Massage wise, my massage with John deserves 5+ stars. He was timely, I got my full 50 minutes, he listened to my requests for pressure and my desire for him to focus on my neck. He was very professional and seemed very experienced. Environment wise, I would rate the experience 4 stars. There were three girls at the front and only one spoke to me. She did walk me to the back and tell me where the restrooms were but she was overall pretty short. I don't think any of the girls even offered a smile. When I arrived there was a guest in the front with a screaming child. I don't know the policy but there should be no children allowed. The constant screaming made for a less than relaxing environment. Also, consider putting mirrors in the treatment rooms! Guests would like to check their hair and makeup before going outside. I'll be back if I ever have pain again to see John. For the price, I can overlook the less than spa like environment! read more

When I declined to do so, my introduction rate was no longer available and my price more than doubled. Got a monthly massage gift from my hubby for Christmas. I was skeptical because I don't usually go to "chain/franchise" type of places and I've heard mixed reviews from different people. I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were friendly, the massage therapist I got, Dan, is amazing. He is knowledgeable, thorough and very professional. To me, the location is very inviting and calm. Had a terrible experience at the front desk at Colerain avenue. I had scheduled a massage online at 5:30, specifically with a female therapist and when I get there they tell me only males are available. Being a woman I have had issues with male masseuses before so I always specifically ask for females. But they tell me if I cancel the appointment I will still be charged 50%. I was trying to work out a solution & was willing to pay full price for the next appointment if it could be resheduled with a female. But the front desk employees - 2 ladies in particular kept insisting that I will have to still pay 50% of the charges for my scheduled 90 min massage that I was not getting anyways. No way I was getting one from a male masseuse so I ended up paying for something that was not even my mistake. Really terrible experience, wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

This was my second visit to massage envy at the colerain location. I have not been to any of the others. I called last minute and they happened to have a opening available 30 min after I called. Yay for my timing. The building and atmosphere here is very nice warm. The massage tables are great and heated. I had a massage today by Dan M. It felt like he really knew his stuff. I get a lot of pain and tension in my neck shoulder and scapula area. He had a lot of really good suggestions and was very professional. I wish I was able to afford the monthly massage plan because I would so love it. Cool thing was the last massage I had there was 6 mos ago so they gave me the introductory rate again. Nice surprise. I have never had the type of Swedish massage that I received. I indicated I was there for stress relief and relaxation. Instead I was given a rub down as if I had just played a football game or was in a boxing match. I told Dan at least once to use less pressure, but after initially cutting back the pressure it ramped back up. I am used to slow, smooths strokes of massage, not fast rubbing of the muscles and forceful jolting pressure. I left actually hurting from my massage and have very sore shoulders and even a couple of bruises to show how hard he worked me over. This was not my first massage -- I have been getting massages for most of my adult life at least twice a year. This was the worst experience I have ever had. Nothing like a massage at someplace like Mitchells. I will not be going back, ever. I'm going to need a massage at Mitchells to undo the damage that was done. read more

DO NOT GO TO MASSAGE ENVY - COLERAIN. Massage Envy - Colerain is awful and they treat their long time customers terribly. I was a member for several years. My therapist left because she was only making $16 a massage, They charge $70 for members and $90+ for non-members, you do the math. I put my cancellation in over 2 weeks prior to my next scheduled payment and their lazy management team failed to process it. When i called to get a refund they would not do it. Then you only have 60 days to get the massage and with kids and coaching them in sports plus working full time i wasn't able to get a massage until a week after my 60 days was up they would not make an exception. So their mistake, my money, and no service. PS: My former massage therapist told me they have insect problem (I never saw an insect personally). The Massage therapists and Front desk staff always treated me great but i will definitely never go back to Massage envy again. read more

I hate leaving awful reviews but I needed to in this case. This past weekend I had a massage with one of the newer male massage therapists (he told me) and it was quite the experience. I'm not a regular massage goer but I've had my fair share. I went in hoping for a full body and to make it short and sweet-ended up with one side of my back done. He talked to me half of the time (some about things that were personal and unnecessary) which in no way shape or form is relaxing. He was very very nice, just seemed a bit nervous as well. I'm not sure what more to say except it just wasn't good. I came out wishing I never went in and today my .one side. is sore. I should have said something, but I'm not one to be mean. I try to be understanding and hope things change but this time was not one of those times. However, on a brighter note the two ladies at the front desk for check in were very sweet, informative, and welcoming. If I were to leave a rating for check-in only, it would definitely be 5 stars. read more

