My masseuse's hands were SO cold they gave me a chill through the blanket. He laughed it off the first time I asked him to warm them up, " I'm gonna steal some of your body heat " he said. I told him that made me uncomfortable and insisted he go warm them. He didn't know how to the stereo system, so traffic and construction noise was interrupted 6 or 7 times by him yelling "ALEXA PLAY SPA MUSIC". I followed up a few days later with a phone call, asking for no compensation, but offering feedback on my negative experience. I then received an unsolicited and lengthy email from "an owner" Neil Aronoff. He made excuses, insisted my negative experience was my fault, looked at my file and made personal assumptions about me based on my job title, offered me 20% off my next appt, gave me a bogus work number, and never returned my messages. You're better off living in pain than you are spending money in this Clinic.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit was pretty disappointing. My appointment was booked from 6:45-7:45 PM. I did arrive late around 7:03PM (as listed on my Google Maps history), so I completely understood that I might lose some treatment time because of that. However, the session ended at around 7:30 PM because I was told there was another appointment afterward. Cutting me off 15 mins of time. What confused me was that when I went to the front desk afterward, they told me her next appointment actually wasn't until 8PM, and later explained there had been a mistake with the scheduling/timing on acupuncturist' end. I understand mistakes happen, but I was still billed for the full hour appointment before I even came out, and no solution was offered other than being told to email the owner myself. It was frustrating because while I tried to be understanding about arriving late, it didn't feel like the issue was handled appropriately once it became clear the scheduling mistake was on their end as well. The appointment was good overall, I like that she also did a bit of massage while doing acupuncture. Though the cupping was a bit pinchy on my skin and maybe some oil application would be better as she was sliding it around like gwa sha. Just as I was relaxing into it, it got cut off sooner. The language barrier made it tough for her to explain conditions, so better if you can understand and can communicate with her in mandarin. Though not a big deal. I'll still consider coming back if they offer a resolution. Just sharing my experience so others are aware. They shouldn't have billed the customer already before they come out of their session. At that point the front desk couldn't do refunds or provide a solution. **Update owner called me directly after and offered 30 mins session for the mistake so I appreciate it. Since this one, Evergreen Beauty looks to be the first one coming from the east, on the north side of Spadina, I went inside, at this basement spot and was greeted by Jessica, hailing from Beijing, China. I opted for the usual combo, 30 min reflexology and 60 minutes shiatsu. Her technique was quite good and she was able to muster some decent pressure which is what I was after. At this point I have to admit that I'm getting a little confused about which one is which as they are all starting to look very similar. To add to the confusion, some of the staff move around so if you find someone you would like to use again, you need to ask for their card and contact. They sometimes work at one spa, and then move to a different one in the area so you need to ask for their availably and not assume anything. As well, their business cards may be from another spa, and not the one you were in. And since their technique and training vary widely, it helps to know what you're in for. The reflexology was done in the massage room, which wasn't quite as good since she skipped the soaking in hot water part, which is good in that there's more time for massage, but bad in that the soaking seems to help relax your feet and feels great! Ask about the soaking when you put in your order as you can choose to have the feet first, or vice versa. And ask if they include soaking in the procedure. Nice spot in the north strip of Chinatown!
