I saw Dr. Rhodes yesterday for a physical since it had been years since my last one. I didn't go in with any specific issues, I just like to make sure everything is good once in a while. It was my first time seeing Dr. Rhodes and I thought she was great! She was very friendly and personable and I felt comfortable talking to her about personal topics. The exam room was very clean. They have a lab on location which makes this location very convenient. I always hated those doctors offices where they referred you to another lab, such as LabCorp. Maryland Primary Care is a one stop shop. I even had a quick eye exam. The lady who took my vitals and obtained my basic information (I think it was Ms. Kathy) was extremely friendly! I see many negative comments concerning the front desk staff but I had no issues. A day or two after making my appointment, my work schedule changed. I called back and was able to move my appointment without an issue. The lady who scheduled my appointment directed me to all of the new patient paperwork online. I am glad I did it ahead of time. She provided me with all of the information I needed for my first appointment, told me what to bring and advised their arrival procedures for Covid. My husband is also a patient of Dr. Ashbeck who he loves. He was experiencing symptoms for many years and finally saw Dr. Ashbeck who had the knowledge and experience to diagnose him properly. I believe he also saw Dr. Zarzuela a short time ago last minute. He had no complaints and liked him as well. Overall, my appointment went well from start to finish. They may need to pay a little attention to the restrooms to keep them fresh and tidy but that is my only complaint. They are in a convenient location with plenty of parking. If in need of a primary care doctor, this is definitely a quality option. read more

Dr Chite is very detailed in his examinations and explanations to the patient. However, I am not pleased that MPCP has taken on Lab Corp. to help with their testing. If it wasn't for Dr Chite, I wouldn't stay there. Lab corp. has too many billing problems and it takes way to long to recover your money or get them off your back when you are in the right. read more

I have been going here for 2 years. My doctor left and I was assigned to PA Sharon Hill. I saw her for a sudden acute illness related to heat exhaustion. I requested a Lyme test and blood work rk to compare to recent blood work because of my sudden decline in health. She appeared to concur, but when I showed up to the appointment, she had not submitted the request, just the Lyme test. When confronted about it, she literally refused, saying "we can't do the blood work because you've had blood work" ignoring the conversation we had the day before, and ran away. She didn't have a clue that my kidneys may be damaged from the heat exhaustion, didn't request the urine sample I asked for. Or anything. The fact is, regardless of whether my insurance will pay for it, I am a concerned patient and I asked to be tested and she refused. I have never been treated by such a callous and clueless person in my life and I will not be returning to a place that has people with such a lack of general understanding. The entire time I was there, I was leading the interview. Coaxing her along, telling her my temperature and blood pressure readings, telling about sudden weight loss, change in urine, etc. She asked nothing. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Tracey Jansen for over 10 years and would highly recommend her. Always takes the time to listen to any problems or questions I have. I never feel rushed. Do not see Abby Davis, CRNP if you want medical attention. After a week battle at home with sinusitis and taking all the over the counter medications that one could. I broke down and decided to call the doctor for additional help as I could tell I need more than just over the counter meds. My regular doctor was on vacation so the next available person was Abby Davis. I have never been as dis-missed in all my life by someone in the medical field as I was with her. I told her I had green and yellow discharge coming from my nose and throat and I could barely speak due to a very sore throat. I was already taking day / night quill, Flonase, using my Neti-pot once a day, Advil, nose spray and throat spray and cough drops. I know my body, as I am sure most everyone does. I knew I needed antibiotics now to help me as the over the counter meds were not working. In the past, my regular doctor would give them to me and within a few days, I am on the road to recovery. Well Abby Davis says people are getting antibiotics too easily and they need to wait longer to make sure their symptoms are bad enough to need antibiotics. She said I would have to wait 10 to 15 days to see what my symptoms do and if they do not get better than she would prescribe them to me. Therefore, I said I need to suffer another week just for you to know what I already know today.....why do I need to suffer longer? She said keep doing what I am doing, increase the neti-pot to twice a day and call her back in a week if I do not get better and she will call in my antibiotic RX. So the summary of my story is I went to the doctor for help and got nothing besides travel time (gas cost), stressed out and paying a co-pay. What kind of service did she provide me, nothing? Would I see her again, absolutely NOT! I hope she does not treat all her patients like this. I been going to this practice for over 28 years and I miss Dr. Dailey so much as she was the BOMB and I wish her all the best in her retirement. FYI....the next day I went to URGENT care and received treatment with antibiotics no problem. I was in and out in 20 minutes and I am feeling better already. Why be a doctors office if you are only going to see healthy people. It took days to get an appointment and then it was canceled on me. Will definitely be changing my business elsewhere! read more

