Saint Florian Catholic church was built in 1907 and it is stunning both inside and out. You feel like you've walked back in time with all the stained glass and ornate architecture. It's truly a breathtaking church. Since Hamtramck was Polish settled most of the parishioners are still a large majority Polish. They have mass in both English and Polish. Father Frankowski is warm and inviting and makes you feel welcome whether you're a parishioner or visiting for the first time.
My grandmother and my great grandmother got married in this church. I've been coming to mass here on and off over the years since I was 11. There was no other church I wanted to get married in. On May 26, 2018 it officially happened. My awesome husband agreed to have our wedding in Michigan which is where I was born and raised. It was truly magical and honoring my grandparents legacy is something I'll be grateful for the rest of my life. read more
