Anywho, eventually, we found this spot, and it was exactly how my aunt and uncle described it. Lots of nature and walking paths, and gorgeous views of the water. The campgrounds are also sizeable, and there were plenty of campers and families hanging out and enjoying the sunshine. There's also a little amphitheater area made of tree stumps and wooden benches with a wooden stage. I think you have a reserve that area if you wanna use it, though. This place is chill and great for passing the time (maybe like 2 hours or so if you meander through all of the walking trails). Also, it's pet-friendly.

It rained the whole weekend we were here but the host was pleasant and friendly, the people there definitely maintain the park beautifully, and the ranger came by several times which made us feel remotely safe. Plenty of fun in the area for boating and swimming, two spots for RV/Travel Trailer camping. It's a serene and beautiful site that was more than adequate for a weekend away. If you're looking for just a night or several weeks, this campground is well maintained with beautiful views, and friendly and hardworking staff members. Truly a gem.

I was staying on the peninsula for work. However, I had the later shift, so I had time to explore…read moreduring the day. Searching for waterfalls with easy access, I found Rocky Brook Falls! A few minutes drive off of 101 in Brinnon, WA you'll find Rocky Brook Falls. Across the street are a few parking spots, but beware that side is private property and there are a bunch of no trespassing signs. The entrance to the trail was not obvious to me. So I took some photos showing the path. But it's a short walk to the falls, which by the way, was a lot larger than I thought it would be! You will have to climb over some boulders to access the pool at the base of the falls, so just be aware of that. I came on a summer weekday, so there was only another couple with their dog there. You practically had the place to yourself! It has been one of the dryer summers, so I imagine after a good rainfall, the falls would be roaring and serene. Also note, there are no bathroom facilities and no cell service in the immediate area.

It's a very small footprint for the park itself, but go down one path and it opens up to a nice sized shoreline. There are signs saying that you can't do any shellfish harvesting, so don't come with your clam digging equipment, but it's a nice place to walk along the water. I came on a gray day, so it was damp and cold, but this place is probably really nice during the winter. There are also signs that you can't shoot off fireworks, so be good. Even though you're near the water, it would be a bear to get fire trucks into the park if a fire broke out.

The area is very beautiful where you see the lake and also green grass on the side. When you walk onto the beach, there are so many oyster shells that have been chucked to the side. The beach in itself is kind of smelly so be prepared for it to smell kind of unpleasant. You need to wear big boots that pass your ankle because when you go into the mud, your foot can get trapped. The texture of the mud is kind of like a clay so when you sink your foot in, you might get stuck. This happened to me several of times. The Manila clams are a good size and really easy to get. You need to bring gardening shovels and lots of plastic bags/water and hand sanitizer. It gets pretty messy digging from clams here.

The clams are really muddy with only muddy water to clean them. Watch out for clams that are empty with mud inside or with holes in the shells. You have to cross train tracks to get over to the beach and park which is worth mentioning. The playground has an area for older and younger kiddos. Restrooms are available, but not always well kept. A lot of picnic tables throughout and space to make your own picnic area if you wanted. Overall: I recommend in the summer - come earlier if you prefer it a little less crowded!

I was here for a day visit, NOT camping, lol, so my review is focused on this park's day use areas. Parking was extremely limited in my opinion. Maybe there is another parking lot across the street (?). I read about an overflow lot in another review but on my visit it was fairly empty so I was able to park in the main lot. The regular bathrooms are closed and they have portable bathrooms available. This park has limited to no shady areas. A few picnic tables under a forested area but not sure if they were camp sites. Walking on the shoreline was amazing! So peaceful and relaxing and I was able to put my feet in the water. It was so cold! I also took the opportunity to sit at a bench and "ground" myself in the grass. Super gorgeous and felt amazing to be here. The Hood Canal waters are stunning. Get out there and enjoy life! SYOY!

I look forward to visiting this park again when the day use area is finished. From the looks of it they are doing some major upgrades. SYOY!
