In fact, during my procedure we talked about how long he's been in business and a little about his history in the army. The operation itself went great. He did surgery on me and I felt he handled everything with care. He walked me through everything before the operation, asked if I had any questions, which I did, and he answered all of them. The atmosphere, level of privacy, location, cleanliness, customer service, and the operation, were all a solid 10/10 experience for me personally. I noticed a water fountain and drank some water but could taste a little bit of the chlorine so I asked for a bottled water and they happily gave me one. Staff wished me a happy weekend and easy recovery on my way out and I'm scheduled for a follow up in 2 weeks. If I remember I'll try to update this review but so far so good! 44 yrs, Male

For two years I have dealt with the diagnosis and aftermath of an aggressive form of prostate…read morecancer. A radical prostatectomy did not extract all of the cancer as it had spread into my bladder neck. Radiation treatments designed to attack the remaining cancer did significant damage to my ureters, resulting in repeated infection, kidney disease and radiation cystitis. After 5 hospitalizations in 5 months, I was referred to Dr. Djaladat at USC. In March of this year, Dr. Djaladat performed reconstructive surgery, opening the way to much more normal kidney and bladder function. While it is too soon to assess the long-term success of this procedure, there is no way I could ask for better care. Whether in person or (in this age of COVID-19) virtually, Dr. Djaladat and his staff demonstrate the utmost care. For a surgeon of his stature to take the time to genuinely listen and explain everything that is happening in my body, I find that exceptional. Though he is only in Bakersfield once/monthly, his Bakersfield staff provides up to date information and the same exceptional care. Finally, I'm one who deals with a certain anxiety when it comes to the cancer diagnosis and all that has accompanied that diagnosis. At Keck USC/Bakersfield I have found care providers who are tremendously gifted at putting those anxieties to rest... at least for the time I am under their care. After the appointment, my father was so upset that he came directly to my home to tell me he wanted to change providers and would never return. I immediately transferred his care to another provider, who treated him with the kindness and respect he deserved. When a patient is sharing something as serious as a cancer diagnosis, compassion and empathy are essential. Unfortunately, this was not our experience here, and I would not recommend this provider.

He couldn't have been less personable, void of any personality and bedside manner, and appeared to be in a rush to leave (we were waiting days for his consult). He spent about 3 min with us, which would have been about 30seconds if we didn't begin asking him questions, and his advice was "see a doctor after you get discharged'. Really? He never offered a gameplan, he lied on the consult about 'discussing findings' (he didn't discuss anything, he basically just said 'go see a doctor'). He also had misinformation in the consult that we disputed in which the hospitalist agreed with our dispute. There seems to be a trend of him getting things wrong according to the reviews, and he seems to have a bias towards disabled patients. He never offered to schedule us post-discharge and kept trying to pass the buck to find another doctor. Hopefully you aren't as unlucky to get stuck with this guy. We've dealt with many specialists and he was among the absolute worst. Hospitalist helped us get in touch with a new specialist and already have next steps planned for a procedure which he said he recommends we get done, something Dr. Youngstrom didn't even discuss. Dr. Youngstrom, I feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck with your ass. We're lucky as hell we didn't get stuck with you.
