Indian Masala House is a great restaurant for parties of all sizes. Their interior has a selection of seating and wonderful decor making this a great place for a larger gathering. The food is amazing. I tried the Tandoori Dinner for Two which is a phenomenal value. You get a good amount of food all of which is delicious. The Chicken and Lamb Tandoori were flavorful and cooked to perfection, paired with the Channa Masala made for a delicious meal. I also loved Onion Pakora and Veggie Samosa. Our waiter was extremely helpful and offered us options for when the Dinner for two had an option that we didn't necessarily want. I had the food delivered so I don't have anything to say regarding the service or ambiance. What I can tell you is the food was so good. I got my go to white girl Murgh Makhani aka Butter Chicken, it was some of the best I've had in long time. Creamy, not too sweet, lots of chicken. I also had the Sag Paneer, that was good also. Both entrees came with rice, which nowadays they usually don't. I ordered their Paratha, mint chutney- which I love and their Raita. It was a wonderful dinner/ next day lunch. I moved away 6 months ago - to come back and visit and be so delighted to see how they have beautifully remodeled and created a truly lovely dining ambiance. The food is still the absolute best Indian food you can find in LA which incredible Tofu subs for Paneer in their dishes. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options - its a go to for everyone. I ordered twice from DoorDash. So the first time I ordered samosas , chicken tikka masala combination with cucumber salad & rice pudding. I wanted the chicken tikka masala spicy and it was the most sweetest thing ever. But the samosas were really good. So I ordered a second time for the samosas and I got two order of that , chicken tikka, and mango lassi. But this time the samosas had lint all over it which was disgusting all 4 of those had pieces of lint/ tiny hairs not sure if they dropped it or it was from a napkin but regardless it was disgusting to eat. The mango lassi was okay and the chicken tikka had absolutely no flavor. Even though I gave this restaurant a try twice I would say I wouldn't recommend, didn't meet my expectations and wasn't clean. We were craving Indian food and found this place on Yelp. Street parking is easy around the restaurant. The owner was very friendly. It wasn't crowded, so it was easy to get a table. It seems like they do a lot of to-go business. We ordered the chicken tikka-masala and the chicken korma. You can choose your spice level. I mixed the korma and masala sauces together, which I know is unconventional, but the creamy nuttiness of the korma went really well with the sweet tomato tiki-masala. Yummm! They were also tasty separately, especially the tikka-masala, which I would dry OME back for. We also ordered the garlic naan which was okay. The naan was a little dry and there wasn't enough garlic incorporated in it. Although we were the only customers in the restaurant, we had to wait a lot. It took a while to get our food, but at least we knew it was freshly made. But, after we got our food, and had finished eating, it took a long time before anyone came to check on us. We finally were able to get a box for our leftovers, but then no one could be found to get the check and again to pay the bill. Even though the owner and server were very friendly and welcoming, they were socializing in the next room not realizing we were ready to box up, pay and leave. My wife brought home take-out from here last night and we were both really impressed. In a large city that sadly has few good Indian options, this place stands out. Not famous, fancy or overpriced and yet delicious food prepared in a healthy way. Fresh (the saag paneer tasted more like fresh spinach than spices) and not greasy (they thankfully don't overuse the ghee), this is a welcome change from the small anonymous Indian spots throughout town that serve mediocre food, regardless of authenticity. Our kids (2 & 6) devoured the chicken tikka while my wife and I shared sag paneer and lamb korma, both of which were really nice. Again, the big stand out here is no rancid oil, no excessive ghee, just clean delicious food. I was extremely disappointed with my recent order from this restaurant. The chicken tikka masala was obnoxiously sweet, lacking any of the traditional spices or heat that define the dish. It tasted more like a sugary tomato bisque with a few pieces of chicken thrown in. The chicken makhani was equally bland and overly sweet. I actually had to add salt, masala seasoning, and other spices at home, along with chili powder, just to make it palatable, and it still was overly sweet and a major disappointment. My girlfriend, who is of Latin descent, makes better butter chicken and masala than this restaurant--and she's not even Indian. I wouldn't eat here again, even if it were free. Why would anyone make the dish with so much sugar. I should've trusted the other review who also mentioned about the sweetness. The server was very polite and helpful in the ordering process but they also need to work on the pricing listed on yelp vs. the menu prices as everything is off. I had high hopes due to the high rating on yelp but I seriously wonder how anyone who's had actual authentic Indian food could find this dish palatable.
