Everything a comic book lover needs is nestled in this cosy little store. Downstairs you have the latest releases (as I like to call it, the Wednesday Wall) plus back issues from some of the bigger publishers. You also have graphic novels, trades, and manga - often some of it at a discounted price. - perfect for people just getting into comics. Upstairs is like a comic museum. 50p back issues in classic cardboard boxes and even more trades to whet your whistle. This is a great place if you're looking for that one issue to complete a story arc. Back to Jared and co. The staff are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable that you could ever come across. I've been in other comic book stores around the country (and world) and very few can compare to the awesomess of the OK staff. If you're a comic book fan, get your fleshy behind to OK Comics. If your interest in comics has been piqued by recent box office smashes, then let your legs escort you to OK. Is that enough gushing? You want something negative? Ok, well, I heard that at the stroke of midnight the comics in the store come alive and contribute to 60% of the grafitti in the city centre.

In this shop, I was recommended a comic that introduced me to what now is one of my favourite comic book characters - the Scarlet Spider. Downstairs are board games and card games (Magic The Gathering etc), and they have frequent signing events - I recently met one of my favourite artists, Becky Cloonan, at a signing there. It is a total geek fest that makes me giddy when I walk through the doors. The ground floor is wall-to-wall lined with comics, graphic novels and books - with such esteemed publishers as Marvel, Dark Knight and Tokyo Pop and many more. They also have a large selection of t-shirts, for both genders, with quirky cool cartoons on, such as a fire-breathing dinosaur with stick people running away from it, or a crocodile/dragon type creature that says "Ra." The downstairs is gamesville. They have hoards and hoards of different board games for any number of different players. My absolute favourite is 'Settlers of Catan'. This is a brilliant strategy game that you can play with your friends - I'd recommend at least four players. They also have tables and seats for you to relax in and enjoy a hot drink. Finally, the staff are absolutely excellent. Once I went in to grab an add-on to a board game for that evening, we were having friends round and we all wanted to play a new version. I knew exactly which one I wanted and headed downstairs to grab it only to discover they didn't have that one in. I went to ask the guy that was working there if they had it in storage perhaps. They didn't have it, but he informed me that the manager of the shop was going to be coming back from the Newcastle branch later that day, so he said he'd ask him if he could pick one up and bring it back for me! Sure enough, he rang his manager who went and found one, and arranged for me to come and collect it a few hours later that day! They even promised to keep the shop open for an extra half hour if I couldn't be there in time. That is customer service.

TM Saved my interest in games and such…read more.. I went into the shop with a friend to try and get into gaming a little as have never really got it before. Liked it a lot in here, clean and friendly and has a much better atmosphere than the total BO fest that is Fanboy 3, a nearby store that perpetuates the stereotype that all Geeks smell. Had it not been for how nice and cool TM was, FB3 would have totally put me off and made me feel dirty even thinking about gaming.
