All-vegan Chinese food, with a small but well-curated menu. Each main comes with rice. We ordered two mains -- a sichuan soy chicken dish and a sichuan smoked tofu dish -- as well as some stir fried morning glory (total: 700 SEK!). Everything was incredible: spicy, richly flavoured, fairly authentic. This was one of the best Chinese meals we've had outside our hometown of Vancouver, which is hard to beat for authentic Chinese. The prices are pretty nuts, but that's Stockholm for you. The food quality is so good, we almost didn't mind paying such prices. Highly recommended.

However the five dishes we shared weren't all very good, the spicy cauliflower had a distinct burnt flavour, the stuffed mini aubergines were very vinegary and quite awful. The interior is VERY dark and despite the restaurant being quite empty when we arrived 5pm-ish we were seated in the darkest inner room, at the smallest table right at the kitchen and the entrance to the inner room were everyone passed by. The pitabread (very dry) was stuffed in a plastic bag in a basket on every table. When the food arrived it was hart near impossible to fit everything on the small table for two. I did however enjoy the patata brava-like dish, the mushroom/onion/garlic, the beetroots and the passionfruit juice. And I'd love to try the other vegan dishes on the menu, and I'd be happy to give a 4 if the next visit will be more overall satisfying.

We got a couple of beers with our meal to wash it all down and this meal just hit the spot. This was close to a train stop, open late-ish and had good prices. I could sense the herd mentality from the staff at those locations. When we walked in it was empty downstairs. We asked if there were any vegetarian options, and we were told that it was a vegetarian restaurant. That sealed the deal for us! Just head in and fix up a small plate of salad items (olives, turnips, pickles, etc) to much on while you review the menu. (This must be in place to take the edge off crabby tourists and hungry locals.) Find a table, review the menu, and place your order at the counter (when you're ready, of course). We ordered a Falafel plate and a hummus plate to share, and the portions were very generous. The meals are simple, made from fresh local ingredients, and skillfully prepared. The result is a perfect dish. My wife (lifetime vegetarian) said this may have been one of her best meals of this trip, and the best hummus she had ever had. The simplicity and rich character of the dish was really great. Unfortunately we didn't find this place until our last day in Stockholm, and could only try two dishes. When we left, there had been a few more couples sitting outside on the beach chairs that were set up under umbrellas (on astroturf!). I believe this was a new restaurant that recently opened. If you're nearby be sure to try it. P.S. No pubic WIFI, which seems to be the norm in Stockholm.

The options could have had more, for some reason there was only one vegetarian curry, but that might have been my misunderstanding of the menu. We had two types of naan - garlic and sweet - and the garlic naan was pretty bland, I couldn't taste any garlic. The sweet naan was better but in general the naan bread reminded me of pizza bread, it was a lot more compact and dry than other naan I've had. The service was a bit slow yet friendly. The restaurant was pretty cozy so definitely a nice place for a lunch if you're not expecting anything amazing.

Uh oh...not impressed. And I really wish I was!…read more I've heard great things about this place. I was in the mood for Indian and I was nearby so I gave it a shot. It was a Sunday around 1pm - time for lunch - but the place was almost entirely empty. So things should have gone quickly - but service was extremely slow. It was a good 5 minutes after we sat down before we even received menus. I checked in on Yelp to get the check-in deal - a free mango lassi drink - but when I showed the waitress the coupon and code she just seemed confused. "What? Huh? Free what? Why? Hm. Um. Ok. Just the free drink?" It felt like she thought I was trying to trick her or something. The food took a loooong time to arrive - it's what I would expect at a sit-down restaurant in the evening for dinner. I can appreciate that it's "fine dining" and the food is made fresh to order, which is great, but given that we were the only customers there (and we all had almost exactly the same dish) it still seemed odd. When the food arrived it was delicious, but not the most amazing I've had in Stockholm. Mukut is better in my opinion. Also, the portions were surprisingly small. The prices at Cumin Club are pretty high so I was expecting a pile of (albeit cheap) rice. But I could have eaten twice the amount of rice I received. Usually at Indian restaurants the servings are quite large, and especially for these prices I was disappointed. And...she forgot the mango lassi! She didn't come back until we were finished with our meal so I had to remind her then. "Oh, right, the mango chutney!" Um, no, I don't want mango chutney after I've finished my meal thanks. I corrected her - mango lassi. She brought me the drink and it was amazing. But it wasn't enough to raise my review above two stars. I adore Indian food, but Cumin Club is not a club where I want a membership.
