I love Masala 2! I've been back several times, and it's consistently delicious. The dal, samosas, and masala dishes are all excellent. I really appreciate that you can choose your spice level -- from mild to very spicy -- which makes it easy to get exactly what you like. Overall, it's one of the better Indian restaurants in the Valley and definitely worth the trip.

After trying the amazing chicken tikka masala last time, I decided to pop in and try something new. When I saw the owner pulling out gorgeous looking chicken pieces on a skewer out the tandoor, I knew I had to try it. As a result, absolutely the best Chicken Tandoori I've ever had. The owner told me that he has his own secret recipe and does not deviate from it. The chicken came out juicy with an unbelievable char, color and taste from the marinade. Each bite of the chicken was full of flavor and super special. The chicken was served on the bed of Indian rice, which absorbed some of the marinade by the time I got home. That buttery rice with a hint of savory flavor notes from the tandoori chicken, was a perfect side, as it worked in harmony with the intense delicious flavor of the chicken itself. As I finished eating it, it left me craving more and that's always a good sign. While I took my order to go, I did contemplate on just eating there. The spot itself is small with around 6 tables, but is very cozy and very welcoming. All the tables were clean, the air circulation was proper and the wall art was on point. Definitely will be back!

Masala 2 is a little homey Indian restaurant featuring a large menu with a lot of the main staples and their variations. It just opened up a couple months ago as of this writing. I wasn't expecting too much but I was definitely impressed. The inside is quaint with a few tables with an open kitchen view. It seems like a suitable joint for takeout especially. I did a take out order recently and the experience was easy; I had ordered online via Yelp/GrubHub. The gentleman was friendly and answered a question I had with kindness. The order was on time as noted, and everything was packed up nicely. They have a shared parking lot with other businesses and the parking lot has a good amount of spaces, otherwise there is also street parking available. The menu is quite large with a bit of everything: appetizers, soups and salads, various entrees (chicken, lamb, seafood, vegetables), and desserts and beverages. A lot of the entrees come with rice and most items have a choice of spice level to choose. Portions are good and most items can be shared I feel. Chicken Tikka - Boneless white meat marinated with herbs and spices. I did a medium level of spice which was fine and had a slight little kick. Chicken was tender and the rice it came with was fine. Chicken Saag - Cooked with spinach and herbs. The saag was very flavorful and it was very herbaceous and included tomatoes and green bell pepper. I was able to taste some ginger as well which is a typical component in saags. The medium level was good for me. Garlic Naan - Four pieces. Naan topped with garlic, cilantro. Prices are great and portions are generous. The hours here so far are M-Sun from 3:00pm to 3:00am. So a very late lunch, early dinner, dinner and late night eats is what this is. Goodbye late night fast food and hello late night Indian!

I have to say this is the best Indian food I've had in years!! The owner is very nice! We dinned in which I always preferred but the place is very quaint with only a few tables. The garlic basil naan is a must!! We had chicken vindaloo, chicken tandoori, chicken Masala. Beef samosas is a must too. I'm sure everything is great! Super authentic flavor and so tasty!

Not that I wouldn't LOVE to indulge in a spicy Indian Dinner that my mouth would enjoy but my stomach can't handle. Chef made our order perfect for our sensitive stomachs. Cute restaurant with pleasant decor, super clean and easy parking. Chicken was flavorful, tender. Lots of hearty pieces of mushrooms in Biryani and excellent naan bread with perfect consistency. Friendly chef and large menu that I would definitely go back to explore more dishes of yummy Indian food in the valley!

To all Muslim customers: this is a HALAL food joint. You are going to love this spot. It's open from 2PM-1AM everyday as of the time of this review. The food is so tasty and fresh I've come multiple days at a time. The portions of orders I had have been enough for lunch and dinner at a very reasonable price. This is a pretty convenient takeout spot that just opened up recently and I am already in love with the location and convenience of it being right next to a gas station. You have full view of the kitchen and seeing the owner work his magic of preparing and cooking up some fine meals. The owner has got their own take on classic dishes that ensures high quality tastes no matter how far you are taking the food home. I recommend checking out the naan orders too because this is one of the few places where the naan is focused more on the soft side without being too thin; I don't like crunchy/hard naan personally. My orders have so far taken 10 minutes or less and the inside is quite cozy although small (but that's part of the charm of the place). Get to this spot while you can before it blows up even more in LA!

