That was weird because my chimney is easily accessible (even without a ladder), but not totally uncommon. When they showed up in a regular pickup truck (no signage, no ladders, just a kid in a truck) he almost immediately said I needed a deep clean for $500. He pushed and pushed and pushed. I should have kicked him out of the house, but he proceeded with the "sweep" using 4 extension rods (only 12 feet total) and a brush that literally had 5 bristles. He could not possibly reach the entire flue or do even a mediocre job with the "brush" he used. HE WAS DONE IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES! Shame on me for not putting my boot in has a$$ and throwing him out. They are CROOKS.

We were suggested to take out the call number of Local Chimney Services. The entire process from the initial appointment to finishing the job was professionally run. He checked the chimney and discussed the reasons the cap was damaged and how it might allow rain, leaves and debris to enter the chimney. He also gave an explanation as to why the mesh protection on the new cap was crucial. We chose to have it replaced and it's a very noticeable improvement! Now the new caps are much more secure, properly sized and we don't have to worry about them anymore during storms.

The cleaning itself was also not done properly, and I noticed some damage afterward. The staff were not very professional or helpful when I raised my concerns. On top of that, some of the work was left incomplete. I expected better communication, care, and overall service for the price I paid!!!