I went today just for BLOOD WORK. Had a 9AM appointment..... but still, after asking at check in if they were running on time..... I waited 30 minutes to be seen!!!! That is crazy. Not ON TIME to me! So why not be up front with folks checking in for "just bloodwork". I head them say it to others, for bloodwork, that someone would be "right out" for them. NOT TRUE. Then the girl who got me finally, was NOT friendly at all. I will not go back for "just" a bloodwork appointment again. I would rather go to lab corp or safeway, etc.... much more on the ball at those places. I've also had issues waiting in exam rooms in the past. Actually being forgotten once for almost an hour. Really keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt, but think once I see my doctor about this blood work in a few weeks, I will be done. I have to admit, I didn't think I was going to like this place much based on my appointment-making experience over the phone. I called to set up an appointment as a new patient, and the person on the phone sounded annoyed at me for not knowing the process of that (they have to call and verify the insurance before you can make an appointment). I never got a call back, either, letting me know if everything was fine so I could make the appointment either, I had to call THEM and see what was up. Nevertheless, I made an appointment at a time that was convenient for me and not too far into the future, which was fine. My actual experience at the place was good. I went on a Friday afternoon and waited in the waiting room for barely 5 minutes. The reception people were pretty nice as well. I didn't have to wait long for the Dr to come in either, which is a plus, and the whole thing went by pretty quickly. The Dr was super friendly as well as the lab women, and I got my letter with the results of my blood work in the mail within a couple days. Pretty good experience altogether. read more

Front desk staff varies widely in competence and customer service. Some are great, many are pretty terrible. Biggest complaint is that they refused to refill my OCP prescription without performing a pelvic exam, despite the fact that I had a pelvic exam performed just the year before. This is NOT backed by medical guidleines. "Data do not support the necessity of performing a pelvic or breast examination to prescribe oral contraceptive medications." Quote from AAFP - https://www.aafp.org/patient-care/clinical-recommendations/all/cw-oral-contraceptives.html I brought these recommendations up with the provider who was seeing me, and she still would not budge. She was nice enough about it I guess, but could not tell me why it was medically necessary for me to have a pelvic exam and just reiterated that it was the practice's policy. I needed a new prescription and honestly felt coerced into having a pelvic exam, although I didn't and still don't understand what about this was medically indicated. Idk if this is so they can make more money by doing extra exams or if they just aren't up to date on the medical literature, but I was infuriated then and am still obviously infuriated now as I am writing this review 4 years after that appointment. I asked for a widely prescribed medication and she said no before I could even explain why I requested it. Shes been generally unhelpful the 3 years I've been seeing her. Wow if I could give a negative star I would but 1 is the lowest allowed. So my primary care physician transferred to this practice and I called to make an appointment and fill a prescription. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked for the supervisor- she was not much better - and completely dismissive that her staff was unpleasant and difficult. I will miss my physician- she was great - but I would never trust my healthcare with a firm who hires these individuals or operates their office without care or concern for their patients. My mother was told by the receptionist over the phone that she had COVID even though she was not presenting any of the symptoms. She was scheduled to see a COVID specialist who told her she was in sepsis, was forced to call for an ambulance. Paramedics confirmed that she was misdiagnosed with that as well. Your receptionist probably shouldn't be making any medical judgement calls and it would be nice if the doctors would do something more than call for an ambulance. read more

