First of all, the negotiations were all verbal and Dovlet said it'll be $190 for 1.5 hrs of work plus the clips to fix my window that wouldn't go back up. I said cool sounds good went to lunch came back in LESS than an hour and walked in on Dovlet and his assistant PLAYING ON THEIR PHONES in their little office...I asked if it was done cuz I didn't get a call like he said he would, and they both look flustered and said "Ohh yea we just finished". That was already sketch to me like whatever ok I'll just pay the $190. When I ask if there is any type of paperwork about the work done I gotta sign he says, "Yea here sign this" and it was the little receipt that you sign for when you slide your debit card from a reader and THATS IT! NO INVOICE NO NOTHING! I said sooo if I have the same problem I can just come back and you'll fix it right? He said yea just come back.... ONE WEEK LATER. Rolled window all the way down and won't go back up! Called Dovlet, told him, he said "ohh now that might be the regulator that's gonna cost $480-$500" RIDICULOUS. If i come in and PAY for something to get repaired and it fails again after 1 week, I expect the mechanic to repair it at NO CHARGE. DO NOT COME HERE, IF YOU DO, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING

There was an exhaust smell coming through the cabin vents when the car is idle. Brian helped us jack up the car and actually showed us the exact spot where the front exhaust bellow cracked. He told us that he might be able to weld it but there isn't a guarantee it will be fixed 100%. He also told us he's seen the exact same problem a few years ago with the same car. He told us there is a recall on the front exhaust for this type of car. He suggested to call the dealership to see if the recall is still active. It would be $3000 to replace the whole thing for it to be 100% fixed. I am so glad he told us about the recall. It was actually an extended warranty for that exact factory defect. My car is being fixed now and Brian saved us $3000. There was also the cutest dog at Auto Saver. Brian told us he found him in a trash can two weeks before. He saved a dog's life and gave him a happy one. Brian is honest , friendly , knowledgeable and a kind soul. I will definitely come back here whenever my car has any trouble.

They prey upon those without automotive knowledge. Especially women and the elderly…read more Beware that the good reviews are mostly due to the previous owners. This new ownership is absolutely terrible and has sent our mental health down the drain dealing with their negligence. What was supposed to be a straight forward timing belt replacement, has turned into them lying to us and holding onto our car for over a month now. Not only will they not respond to calls, but they have lied saying "they needed a tool" and we have not heard from them since. They charged thousands for someone that should have been completed in a week and are not taking any accountability. We are now seeking legal advice because this has gotten out of hand and has caused us to rent vehicles, coming even more out of pocket. And the old owner has admitted that the crew made the car issues even worse than they were. If you care about your car, do not take it here. It's a bit further away but Burrogh & Sons in El Sobrante is much better and honest with their customers.

I call this shop, and the response was immediate despite the parking lot being packed when I got my car towed here. Don gave me his contact info and began to update me on a daily basis of the current progress towards finding out the what main issue was. I was eager to get my car back but there was more than one problem, as I had been driving with my check engine light on for a few thousand miles after driving past 100k miles. Huge mistake on my part. But nonetheless, within a few days, Don was finally able to find the solution and get everything fixed. It was a rather delayed timing for maintenance on my end, but the result was spectacular, as Don was able to offer me a competitive price point for the parts and labor fees that you can't really find anywhere else. I was absolutely mindblown. When you come here, do keep in mind that Don isn't the best English speaker and I'm not saying that that is a bad thing, but communication will have to be made in a very clear manner. Prodiving even with pictures of specific parts and brands did help tremendously, speaking from experience. I am most definitely coming back, as I am looking forward to getting new brakes, changing the transmission fluid, and much more done in the near future!

The owner told me that my front tires needed to be replaced as they were worn down, which I agreed to. However, once I picked up my car, I barely drove a minute out, and the lugnuts start loosening, and my wheel is off my car. If I was on the freeway, this would've been a way worse situation, thank god I was only on the streets. His team did come out to fix it after I called, which I was appreciative of. However, fast forward to today, I go to a different auto repair shop for two new rear tires, for them to show me that the tires I got at Advance Auto Repair for the front two tires were already worn down...that shouldn't be happening. I also found out that the team here missed putting in a stud, and that they actually overtightened two lugnuts on my left driver tire..nice! Basically meaning if this shop I went to today were to remove it, the studs inside those two overtightened lugnuts would most likely snap. So in all, going to advance auto repair not only caused even more stress, but now I have to fix even more for what they caused.

Mr. Lim (his first name is Hour) was friendly and quick. The smog check only took 15 minutes (there's a Starbucks a block away, and we were only there for about 5 minutes). My wife was only charged $60 (Smog Inspection: $51.75; Smog Certificate: $8.25). The hours are solid: Mon-Sat 8 a.m.-6 p.m. A geek suddenly drove in (I rolled my eyes when he sat by me at Starbucks). I was worried that we would be stalled because of him, but Mr. Lim made my wife the priority. The car shop is messy (only the little shrine in the back looks neat). My wife and I also didn't like when Mr. Lim was on his phone (it was just awkward when it was time to pay). I have to mention Pacific Lee Auto (it's right across from Lim Express Tune & Brakes). Mike brought us to Mr. Lim after checking the car to see if it would pass a smog test. He also checked the oil for free. I have to thank Andrew from Union City Smog Check too. He was more than helpful and patient when my wife kept trying to get her car smogged there (we both feel bad that he didn't get our business). With a few exceptions, reviewers have had positive experiences when going here for repairs. Be careful while driving in. The area is very congested (at least 4 auto body shops are in the small area).
