It's truly a breathtaking church. Since Hamtramck was Polish settled most of the parishioners are still a large majority Polish. They have mass in both English and Polish. Father Frankowski is warm and inviting and makes you feel welcome whether you're a parishioner or visiting for the first time. My grandmother and my great grandmother got married in this church. I've been coming to mass here on and off over the years since I was 11. There was no other church I wanted to get married in. On May 26, 2018 it officially happened. My awesome husband agreed to have our wedding in Michigan which is where I was born and raised. It was truly magical and honoring my grandparents legacy is something I'll be grateful for the rest of my life.

He called visitors out in church for not knowing their name, and not in a kind, welcoming way. But he was aggressive and said it was his church, I had to remind him, it's God's church and every one should be welcomed. It threw a lot of the members off. And this is neither here or there, but the entire first family is damaged and they should not be leading! Their newly gay daughter has a warrant out for keeping her kids from their father. And the parents support her actions. The service is 5 hours long because they are still stuck in the 1900s. Any who, that's my review of the church, I will never go back. Lol I can't after voicing my opinion, lol it's not al allowed.

Oh, and of course... the food! Though Living Zen Organics has disbanded since the pandemic, Myungju is beginning to start doing temple brunches again. The first was today and it warmed my heart to see 40 folks digging into mermaid stew, kale salad, butternut squash soup, roasted root veggies, tea, etc like the good old days. We left spiritual uplifted. The message was delivered in 1 hour which makes me want to go back every Sunday. I felt at ease and comfortable, I wasn't pointed out and force to speak in front of everyone. They had two big screens so if you sat in the back you could still see and read what was going on. The words to all the songs were posted on the big screen.
