I have been having anxiety issues for over a year. My insurance company referred me to Ann-Marie…read morebecause she has a doctorate in the specific anxiety that I am suffering from. I appreciated Ann-Marie's doctorate, EMDR, and advice. I thought she was a great counselor until last Friday, when she ghosted me. We had an appointment scheduled, and I discovered that she dropped me as a client without any notification. No email or message to explain why. I contacted Rula (the company that set us up), and was told in an email, "According to their note, the decision was based on a mismatch in specialization, and they recommended a rematch to ensure you receive the best possible care." If she was so concerned about my care, she should've sent me a message telling me that she was dropping me as a client, why she was doing so, and wishing me luck. Ghosting me the way she did was very unprofessional and hurtful.

5 Stars for an incredibly thoughtful and welcoming psychology practice…read more Some people choose to spend their money and time on spas when they need to de-stress. I tend to view seeing a psychologist as a valuable part of my health routine, particularly when I'm needing to focus on finding balance. In other words, it's like a tuneup for my mind and soul. I've been going to Dr. Jennings for over 7 years now (on and off). He is an incredible thoughtful, smart, and empathetic doctor. He also happens to be a tenured professor of psychology at Valencia- something that adds to the sessions because he can pull from so many different thought leaders (current and past) and explain their theories in a very palatable way. The offices are in a two story building right by the Sunrail station in Altamonte Springs and consist of a few serene rooms which are occasionally used by other therapists. I appreciate that there is always soft music playing in the waiting area so that you can't hear anyone else's sessions. It was a friend of mine who first recommended Dr. Jennings and since then I've referred many others to his practice. In the end, the choice of a psychologist is a very personal one that can be influenced by any number of small factors, not least of which is how you personally "mesh" with the psychologist's style. Regardless though, you need someone who is qualified and understands his discipline. I happen to have found a great one and felt compelled to share the wealth!
