Dr. Santos and Dr. Bonilla are great! They are both very empathetic and caring doctors. They take time to listen and talk with you. You are able to easily be able to tell them of your concerns. I like that they often provide choices of natural remedies. They are supportive with an eye to the future to head off possible future problems. I haves been going to them for many years and even though I had to change doctors because of insurance coverage, I always return at the first available opportunity (insurance). Other medical providers simply do not have warmth and understanding, which is what I really want when severe medical problems come our way. They will tell you the truth and your options. They will give you tips about how to increase your healthy lifestyle options that take my budget into account. read more

Well I never write reviews but when it comes to your body I guess it rubbed me the wrong way. I went in because I tore my left pectoral muscle on bench press. I clearly told the PA that i felt it pop off( rupture )from my shoulder because that's what the pectoral muscle attaches to. I even went as far as showing her my left deformed pectoral compared to my right pectoral where the pectoral is balled up and you can see the pocket that is formed next to my arm pit. So that I can have a MRI done. So I was prescribed a shoulder prescription for a MRI. I went to the MRI place the technician told me it's for the shoulder so I won't be giving you a MRI on your chest.... I call MASF speak to the PA go into detail about my concern and why wasn't my chest given a MRI. She tells me there isn't a MRI Scan for the Chest. " The system only allowed me to prescribe the Shoulder." So my issue is why even send me to have a MRI done without having my chest scanned. Now I just wasted time and not one thing has been done about my pectoral tear. Now I'm to schedule a appt with a Orthopedic Specialist with no data supporting my injury. Back at square 1. So my point is if you have a Sports Related injury do not go here. Im not a doctor but my injury is clear as day and should of been a easy diagnosis. read more

This was the best doctor's visit that I have experienced since being in Miami! I have been a resident of Miami for two years now and have been on the search for a good doctor. I visited two other doctors previously that I would never return to. I was skeptical about MASF Docs (the new branding for Medical Associates of South Florida) but figured I would give them a try after reading a few great reviews. When I called to make my appointment, I was greeted by Martha. After hanging up, I'm sure I called her at least 3 other times with questions or for assistance with accessing their online pre-registration and she was patient with me. To top it off, she was able to get me in for an appointment the next day. It is very hard to get a doctor's appointment in Miami because either there's a waiting list or doctors are not accepting new patients. When I arrived for my appointment this morning, I was called back by Arnold (nurse assistant) within five minutes. Arnold was very polite, patient, a great listener, showed empathy and sympathy after I mentioned the recent loss of a family member, gentle, and helpful with providing me with resources that can help with some of the questions I had. After doing the preliminary work, Arnold informed me that Dr. Mercade would be in momentarily. I didn't wait longer than 2 minutes before I was greeted by Dr. Fernanda Mercade. She came into the room, extended her hand and introduced herself. From her questions, I can tell that she had taken time to read my file prior to my arrival. Throughout my visit, she was very attentive, kind, helpful, and sought to find the best method of care for me instead of rushing to medicines. All in all, it was an amazing visit! I have officially found a doctor's office in Miami that I can call my own. read more

Doctor Guillermo Santo has been my doctor since 2010 and I feel extremely well taken care of and accompanied by him. During a long and complicated process of treatment, after a series of orthopedic surgeries, I received full attention from Dr. Santos, who was always attentive to my needs. Doctor Santos reminds me of my childhood when we had the so-called Family Physicians. I definitely recommend Medical Associates of South Florida. read more

I've been a patient of MASF for 10 years. I have never had a bad experience when I come into the office. Martha, in the front desk, is very attentive when you come in. The medical assistant has been there for many years. She's very professional. I hate getting labs drawn, but she always makes the experience a pleasant one. I'm seen by both Dr. Bonilla, and her husband Dr. Santos. They both have amazing bedside manner, are caring, and they take their time with the patients. I have gone to other providers for my primary care, but nothing is better than the care I receive at MASF. I now live about 30 min away (I used to be a Miami Springs resident) and I will always make the time to go to this office. read more

My recent interaction with the staff has left me less than satisfied. Slow response to calls from my specialist, lack of follow-up from a medical assistant who is supposed to call patients with test results, talks down to patients in a bit of condescending manner, mix up with blood tests where I had to return to retake the tests. I still like the physicians there, but the staff's inadequacy is reflecting negatively on the practice. read more

The staff there does not work as a team, and do not follow up with patients, I personally called them and told MIRNA my new insurance information, I spoke with her specifically and told her this information, and weeks later I need to see an ENT doctor, and I have been waiting 3 weeks for them to put the referral in so I can see the doctor, come to find out MIRNA never put in my new insurance information and that is what caused the delay of 3 weeks, They are very rude in the matter of placing me on hold without saying anything, and also blocking my phone number in two different occasions, this is the worst doctors office I have been, Dr. Santos is great but the people that work for him are not, they DO NOT CARE about the patients. read more

Please think twice before going to Miami Springs Medical Associates of South Florida - This was an absolutely horrible experience!!! I hadn't been there since 2013 and now I am more than reminded of the reasons why I stayed away for so long. The Dr. is amazing but the staff is very, very, rude, unprofessional, and clueless. The doctor's assistant, Maria, completely butchered my arm just to take out a blood sample. I am extremely bruised, my arm is in pain, and this was the first that I had ever experienced someone so unbelievably clumsy that blood was gushing out after the removal of the needle; of which she had poking upwards at my skin. Furthermore, the Dr. prescribed me medication, which was supposed to be physically handed over to me, however it was not. When I requested the prescription at the front counter, I was only met by two impolitely leering women that were not willing to assist me at all. They were just rude and condescending when I simply asked why my prescription was not given to me (the dr nor the assistant advised whom was to issue the prescription or how it was to be filled) Go figure, the confusion! - At that time, the receptionists advised it would be sent electronically because the Dr. was already with another patient. (This alone is ridiculous) - Nonetheless, I left and was called an hour after I left the Dr. office (mind you, I am returned to work at this point) by this, Maria, who refused to take ownership of the fact that there was a major error with this process, as SHE was the one who was supposed to give me the prescription, yet when I asked her the typical protocol, she simply claimed "I don't know" after having to ask several times. This answer alone is enough for me to not return and to question her knowledge and placement at this practice? -"IDK" is not an answer that you should be receiving from any Dr.'s assistant. Is this not their occupation and what they are supposed to be trained on?? Yet, she "doesn't know" - It is unbelievable that these women even have a position at this practice; it is only damaging the reputation of the efficient doctors working there. It is very sad to know and experience how they treat their patients. It took me 4 years to forget why I stopped coming here and 5 minutes to be reminded. - More so, once I returned AGAIN after already having left the first time (which my occupation is 30 minutes away) I was met with the same rude, unprofessional, and offensive faces of these discourteous women in the reception area. I was there to collect my prescription which should have been in my possession already. But by this point I was already so disgusted with the service that I decided I needed to speak up, so I requested to make a complaint, however, they refused to give me any way of issuing a formal complaint, and would not assist me to speak with the ill-attended assistant, Maria. Therefore, I left; however, as I advised them, I will be sure to make my formal complaint with the Dr herself on my follow up visit. I'm sure she will be embarrassed to say the least that these horribly trained attendants are representing her name. I would advise anyone who is contemplating to attend this practice to not waste their time. Save yourself the frustration and go to a well-staffed and reviewed physician's practice that treats you like a patient.