Awesome authentic Indian food. Cooked to order. We came in to dine around midnight and were told they only do take out. But the hours on their website say dine in available until 3:45. Wish there was more clarity there. Best to order ahead of time as this is a classic mom and pop so it will take a while but your food will be fresh. Bless these people they work very hard and I respect so much their hard work and dedication to their business. Support your local small businesses! Best Vegetable samosas I've had probably ever. The papadams also very good. And the vegetable soup w chicken very flavorful and warms the soul. I appreciate and have so much respect for this place and will be a loyal customer for the foreseeable future. Also FINALLY! A local place that's open LATE! And is not fast food! Why aren't more places catching on to this? There are plenty of us night owls who need food healthy tasty food after hours and don't wanna eat Taco Bell or McDonald's nasty food.

It now runs at $14.99 plus tax, very reasonable, I might add, with a delicious selection of mouthwatering dishes. Recently, I found dahi vada (deep fried lentil donuts soaked in yoghurt and topped with chutneys and spices) as one of the selections (never seen that in any Indian buffet). I told them to order plenty of food, since we'd worked up an appetite on the boat, and we would take home the leftovers. They ordered a lot - appetizers, curries and dosas - and there were barely any leftovers. It was late and the restaurant was pretty empty, so we got lots of service attention. Everything was delicious. Because we enjoyed our first time here so much, my husband and I came back about a month later on a weekday for an early lunch right as they were supposed to open. There didn't seem to be anyone actually working the seating area; a person came out eventually and told us that someone would take our order soon. It was quite a while before anyone came, the food took a long time to be served, and the food wasn't as good as I remembered. Very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 4 stars, not 5. Yesterday, driving back from Ojai on the 101 at lunchtime, we decided to give the restaurant another try. The service was very prompt and friendly and the food was very good. We ordered a vegetarian thali and an onion rava masala dosa to share between the two of us. The thali gave us a chance to have a sample of lots of their dishes. The dosa was awesomely crunchy, with large portions of sambar and several chutneys. We were stuffed before we finished our meal. Our total bill was only $30, plus tax and tip. We will definitely come back again, hopefully with a group of friends so we can order a lot of dishes and share. I have to assume that our one disappointing lunch was just a bad day - maybe their staff was out sick or something. But two of our three meals here were great and I look forward to eating that dosa again! We would come here more often, but we live half an hour away.

Yes this is my eighth review that I've remembered to give, but if I could come here every day, I wouldn't get sick of it.

Been wanting to try Baba Sweets for quite awhile and never got around to trying it until today…read more They are know for their Indian vegetarian dishes and sweets of course. It was very busy inside, but the line moved quickly. You wait by the sign until they call you up. You can get a one, two or three item combo, 3 item being $12.99 and what I got. They are nice, but are rushing you along, so be ready to order. I got the Chana Masala, Sahi Paneer and Aloo Beigan, comes with rice and onions as well as plain or seasoned yogurt, I got seasoned and Naan bread, garlic was my choice. If you get a 3 item, you also get a free little desert, Gajrela, which is grated carrots that are sautéed in Ghee, Milk and Cardamom. So tasty! Everything was excellent, my favorite in order of I hate to rate them would be the Sahi Paneer, Chana Masala and Aloo Beigan, but they were all great and I will be back to try other items. We also got 1/2 dozens Samosas, comes with two chutneys as well, yum!! Inside is bigger than it looks, a good amount of seating as well as some outdoor. The parking lot is also much larger than when you see it from the street, so you should be able to get a spot. This is a great find and one I would happily recommend to all to get some great food and deserts, eat there and take some home. Enjoy!