I've been with MPCP for over 25 years. Both at the Glen Burnie and then Pasadena locations. I've also worked for them in the past before being disabled. I was about to give up on the group when I moved to Pasadena and started seeing a NP with whom I worked with at a different physicians office. When she left I was juggled to another and then another until finally getting my very own PCP. Since turnover rate was/is quite high there I didn't expect much and didn't get too comfortable with my new PCP. However, after a few months of exclusively seeing the same doctor. I gave him my full respect and put my trust and health in his hand. This was a few years ago and boy, am I glad I waited and didn't give up! My PCP is the absolute best there is IMO anyway)!! I recommend him to everyone and know they are in capable hands with him as their physician. Dr. Chite is the nicest, kindest and most caring doctor I think I have ever met. He takes time to answer every question you have and makes sure you understand fully before you leave the office or gives you the info and or websites to help educate you about your conditions. He is laid back when there is a time to be, but not so serious that he is stuffy and uptight. He follows up on visits by calling himself or staff call and him jump in to have a few words of support. He always makes time for his patients and always keeps track of your lab work, radiology, specialist visits and consultations. You are never just a "Number" with him and I used to work in doctors offices and hospital settings so I've seen and worked with a lot of doctors and Dr. Chite is an amazing physician that truly cares about his patients. read more

I called to make an appointment to get work papers signed off on and the lady was so rude on the phone. It's not the first time I've had "Mary". She was short and acted like I was bothering her. When asked if there was any other available appointments she was snappy and said no. There are components of this practice that are great and there are components that are frustrating. On the positive, all of the associates at the front are super friendly. I rarely have an issue scheduling appointments and I do believe that the majority of their providers care. On the other side of the coin, I've waited in the exam room for 50 minutes without being acknowledged. While I was attempting to leave and the friendly front office associate was apologizing for the mishap, the nurse ran after me and asked what I was doing and followed up with, "the doctor is waiting for you in your room." She was clearly annoyed with me that I had the audacity to attempt to leave my appointment after being left in a room with zero contact for 50 minutes. The doctor was waiting on ME! Yeah. Ok lady. Honestly, if one person would have poked their head in the room and simply said, "So sorry, the doctor is hung up with another patient, but you're next," I wouldn't be writing this review. I'm a relatively new patron of this practice so whether or not our family goes back is largely dependent on how well our next visit goes. I called to get a follow up appointment. I explained both ankles were still swollen and I had been diagnosed with having fluid retention (the appointments person didn't understand what that was. She (Reagan) put me on hold twice for a good amount of time and came back and asked me If I had seen an orthopedic doctor. When I called the office to inquire, I was told I was discharged as a patient for a past due balance of $35. I was told I cannot get the life saving medication I needed until the overdue balance was paid in full, reviewed by the office manager for re-inststement, and then put back into their system. While I love my Doctor (Cowart), I have to have lab work done and that is where it falls short. I don't like the urine collection process since I know other places have a "hat" toilet insert you can use. Next having blood drawn. I had a very young lady put the needle in and when she finished drawing blood she left it to tangle, move abruptly due to gravity and hurt me due to needle hitting the inside of my vein. I find that unacceptable. And she said to me "Don't move." While it was gravity that moved everything when she let go! read more

My provider Dr. Chamliss is very intelligent, kind and very understanding she has helped my navigate through alot. Have been going to MD Primary Care for 15+ years and recently went to see my primary care for a routine physical. The doctor was with me for less than 15 mins and gave me my yearly prescription as she has in the past. I receive a bill today for a 15 min office visit. I contacted the billing department and they advised me they billed BCBS not only for a physical but also a 15 min office visit because she provided me with a prescription. THIS is why healthcare continues to decline and prices continue to rise. Sounds like Double Dipping to me!!! Needless this to say I will be looking for a new doctor. read more

