I had hired Masonry Restoration to perform tuck pointing work on an existing brick and mortar home that is approx. 50 years old which included a 10' x 10' concrete pad to be removed and replaced in my drive for a contracted price of $4,500.00. This started out when the owner had given me our agreed upon quote in March and stated that he would make me a priority to get the job completed. As of mid July the work had only been 1/3 complete on something that should have taken not longer than 5 full days. There was always an excuse by the owner to why he could not be there on a weekly basis. The work that was completed was sub-par at best. Areas that he said he was going to grind out where simply smeared over with mortar to cover the cracks to give it the appearance that is was a new joint to which then would be smeared on the brick always promising that he would acid wash the areas which never happened. I had paid him a total of $3,000.00 of the $4,500.00 which was a mistake at that time thinking he was going to come back and complete the job. After 3 weeks of more excuses he had stopped over to pick up all of his equipment when we were not home and was never going to contact me again. After pressuring him to why he is not there completing the work he stated that this work is tedious and has taken much longer than anticipated (he was on site 4 times for no longer than 3 hours at a time) and will not finish the remaining work as quoted which is now a breach of contract. In my opinion the owner has a lack of morals, work ethic and has now stole money from me by cashing checks and not completing the contracted work. Beware - As this company scams people!
