Discovered my internal navigation system by getting out of my own way!…read more So, I'm trying to add some perspective here... We have no problem in putting our trash in the front yard of our homes to be removed once a week; or, go to the bathroom daily (hopefully!)for the body to discard whatever is unnecessary; and, many of us, even pay a monthly fee for anti-virus protection to consistently eliminate anything that could affect our holy devices. Yet, how many of us, ever think about doing the same with the biggest and most powerful computer of them all, the roommate that lives in our head and never ceases to keep its mouth shut-- our human mind? I personally could continue, for example, spending countless hours of my life watching television, or lose count of the minutes involved in unending chitchat about nothing really that is of substance -- and, still hoping for things to change, to get better. I'm so thankful that here in North Carolina, in the city where I live (Raleigh), exists a wonderful place exists that teaches me the most beautiful and simple of methods to do the opposite of that of what I only knew: that one can never have enough of anything, that one can never be satisfied. I've chosen to INVEST minutes out of my every day to regain the infinite wisdom that has always remained there by removing, discarding, deleting all the unnecessary crap I've piled up since I've been able to form words into sentences, into thoughts. I'm done with hoping. I've decided to BE happy, unconditionally happy....and, the only one who could prevent me from doing that is myself.

I was looking for place with yoga for a while, but has several specific things I was looking for. I…read moredon't like hot yoga, don't want to pay a fortune, don't want to drive across the triangle, and I'm pretty inexperienced/generally out of shape. So I'm providing a tall order. After doing some research, I found Bright Tree Yoga. They fit all the above requirements and had great reviews. I purchased a several class pack, and after just one class, I feel so good about my decision. The instructor was welcoming and offered great modifications to fit a diverse class. The class size was small, which I loved. I left feeling calmer and challenged in strength and balance - perfect for me! A few notes - not necessarily bad - just things I was surprised by. It's in a karate studio, so you're constantly staring at yourself in a mirror. I liked that for checking alignment, but also feel like it made people (me) more self-conscious and prone to compare, which isn't great for yoga. Also, the instructor didn't do yoga with us, which is totally fine. She led the class expertly, just something I've never experienced in a class before. I'll definitely be back to finish out my purchase package of classes, and probably even beyond that. Grateful to know about Bright Tree!
