Dr. Toft is the most fabulous MD my husband and I have ever had. I can't recall when, but many many years ago we went looking for a doctor in town. In each case I had the medical office fax me the curriculum vitae (resume) so I could make an intelligent decision. The moment I saw that she had been Chief Resident at Huntington Hospital, I knew this was the person we wanted. So we tracked her down to an HMO and became PPO clients there. When she left and went into her own private practice, our insurance didn't have the right whatever, so we regretfully lost her services. But we kept an eye on things and periodically called back to see if her office handled our insurance. The moment we found it did, we were back on her list of clients lickety-split. We love the fact that she's actually an internist (we personally think that's a better alternative for adults v. seeing a GP family doctor) and can herself handle so many types of conditions. Although she is a "traditional" doctor, she is quite educated about organic issues and alternative medicine in terms of supplement matters, She has a busy practice but no matter how many patients she has to see, she always takes the time to answer our questions and we leave feeling that she was actually listening to us. And because she does this for all of her patients, we know going in that we might have to wait a while, but we don't mind because we know it's simply the result of her trying to take the best care of all of her patients. Additionally, and although it's not a cheap thing to pursue, she offers an extensive list of "cosmetic" services that can really help rejuvenate the way you look (not a bad thing if you experience stress in your life or are over 40). Overall, we absolutely love Dr. Toft and wouldn't see any other doctor if it's within our power. read more

Dr. Toft, aka., Dr. McCoy. First of all, let me say, I really like the doctor and staff at this office. My first visit was for a physical and labs to be done. My husband and I came in together, and although we arrived a little earlier then our appointment, we had paperwork to fill out. We were taken into one of the patient rooms after everything was filled out and our insurance verified (I assume). We then waited about an hour before we saw the doctor. I'm not sure why, since it looked like there was only one other patient. I'm not really a big fan of waiting all day to be seen by the doctor, and although it's annoying I do understand that patients are usually seen in order or time needs to be spent with them a little longer then normal because of things that might be going on with them. Though, I'll agree with other reviewers, she is by far, the longest wait time I have ever had seeing a doctor. That being said, when it was our turn, she was thorough and address every problem, concern or question I had. I think she is very knowledgeable and I felt well taken care of by her. She sent my husband and I out for labs (blood and urine) and we made an appointment to come back and follow up with her for our results. My labs had to be redone a few days later, due to their results. :( This time I had to fast. I had been told a few years ago that I had a kidney stone, by a different provider. This wasn't so. It turns out I have gallstones, YAY! The symptoms that I told her about and the results I had (she sent me out for ultrasound and some other tests), confirmed her diagnosis. Thanks to her, I'm on my way to getting it taken care of. The front desk is also helpful, they write up my labs or referrals. Oh one more thing. They wanted us to get tetanus shots, but didn't offer them in their office. We have to pay $65 each to have them done at CVS, since our prescriptions benefit doesn't cover them. This is the first doctor's office I've ever been to that doesn't offer this medicine. I took off one star for her long wait times, and one star for not offering the medicine I think they should have had. I'll be going back in this may for a pre-op appointment, they are supposed to do an EKG on me or something. I'll see if anything has changed since I last say her in February/March. read more

