Fast forward 15 years after my wedding, my father (Daddy-O) who walked me down the wedding aisle passed away suddenly. She was extremely helpful, down to earth and just sort of got it. She makes modern wedding videos that don't go on for hours, and finds the most touching, poignant moments. Truth be told: I was not 100% sold on a wedding video, but my mom (a psycho-therapist) told me it was a good idea for years to come of how we felt on that day. I'm very glad we did do the video because it captures the day's emotions in a totally different way than still photography and with all the excitement of the day, its hard to remember every detail (or impossible otherwise to see different perspectives).... and our wedding was only a few months ago! I came to Dr Arayeh struggling with parenting one 6 year old son, and a poor relationship with his father. Needs were unmet, proper communication was lacking and we were all in a regular cycle of abusive words and thoughts. Throughout 6 sessions of 1 hour, valuable information regarding the fight flight brain, childrens needs, concious communication, mindful breathing, Pause method and stages of change, were shared via the phone videos and texts. All very important information to help love and nurture children (all humans really) and helped my sons dad and I see and tend to our child in more supportive ways. I'd absolutely reccomend taking sessions to improve parenting/relationships, I tell my friends and family how valuable Dr Arayehs info is and encourage them to invest in themselves. Carla doesn't just fix grammar or spelling errors but does a lot more. * Scoping * Helps you identify sentences to rephrase for better comprehension * Brings conciseness but elaborates sections that need more focus to strengthen overall paper * restructuring of chapters or arguments * Suggests connective tissue between various sections of thesis to improve flow * Spelling and Grammar * She's super fast, extremely honest with her time (Rush turn around, pre-negotiated based on schedule, but she is generous and hardworking). * Citation checks (super tedious but they are very picky correct format) These are just some of the things she provided, but essentially she worked with me and helped me focus on what needed to be done. NPS theses are tough (we are not given the time like other academic institutions to concentrate on them) and my thesis adviser had high expectations. Carla helped me meet those expectations and she was worth every single penny. She's also super genuine, affable, and a communicator.
