We were literally shoulder to shoulder inside the studio as well as in the breezeway where they had primary painting of the pumpkins, and drying and clear coating stations. I mean, it was crazy packed. However, had it been a paid event, we probably would have gone anyway because our daughter is a huge art nut. Aside from the crowd, we had a great time. It's a small painting studio but it appears to have all you would need for any painting project. They've got a decent sized staff on hand for tips and help, as well. It's located right on South Florida just South of the heart of downtown. Loads of parking in the back, too. It's a cute place. We look forward to going again sometime soon!

Spent a day creating my first mosaic piece at Breakables. I was pleased with the final product…read more They have a wide array of tiles and pieces, provide the glue, the item to receive the tile pieces and good space to work (little heat on cold days). It's nice it's next to a tea store so you can sip while you work. I thought I'd be finished in an hour but we were there over 3. Initially I thought the prices were high, starting at about $32 for smaller sized things, but after seeing the work, time and tiles involved, it's more than fair. I would have liked for it to be staffed with a helpful person with tiling experience, but the clerk from Picasso's ceramic painting café ran back and forth checking on us and couldn't have been nicer. We were largely on our own, after a brief demo on how to cut tiles. (Needy people and children will perhaps not like the set-up/independence required.) They send you home with a bag of grout to finish it 24 hours after the glue sets. Inventory for tile boards was scant. The finished models showed you what finished products looked like but were not available to make. They had some mosaics on Lucite and had an area for making candles. It was a good first experience. I love the whole artist enclave vibe of the strip of stores here.

Each has the prices labeled on the bottom. You choose one, take a seat, choose your paints, and then spend several hours absorbed into art! It takes awhile because you have to do multiple layers of paint to make the colors show up properly. This place is neat because it's connected to a little cafe. They have an iPad at the connecting doorway so you can order drinks or snacks delivered while you work. We didn't know about that so we didn't do much with it this time but we definitely would in the future!

Come to PicassoZ to channel your inner picasso! (or Van Gogh, as is my preference)…read more Pottery painting is a really enjoyable activity that's pretty appropriate for most ages. I've even seen parents come in, paint their kids' hand and then print it on the ceramic which is a super cute idea. There are so many pottery varieties to choose from you need like 5-10 minutes just to walk around and gauge options. The prices should be written on the bottom of each piece. It's not cheap to go to any pottery painting place so keep that in mind- once you pick out the piece and paint it how you want, they glaze and fire it for you so you're paying for the whole service beyond just painting. You can also create a mosaic which is a fun change up if you don't want to paint- it's also much more forgiving if art isn't a higher up skill of yours. They give you instructions to take home on how to apply the grout too which is helpful. The workers have always been really nice. They now have an upstairs area too, so even if it seems busy in the main part there's other space. And, they share a building with Tea Largo so many people get an açaí bowl or boba to enjoy while they paint. I like to stop at Pour Bear Coffee for some caffeine to bring along. PicassoZ really is as fun as its name- it's colorful and good and inviting, and seeing the finishing product of your ceramic may be the best part!

Came here recently for a private team-building event for work and we had a blast! 2 hours to walk…read morethrough our chosen painting and come out with a unique canvas piece and some good bonding time. Our instructor Abigail was awesome- very high energy and kind and easy to follow along with. I've taken many painting classes before this and already knew what I was doing so I didn't need as much help, but it was new for most of my coworkers so Abigail was super amazing assisting them when needed or giving them guidance on what to do next. We chose "Broccoli" the cat, and you have the option to follow along with the instructor and paint your canvas exactly like the demo or go your own route- I chose to make mine look like my own sweet kitty so it's fun to have some creative freedom if you so choose. They host a lot of different events here, even a "paint your pet" night. After you come and paint something, if you want something fixed, adjusted or help with it you can come in any saturday morning and the artists will help you adjust your painting for free! Normally, this is a paint & sip place as well so you can bring a bottle of wine or your drink (alcoholic or NA) of choice to sip while you paint which is fun too. Definitely recommend this for a date night, girls night, coming with family or even to one of the events by yourself, it's a great way to wind down and let your inner creative come out!

A lover of art (& someone who is appreciative of friendly people), I knew then I would have to return. Today was my lucky day. This gorgeous 3,000 sq ft gallery is owned by Russ & Lee Taylor-- a husband & wife team. Lee, a painter, spent many years as a local public school art teacher. Lee's medium is mixed media. Currently, 25 artists have pieces on display here & available for purchase. All but two artists reside in Florida. A few creations belong to one of my favorite artists (Lloyd Johnson of the Tampa area); they are sold here. Every piece in this gallery is handselected by the Taylor's. This gallery is perfect for anyone interested in abstract paintings, ceramics, jewelry, landscapes, leather, metalworks, mixed media, photography, sculptures, @ items of decor to brighten any home. The name of the business relates to the deep faith these business owners possess. The psalm painted within the gallery is "Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands." According to Lee, "As artists we make things with our hands, but more importantly, everything is truly out of our hands because it's in God's hands." A contributing artist here does not need to be Christian-- all (faith or no faith) are welcome for selection providing the art s/he creates offers positivity. This business is not merely a gallery. ART CLASSES are held weekdays & Saturdays for every level of artist (or future artist). There are also periodic art shows-- check out the gallery's Facebook page for more information. One dream of this lovely couple is to introduce art to the local community-- a goal they work toward six days weekly (closed Sundays).