My treating doctor at the practice went on a 3 week vacation. I called for follow up care and the doctor in charge of the practice refused see me or provide support for my care for my exacerbated chronic spine condition. My entire visit on Sept 26th was a big downer! No greeting, just a given a bunch of new forms to fill out. Wasn't given enough time to complete the forms before getting called back. Again no greeting or introduction before taking weight and temperature. Upon entering exam room, the covering for the table was not changed out and attendant had to change it. I was seen by Sarah Sullivan who asked my why I was there, then shined a light in my eyes then prescribed me eye drops. That's it! I reminder her that I also wanted to have my thyroid checked and without any compassion or concern simple said I would get blood drawn for that. She asked if I wanted a flu shot and when I accepted she said OK and walked out. Really ???? I wasn't sure what I was suppose to do? wait for her to come back? go out to another area? I waited about 15 minutes and a young girl came in to give me my shot. She asked me to drop the sleeve on my left shoulder and gave me the shot then walked out of the room! whaaaat??? I asked before she closed the door "can I get a bandage?" and she came back in and put a bandage on it. WOW. Then I go down the hall to get my blood drawn and when he attendant asked 'who' I saw to order the test, I mistakenly said Sarah Sanders (not Sulilvan). There was a young attendant sitting there writing something and she sneered about the mistake, to make me feel stupid. So unprofessional and rude. When it was time to check out I stood underneath the check out sign in front of an empty chair and waited a few minutes until finally the attendant sitting down further was 'good and ready', looked up to ask me to step down to her to check me out. What an ordeal this was. Not sure why the entire office was miserable and taking there frustrations out on the patients. We pay too much for healthcare to be treated like this! I look forward to the day that we have robots take care of our medical needs. They would have a warmer disposition than what I experienced! lol. Time to look for another place for a doctor. These people here are ridiculous, lazy, uninformed, horrible employees. I have had to do their job for them regarding my insurance company and remind them on very important things to don in order to get my prescriptions through prior authorizations and dealing with the insurance company. They have made my life so much harder than what it needs to be. It has been over a month of problems, lies, misunderstanding, lack of communication, you name it and I've dealt with it. I have never in my life, had to literally tell people how to do their job until I came to this doctor's office. I'm a type 1 diabetic and my life depends on these people and they have done nothing right. My life depends on if they do their job correctly, which they don't. I have had ton use other people's medication to survive. They are clueless and have too many patients to give a shit about me. Once they fix their mistakes I am gone. This patient care provider does not care about their patients in my opinion. They care about money! I will explain why we have come to this decision. My husband has been a patient at this location for at least five years, probably longer and was seen by a nurse practitioner. Around a year or ago she left the practice. He started seeing another doctor and was not impressed. This is still hard to believe for us but last week they sent us a letter stating that we owed them $50 and that after thirty days of receiving the letter that he was no longer welcome to any Maryland Primary locations. They said that they had sent a notice of this debt and has not heard from him so therefor he needed to find another doctor. This is not something that we were aware of and should not be the case because if you don't pay your copay they do not see you...period. This to me tell me that patients to them are disposable because they have other patients waiting. Take this for what you will but believe it or not, it's the truth!! read more

Horrible place! AVOID!!!! Recently moved to the area, but I definitely didn't move to an undeveloped nation and that's what I felt like when I sought to establish a relationship with a local physician. This place was atrocious. The front desk was helpful, but the medical assistant basic stuck A thermometer in my mouth, BP cuff on, and pulse ox on my finger without saying so much as hello or verifying identity. The seat was still warm from the last person. She asked how often I exercised, and I told her every day. In a high-pitched, doubting voice she said "really every day?". (Really you are going to question me?). I told her "yes I walk the dogs every day". But I was taken aback.... not used to being insulted when I go for my annual physical. And let me just say the medical care went downhill from there. The nurse practitioner had her hair pulled so tight her eyes would be in back of her head. Got to admit the hair did fit that high strung, rigid, nurse Kratchit personality. Definitely not someone who should be talking to people. She said she couldn't refill my prescription for high chloresterol (not a controlled substance!) because I was five minutes late and she didn't have time. I promptly got the hell out and found a new physician at a real practice. Md primary care had the nerve to send me a note that I couldn't be their patient. Hello, I walked out because you people scare the hell out of me! Anyone going there for medical care should get a psychiatric evaluation included for free. Avoid at all costs. read more

Appointments have been on time and phone calls are returned quickly. No issues with insurance coverage or claim filing. Able to schedule same-day appointments for illness.
