On the voucher we could order two entrees. We chose Onion Bhajji (4 PCS) and MIX PAKORA ASSORTED (6 PCS) so we were a little disappointed to see only four things on the plate as we sort of expected to see ten. I suppose that we were being little piggies. Our entree was probably worth $7.08. The mains were pretty good and the little dishes were filled to nearly overflowing. We had Chicken Madras ($16.90) and Mattar Panneer ($15.50) with rice ($4) and two naan ($6) and two drinks ($7). In total around $57 and we paid $35. I really don't normally add all these things up to see if the voucher was worth it but there are some places where an alarm bell rings and you just gotta wonder..... The food was nice and the service was good and we were full. There were quite a few in the restaurant from the local businesses having their lunch meal deal. It was also BYO wine and beer or at least one table thought so? You can be lucky with parking as it is in a business area and you have to access the area from a driveway that comes off the roundabout.

A Hidden Secret Gem in Hunters Hill!…read more I am a regular diner at Mount Everest Nepalese Restaurant in Hunters Hill. It is probably my favourite local restaurant, and where I dine the most often with my family. 5/5 stars in my opinion. All the dishes are amazing. Good, generous servings, well presented, and all very reasonably priced. The wine selection is also very good and very well priced. Their Sagwaala dishes are my favourite, and I always have the Vege Momo as an entree. These are beautiful dumplings. But I've tried most of their dishes and base flavours, which are always excellently done. Saffron Chicken, Tikka Masala, Chicken Chettinad, etc are other favourites. I also like the Nepalese goat dish. A small thing, but the cheese naans are always VERY cheesy! Which is great. All dishes are beautifully cooked and presented. The flavors in all dishes are very well balanced, rich and complex, and so many flavours dance around in the mouth. The service is also great. It often fairly quiet, because it is off the main street, so I don't think most people know it is even there! I really hope it sees more customers, because they deserve it, although while dining there, I see they do a lot of business through delivery services, so clearly other people like their food. Although, it is nice that it is not a loud restaurant. I am a bit conflicted between wanting them to see more customers and enjoying a quiet restaurant (: It has some nice views of the Gladesville bridge and bay, too. Overall, I highly recommend Mount Everest to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Nepalese dining experience, or a great restaurant in general. Great food, generous servings, good service etc.

It is open 7 days a week in the evening and lunch by arrangement. There is limited parking in the street but there is off street parking nearby. Six of us were dining on the Mt Everest Special Banquet and the voucher gave us nearly 40% discount. Apart from looking a little confused when the six of us arrived and getting the "have you booked?" ( we had booked online and received a confirmation email ), the service was excellent. We were given the offer of varying some of the mains and the level of hotness. We stuck with what was on offer. The only variation was that we did not get a choice of dessert. The first course of one pappadum each seemed a bit lean but followed with a variety of four second courses we started to fill up. There were five balti dishes for the six of us; 2xButter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Dal Makhani, Beef Vindalo. Dessert was one Gulab Jamun each. I suspect that we may have also got a 40% reduction is the amount of food that was on offer too; we may have come out even. The surprise of the evening is the excellent view over Tarban Creek with the glimpse of the Gladesville Bridge at the back of the restaurant.

Set over three levels means you don't have to wait long to be seated, even though it's peak hours. The dishes are tasty. You'll find most if not all your Yum-Cha favourites here. From the classic BBQ Pork Bun, Prawn Dumpling, Chicken Feet, Steamed Gai Lan, and more. To the adventurous Braised Offal. Finish off with Asian dessert favourites Mango Pancake, Egg/Custard Tart, and my new favourite Chinese Sugar Donuts. You have to try their Sugar Donuts! The only downside is the frequency of the cart is scarce, especially if you're seated on the third floor, so you might need to order some dishes instead of waiting forever for them to come.

The waiters being Chinese of course didn't understand what chile was when I asked for it at least three times and then told me I had to pay an extra $2.00 for it. As we paid for the bill they tried to rip me and my friend off making out that they couldn't understand when we asked for the total amount. If you like to try out a real yum cha with value for money check out the Emperor's Choice Tea House (www.emperorsteahouse.com) in the Sydney CBD or New Flower Drum (ww.newflowerdrum.com.au) in Hoxton Park. I've found the food to be quite consistent of late, which is a change from what I had noticed in its earlier years shortly after its opening. Food is always fresh, and you'd never be left waiting for more than 15 minutes, even on the busier nights. Lunch is more past paced and casual with a majority of the customers coming from work to stop by for a quick and easy meal (such as myself). The pad see ewe is usually my go to, not too oily like most places do it. Priced at $10 (like the rest of the lunch menu) it's not the best in sydney, but it is very good, and even better when you consider the value and the convenience. Dinner is a little more formal and relaxed (I've taken the family there), and on more than one occasion I've stricken good conversation with the owner who seems to be there everyday. Food portion size is average, but still presents good value at dinner time. The water that was given was chilled and even had ice cubes, I haven't tried the tea before, but surely if you were not happy with it (as in earlier review) it doesn't seem like such a hassle to ask for hotter water, the tea is quite cheap (I'm guessing less than $2/head) so I don't think I'd be expecting something that's brewed for hours in coffee shops/specialty drink shops. Overall, it's probably the best thai in the area. PS- the chicken doesn't taste like pork, and i'd be somewhat weary in trusting a reviewer who does not know the difference. to be fair- once or twice things have not been on par for me, but all other times things have been very good.

The lady who took our order valued our business and went above the usual servers i see im todaya society. She repeated the ordered kept saying yes please as we said each item on the menu. I ordered a lemonade while my friend ordered a coke when she brought it to our table they were in cans.. i was happy to see her rake the time to open the can and pour it into the glass in front of us. Most places usually just put the cans on the table and walk away. For the entre we decided on the chicken and prawn dumplings. They didnt take long to reach the table at all but the server felt it was too long and apologized for the wait. Shortly after we finshed the entre the waitress came and took our plates.. brought two clean new ones and changed our dirty plates.. amazing!!
