Wow. Just wow. In…read moreStockholm for a week for work, I had my share of "Swedish" food. I also had an inexplicable craving for Indian one night. Seeing the decent reviews on Yelp, I stopped in. The menu was mostly in Swedish, and I was looking for something like the rich British Indian food I'd fallen in love with years ago, so I asked the waiter, who was in his fifties or older, for a recommendation in this category. He didn't hesitate in the slightest: "get the kashmiri lamb," he said. They had tikka masala, and I even asked if they had something "tikka masala like or better" so I really hadn't expected a lamb dish recommendation - which in my experience are rarely if ever served with rich and creamy sauces. He sensed my apprehension, and said: "if you don't like it, I'll get you something else." Impressed with his confidence, I agreed to the deal. Good call. Holy wow, it was good. Incredibly tender ribs of lamb (read: moister than you thought lamb could be) were swimming in a sauce as rich and creamy as any tikka masala, but oddly seemingly with more flavor. Man, I'm glad I trusted that guy. Also had a garlic naan (30 KR) and a cobra (89 KR) for good measure. If I'm back in Stockholm, I'll be back here too. Kashmiri lamb, 239 KR,

We ordered Chicken tikka balti(#49) and Palak Paneer(#64) along with naan (the Indian bread). The food was delicious and tasty, we enjoyed it quite a bit. Total bill was around 320 SEK, we felt it was reasonably priced for dinner of two people in Stockholm. The waiter greeted us pleasantly, tried talking to us in one of the Indian languages. I felt it was a great gesture of him and it made us feel homely. We wanted to try one chicken and one vegetarian dish. He suggested us to try the palak paneer, which turned out to be great with rice. The chicken dish was better with the bread. We wanted to try the chicken curry a bit spicier and with less oil, so we informed him of it and it was just perfect. The temperature of the food is alright and the quantity was quite filling. Overall, my friend loved the food more than me. I enjoyed it quite a bit though. Even the waiting time was not much, we got our food quickly. Overall I was very satisfied with the service and the dining experience, it was just what we wanted for the evening.

They are open until about 11pm, and the interior is really nice and cozy. They have a wide selection of indian food, I ordered the Paneer curry item, it's really sweet, not spicy but really delicious. We also ordered the slow cooked lamb specialty and that was definitely the better option. Super flavorful. The options could have had more, for some reason there was only one vegetarian curry, but that might have been my misunderstanding of the menu. The naan was of course really good, fresh, and hot from the "clay"oven. The service is also really nice and pretty quick!

Walking down Odengatan, I was looking for a light meal and wasn't sure if Indian was the right choice. The menu looked interested so I took a chance. So glad I did, it was absolutely fantastic. They made my food without nuts (I'm allergic). I didn't know it was possible to do that on Chicken Tikka Butter Masala. I'll be asking that at other restaurants from now on. I'll definitely be back here. What a gem.

Tre Indier is one place where I have found to be very close to typical North Indian taste in terms of flavor and spiciness. We arrived bit late for dinnertime so the restaurant was not at all crowded leaving us with several options on where to sit. We were handed an English menu upon being seated which was appreciated.
