed or at the very least train your team on how to sympathetically respond to those who are affected by the issue. It's 2019, and there's no excuse for a company this size not to have a functional online scheduling system. read more

So when he walks in they grill him and say he doesn't get the intro price at $55 because they claim he's been there before when he never has. On top of all this they didn't even give him the full hour they made him pay $95 for. I will never give my money again to this business. read more

Love this place. I have gotten both massages and facials from here and they have been wonderful. If i ever needed more pressure or less I could just tell my therapist and they would adjust. They have a ton of therapists too who really are on top of their game. The membership is a pretty great deal too considering I carry my stress in my shoulders and upper back and get sore calves from running so going in monthly really keeps me from falling apart. read more

The face support on the table is made for a large man not an average size person. I laid down and my face pratically fell straight through the middle and pushed my head back so far it almost touched the base of my neck. I was so uncomfortable I just kept scooting down more and more on the table. My massage therapist had to have noticed because she couldn't really get to my neck. I finally complained and she moved it all the way up so that the crown of my head was through the hole and my chin was at the table. It didn't become a decent massage until half way through and I was on my back. What a frustrating experience. The worst part.... the whole reason I was there was because my neck was hurting. Went in for a deep tissue massage with foot scrub. For starters my massage therapist was not a deep tissue masseuse. I would hate to see the limp rub her regular massages are. She kept huffing and sighing and not only seeming to hate her job openly, but also timed a lot of these sounds to make me feel she thought I was fat. I was unable to relax with all this negativity. She forgot the foot scrub all together and left the room before I could say much. I tried to say something to the front end staff and they were only handing out excuses "well we are busy... I bet she is tired.." Great so poor services and poor customer service. Then they have a suggestion sign proclaiming that you should give about a 20% tip and loudly ask you what you want to tip and read it back to you. It was embarrassing and unprofessional. Massages are so so, Facials are good. However, if you can't use all your appointments for yourself, please note, you can only gift them to the same person 1 time every 6 months. When I signed my contract I was told I could gift them... period. No information was given on how many times. Knowing I am a VERY busy person I decided to go ahead and sign the contract comfortable in the fact that I have lots of kids that I could gift them to if I could not make it. I have 3 banked appointments I cannot use and have run out of kids to give them to because of the 6 month rule. Trust in the fact I NOT RENEW and will definitely advise against any of my 7 adult children to sign a contract with Massage Envy!!!! read more

I have been to three other massage places in Montgomery, and this one is by far the best. I have regular standing appointments every 2 weeks with my favorite therapist. I'll usually get deep muscle therapy because it's been so great for my back. They ask you how much money you'd like to tip, but they do that at every massage place I've ever been to. I actually really appreciate it because if they didn't ask, I'd probably forget and it's nice being able to tell them and they just put it all on the card. I don't carry around cash, so I always put everything on the card they have on file. Check out is fairly quick because of this, too. I've received a few sugar foot scrubs, and they do miracles on my scaly feet. Foot rubs in general are just nice to get, but add in a scrub and my feet come out beautiful. Every time I go in for a massage, I also get a facial. They go well together, and I leave refreshed and relaxed. I've bought a couple of their facial products since I've been back. I like their face lotion the best. It's not greasy like most face lotions and I've noticed a lot of improvement with my red face (I also suffer from dryness). The facialist recommended it to me, and it's done wonders to my skin. I'm currently a member and I'm going to stay a member. It's nice being able to go in and pay next to nothing for additional massages and benefits. I was so used to paying close to $400 a month at my old massage place for the same benefits I get at massage envy for less than half of that. Definitely a steal. I highly recommend read more

I received a Mother's Day gift certificate from Massage Envy and finally got around to using it last week when I noticed it had an expiration date, and I so regret not taking advantage of this service earlier and often. I was skeptical when I first got there because I read poor reviews of their front desk staff, but I was pleasantly surprised. I forget her name, but the young lady who checked me in was very helpful and even came out and sat next to me to double check some of the information I had filled out in my paperwork. When I asked, she told me she had only been there a few weeks. She was professional, attentive, and very customer focused. I enjoyed an hour-long facial with Helen and a 1 1/2-hour full-body massage with Abby. I felt like a new person when I left. Both therapists were highly skilled and I very much enjoyed conversations with both of them. My only regret is that as much as I enjoyed talking with both of them, it made the time just fly by way too fast. Maybe next time I will just be quiet and enjoy the massage! read more