It took me 4 months to get my appointment with her on Aug. 8th. I sat in the lobby for over one hour and then was moved to her freezing examination room for yet another hour. She finally came in and announced that she was behind because of an infected foot. She was very disheveled and appeared to be on drugs. She should have stayed home instead of putting her patients through having to wait 2 hours to see her and get such poor service. She spent less than 4 minutes with me. (3 minutes and 45 seconds to be exact. I timed it). She briefly spewed out the results of the dozens of tests she sent me to and only if I asked her about them. What about my blood work? What about my pelvic scan, etc. She didn't seem to be very interested in giving me the results of anything. She said I needed a Dex scan because I hadn't had one since 2016. This is incorrect. I just had one in April of this year but she had no record of that one either. Is it my responsibility to contact Renaissance Imaging to make sure that the doctor get my results? It seems to me it would be the doctors respon- sibility to follow up on the slew of tests, scans and ultrasounds they are ordering for me and do their job to tell me what the results were. So after 3 minutes and 3 minutes and 45 seconds she left me to "check on the records" and she never came back. I didn't get a chance to tell her that I have a serious melanoma looking sore that won't heal on my chest and the fact that my thyroid glands are very swollen. And the fact that I feel like a tumor in my ovary that feels like its pressing on my bladder that causes me to urinate CONSTANTLY. I watched my mother die of ovarian cancer and I have all the symptoms and I am scared to death. I told her of my symptoms and she was in such a hurry she was clearly not interested and even seemed annoyed with me. She mentioned as she was walking out the door that she was going to refer me to City of Hope. I know it will take me 2 mos. at least to get that referral and probably another 3-4 mos. to get the appointment at City of Hope. I will prob- ably be dead by then. When I call to get an appointment I am on hold for at least 20 min. and takes me MONTHS to get an appointment, Then more months for the referrals then you make the appointment with the referred specialist and that takes several more months to get THAT appointment. We are talking a minimum of 6-8 mos. just to see a doctor to get diagnosed. Then tests are ordered that never make it to the doctor's office and if they do they don't give you the results. On a positive note, the horrific treatment I have gotten from "Doctor" McCoy and the rude and unprofessional staff there, I have decided to become an advocate for senior citizen's rights. I pray that you will never be treated like this. It's humiliating, depressing, stressful, dangerous and down- right cruel. One should not go to a doctor then fear for their life. read more

I had just recently visited her for the first time.. and let me tell you, WORST bed side manner ever. She has no sympathy for the people that she gives bad news to. I had to ask for my options about my problem, rather then her explaining to me what my next move could be. It was almost as if she was just reading off a paper and that was it. She never once asked if I had any questions. Not to mention that her appointments always run late. Each time I went in there I was waiting an extra 15-20 min past my appointment time. And every time you try to call the office it goes to voicemail, because no one picks up. You have to call about 5 times before you get someone to pick up. They are there behind the desk, they would just rather talk to each other then pick up the phone. I would recommend you not waste your time here and go to another doctor. read more

I have gone to Dr. Toft for so many years that I don't even know how many...An internist is the type of doctor that can focus on all your medical needs and Dr. Toft is the BEST! She listens to all of your concerns and applies her vast array of knowledge in finding a solution...She will take the time with you that most other doctors won't...Another plus is that she will suggest a vitamin remedy first or lifestyle change before jumping into prescription drugs...Her staff will work with you if u need to get a quick appointment for the same day or the next...I would never go to any other doctor... read more

Went to this doctor for my first visit. She was recommended by my primary physician. After filling out a huge amount of paperwork I waited an hour and a half. That was enough. I will never wait that long again for any doctor in the AV. I left and informed the staff that I wouldn't be back. My time is valuable to me too. read more

The staff member I talked to was rude so I cancelled my appointment. I'm a breast cancer survivor so I wanted a Pap smear especially since it's been a couple of years since I had one. I was told there would not be time and even if we re-scheduled there would still not be time for a pap on the first visit. I asked if I could have a second appointment on the same day since Toft's office is an hour away from my home and 2 appointments = 4 hours of driving, but no go. I will have to get another doctor. Is all this just about getting 2 co-pays? I would have been happy to re-schedule. read more

I was a pt many years ago and had to leave due to a change in insurance, eve then she was ALWAYS running late, but she was amazing so it was worth it. Have been going back for last 2 years and am thoroughly disappointed. Not only is she usually an hour to 90 mins late, but her staff is rude and unprofessional. We leave messages to schedule or change appointments and not only do not get a call back, but when brought to their attention, they simply say "OK" no apology, no offer of explanation, just a heavy sigh and "OK." They also cannot keep track of their billing and have sent letters threatening to send us to collections for errors on their part and we bring in the receipts to prove we paid our co pay, it takes them months to fix the problem and again, they never return their calls or apologize. Honestly, this will be our last visit if we keep the appointment at all at this point. Bottom line, find somewhere else to go. read more

Horrible place!!I've been getting billed every month!I have insurance and they haven't even tried to contact them. I've called my insurance company and they have no records of this office on file at all. The reviewer above me is right about the wait times, as well as the odd office hours making reaching staff problematic. On that matter though, getting through may not mean good news either, as what did it for me was the rude and patronizing male assistant. I consider it morally wrong to pay for bad service, so I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more