My massage was perfect. LaShina used the perfect amount of pressure and checked with me from time to time to make sure it was so. After my massage I misplaced my wedding ring. I was back tracking all my steps. Not only did the team and massage therapist help me by looking and trying to think of any possible place it might be, but they let me look at well. I belong to the Bridgewater Falls Massage Envy. Today, while the computer systems were down I made a last minute Appointment (accidentally calling the wrong location using Apple Maps)and immediately started driving to my location. As soon as I arrived, I learned that I was in the wrong location. They said they are charging me for the entire massage..... even though The mistake was made because their systems are down. Expect these people to take your money whenever possible. No benefit of the doubt of partial charge here. I would find a better location. read more

Disappointed. I bought the month plan. Big mistake. I had to cancel my appointment unexpectedly due to car issues. Didn't matter to them. Still charged me $30 "cancellation fee." Front desk staff have no authority to make the customer experience better. Lots of up selling which makes the whole experience exhausting. Mitchell's salon and day spa is soooo oo much more relaxing, with better customer service without the constant sales pitch. It's sad. Because massage envy therapists are really nice and good. I would like to say this has been the worst massage place ever ! I previously was recieved service from Hand and Stone they were exceptional! Ten days ago I asked for my payment method to be deleted and replaced it with a new payment method. On 8-13-19 I was placed in overdraft because massage envy took the money out of the old account. I called and spoke with Beth who was rude and unhelpful. So I then asked to cancel my membership she stated I would have to do so in person and she was sorry that they did not change my payment methods .I went in to the store in 6- 13 - 19 canceled my membership and received a copy On 8-14-19 I was charged another 69.99 out of the same account again I called spoke with Beth who stated to me " I refunded the money yesterday and took it out your other account " I then stated " both times the payment has been taken out of the same account now I'm in overdraft again" she then told me she does not believe that to be true " in other words she called me a liar .She also stated she would cancel my membership on today i asked for a email confirmation in which as of now i have not gotten. I stated this has to be against the law or something she told me I signed a contract so I can be treated this way even though I changed payment methods in a timely manner her exact words when I said I would be speaking with a lawyer about 140 dollars coming out of my account was "oh well you signed a contract " read more

I had a massage this past Friday and it was fantastic! Everyone was very nice when I came in. My massage therapist, Kiera, was wonderful. I had not had a massage in a long time and my shoulders and back were in rough shape. She took extra time on those areas and gave me advice on stress relief. So I went in for my appointment and filled out the forms starting exactly what areas to have worked on and what areas of my body I prefer not touched that day. I stated to the therapist that I like firm to deep tissue massage pressure and once again reiterated the areas that I needed worked on (shoulders, neck and back only). I had been having a lot of pain in these areas and am use to full body but that day, I wanted the whole hour dedicated to my problem areas only. She seemed to understand. I noticed that she was spending way more time on my arms and hands (areas I didnt request massaged) before finally getting to my back. I assumed she was " warming up"??? She proceeded with the massage but never focused on the muscles I specifically stated were hurting. She just rubbed up and down on the entire area without ever kneading out the knots. Before I knew it, the massage was over and I didnt feel any different. I made my comment about how I did not receive what I had requested then. She stepped out of the room and then I made 5he same comment as I was paying. The therapist was nice and she did provide a service so I tipped her as I felt I should. I did however email the manager once I got home. To my surprise, the response left me speechless. I was offered to come back in for another massage at the intro rate of $55 with an aroma therapy application added. My response to that reply has yet to be addressed. Why would I ever return and be asked to PAY for a second massage when I didnt get what I requested in the first place? Why do we fill out the forms of they are not followed? Very dissatisfied customer, mainly with the membership program they try to get you to buy into. I purchased the monthly massage membership a year ago and I've had a heck of a time using it!! I had accumulated 6 massages that were automatically charged to my account monthly. I called to schedule a massage; they told me that until my account was current my privileges had been suspended (even though 6 massages had already been paid for by charging my card monthly.) My bank card had been switched to one that had a chip in it. The fact of the matter is how you can not allow me to use something that has already been paid for. I went in to cancel my membership at the end of my year and pay any remaining fees so that I could begin using the massages I had already paid for and the remaining 4 massages. They tried to say, I need to make another payment before I could use the membership (when I had already called, and the customer services rep told me all I had to do was fill out a cancellation form since I had reached my year). After all that, they then tell me that I have a certain amount of time in which I must use my 8 massages (it was like 2 months) or I would lose them (once again something, they've already received payment for). The manager to at least extend it a couple of weeks!! I had emergency happen the day I scheduled a massage (so of course that was the last thing on my mind, I totally forgot). I went to schedule my next massage and they told me, that I'm minus one due to the no call, no show. I asked to speak to a manager but of course they told me there was no manager on duty at the time. I asked for their corporate number, they said they didn't know the number but I could probably get it online. Very poor!! All I want to do is use what I've already paid for. I'm actually surprised that I'm the first person to rate on my concern. I purchased the membership which is 59.99 + tax/month for one one-hour massage. The past 2 massages lasted less than 45 min. For example, today I arrived at 3:52 for a 4 o'clock massage. It was slightly after 4 when they took me back. After changing it was approx 4:08 when the therapist came back in to begin. He then stated that he would rap up at 4:50!? When he did finish it was 4:48. So, paying for a one hour massage is actually paying for a 40+/- min massage. I was too nervous to say something because I didn't want to effect the service I did receive. Regardless you do not get what you pay for. read more

