Mary Shortle is a doll shop which is a bit dated and shabby looking now! The dolls are nice proper kind of old fashioned ones, like porcelain ones with nice clothes, I just dont know how many people still buy them. read more

Quite a small disney store compared to most but still stocks the more popular items. It's a shame…read morethat they do not offer click and collect, so you can order online and pick up instore, as this would make up for the lack of stock compared to the more bigger stores. Disney is always great for finding kids birthday/christmas presents, so even though they lack the ranges, I'm sure most people will find something to buy in here. The store can get a bit cramped at busy times but during the week it tends to be much quieter. There are always staff available to answer your question, should you have any, and they are very polite. Check out was quick and painless, accepting all the major credit cards. They do charge for carriers however or you can buy a reusable one for £2 (aren't all carriers reusable?!)

Nevertheless, it's still one of my absolute favourite shops in York! They do carry a reasonable range of Disney toys, along with some clothing and accessories like bags and umbrellas. It's definitely worth a look, but it's disappointing that it isn't bigger.

Prices seem ok too and I just think it's a good shop as if you know anyone who loves comics/role play/games then you are bound to find something for them here.

We want to let the uneducated know that they're not just for kids. Comics can be about love, hate, politics, religion, life, death, anything. Sometimes stereotypical and sometimes the most amazing out-there pieces of literature you will every read. We want to bring comics from subculture to mainstream because we love 'em. We see boardgames and RPGs as activities which bring people together Face to Face rather than distant online events. They are about friendship, community and good old traditional fun! We run regular gaming events at all our stores, for more details just give us a call, we'd love to tell you about them :) We want to meet other people who feel the same and people who are just curious! We are a small independent business run by some of the friendliest people you will ever meet!