I really wanted to like Massage Envy and sign up for the monthly plan so I specifically requested an appointment with their "most requested" massage therapist for deep tissue work. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain/tension and was hoping to find a massage therapist I could go to a couple of times of month. When I arrived for my first appointment, the woman at the desk, Michelle, introduced herself as the person who spoke with me on the phone and scheduled my appointment for a deep tissue massage with Kirsten. She told me that Kirsten had gone home sick, but Reggie could give me a massage; however, Reggie could not give a deep tissue massage. I declined this "medium touch" massage with Reggie and inquired as to why they did not call me to let me know Kirsten was not available for my appointment. I was told that they did not call me because I had not specifically requested Kirsten. So I asked Michelle, "Didn't I specifically request a deep tissue massage?" and Michelle said, "Yes, you did." So I clarified, "but Reggie can't do deep tissue massage?" and Michelle said, "No." So I inquired again as to why they didn't call me to offer this "medium touch" option over the phone. Another woman at the desk said that Kirsten just left 30 minutes ago. I told her that I only live 10 minutes away so there was plenty of time to call me before I left the house instead of wasting my time in coming for a service that I was not interested in. They offered to set up another appointment for me with Kirsten, but I left and told them I would go elsewhere. I will not be back. They obviously have a very poor business model if they would rather get me in the door in the hopes of a quick sale versus lasting customer satisfaction. It is completely understandable that Kirsten was sick and had to go home early. Quite frankly, I would not have wanted a massage from someone who is sick. What I don't understand is why they could not extend me the courtesy of calling me to reschedule, especially since they did not have a suitable replacement who could offer the service that was requested. If they had called to let me know Kirsten was sick, I would have been disappointed, but would have rescheduled and gone back. read more

I requested a an appointment via the website- which will never allow you to confirm over the internet. I received a call back from Fatou to set up my appointment. I inquired how many visits that I still had available. She had quite a few hiccups determining what I asked for and trying to explain- She placed me on hold after 10 minutes of conversation and then picked up the phone and we got disconnected. I called her back since I did not receive a return call from her. My 2 minute conversations ended up becoming a 20 minute conversation to determine how many visits that I still had left since I am a member. I asked to speak to another employee that may be able to assist me. Lisa came to the phone and she started out abrupt- I again when through the whole process, she cut me off as I was speaking and advised me- Ma'am I am trying to talk to you so if you would listen- WHAT??? Needless to say after I advised her that I would contact the franchise owner and advise him the customer service that I received from the staff and including the manager that happens to be Lisa. She changed her tone of voice and began to listen and talk to me as I was a customer. Since then I am canceling my membership that I have held since 2015! I agree with the other reviews, the massage therapist are wonderful- but they will lose customers with the front staff experience, attitude and customer service. read more
